On this page, I will cover the Zodiac Riddles and some hints. I will try to not completely spoil the solution if you are trying to figure it out for yourself. As such, each riddle will have the following format:
- Riddle Name (Zodiac character and whether it is the A/B version).
- The Riddle itself (“There is no place for me on the podium of a starway” for example).
- Hint/Spoiler - This will try to talk about the general ideas within the riddle or give a question(s) to steer you in the right direction.
- Song Spoiler - This tells you the exact song to focus on.
- Solution Spoiler - This will give you the exact solution for the Riddle. It will include tips for accomplishing the task along with the true meaning of the riddle. In some cases, this might include a video solution.
I realize this will increase the number of clicks and actions required, but I want to give people interested in solving the puzzles a system to learn and discover the answers if they so desire. My apologies for those not interested in this method, but I believe that the walkthrough is merely a tool rather than always needing to beat someone over the head with the answer.
NOTE: The order the achievements/riddles are presented may not be the most straightforward and is instead just the order of the achievement list on TA.
Aries A
Riddle - There is No Place for me on the Podium of a Starway
Hint
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***- Podium refers to the 3 possible ranks for finishing the song (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
- Starway refers to a song which loosely translates to something dealing with a Star
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Do not score enough points to reach the Bronze rank for this song. That means score below 5000 points. To do this, avoid as many collectibles as possible. Here are some tips to keep in mind:- Stay to the sides - Generally speaking, most of the collectibles are in the middle of the road. If you keep to the far left or right, you'll miss most of the stuff.
- You can't avoid everything. Some sections will funnel down a single path where you have to collect hearts.
- For the section with the circular tracks. Stay to the right. That's the outside of the first circle and the inside of the second one.
- I was able to get under 1k points for this song so there is a lot of leeway even if you make numerous mistakes.
Additionally, here is a video of me not receiving a rank on the song:
Taurus A
Riddle - I find squares in every Corner of the World
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Collect every single diamond collectible in the game. On the song select screen, the diamond collectibles that you have or are missing are along the bottom right of the screen. If it is just an outline, you missed it. Refer to the previous page for all of the diamond locations.
Gemini A
Riddle - A Magician Made Three of my Wishes come true where One Became Two
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***This is the level where you split the boss of Area 3 from one person into two (one became two). On this level, fail as much as possible. Each time you hit enough fails, you'll be offered to skip forward. Take it. Skip forward 3 times and you will solve Gemini A. There are 4 sections to do this on. Just crash as soon as possible. The video below shows me getting plenty of skips:
Cancer A
Riddle - Twenty times I risk my life without Failing where a Diabolical Trinity Appear
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***The risky bonus we detailed on the controls page. You need to get 20 risky bonuses on Doki Doki Rush without failing. This will require you to get real close to traffic to continually hit that bonus. This will require going for a lot of sections. 20 is more than you think. Use the lines on the road to help you see the right spot to be to get the risky bonus. In the video below, I show some of the risks you need to take to get the achievement. While it doesn't pop in the video (as I already had it), this gives a decent idea of how you need to go out of your for 20 at this level.
Leo A
Riddle - Three are the times Goldenly I began again
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Get Gold on Begin Again 3 times in one play session. I'm not entirely sure if it has to be the song 3 times in a row, but here's what I did:- Start Begin Again
- Get Gold
- Play Begin Again a 2nd Time
- Get Gold
- Play Begin Again a 3rd Time
- Realize I'm not going to hit a high enough score
- Restart the song
- Get Gold a 3rd Time - Achievement Unlocked
It seems at least as long as you get 3 golds in a row with no other ranks you'll get the achievement. I have re-included the Begin Again Gold Rank video for reference:
Virgo A
Riddle - With the Smallest of Efforts I knock out
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Do not mash when delivering the knockout punch. After the mash sequence ends, the game will prompt you to hit the button once. You can see what this looks like in the video below:
Libra A
Riddle - Small blood pumps are cursed among Snaps and Claps
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Do not collect any of the small heart collectibles during the whole level. This must be done in a single run without dying. This can take a few runs to learn. The video below shows how I did it. Some notes:- The heart outlines are allowed to be collected. It's only the smallest ones that invalidate the achievement.
- Play the level a few times to learn your path. There are some very repeatable ways to get through the level, but you need to get used to it. Play a section and die if you pick up a heart (or even if you don't so you can quickly repeat it). Keep doing it a few times till you feel comfortable doing it without dying.
I have included a video for reference:
Scorpius A
Riddle - Like a Worthless Chariot I drift in the Night
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***The car in this level is called "Chariot". The word worthless refers to your point total at the end of the level. It must be 0. This one of the harder achievements for me. It's very easy to get points in any of the following ways:- Hearts
- Drifting
- Risky Bonuses
It was the risky bonuses that caused me the most trouble. I tried sticking to edges a lot and found a rock immediately where I wasn't ready to dodge. You need to build the muscle memory for how to get through the sections and understanding where you begin the next section. It is possible to die and repeat a section to lose the points you might have collected, but having a rock/barrier to hit might not happen in time. I had decent runs end when I got a risky bonus and then couldn't hit a rock before the next checkpoint. The videos below show a rough strategy to get through this one (just a couple of mistakes in each, but that's the general path I took each time):
Sagittarius A
Riddle - From a Golden Sun to a Silvery Star I go to a Tower of Bronze
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***The 3 songs listed have the cards we're looking for:- Inside - Sun Card - The electric spinner with the 8 spots you have to shoot is the Sun
- Heartbreak V - The card at the start of the level is the Star Card
- Heartbreak III - The level is a tower, but you will see the Tower Card when you start
In the order above, you need to go Gold, Silver, Bronze. You can restart a track in the set (I did), but you need to do these in order for the achievement. I have included videos of all 3 with additional tips for the Silver and Bronze runs for Heartbreak V and III respectively to give you an idea of how much you need to limit your play to unlock the achievement:
Inside - Gold
Heartbreak V - Silver
- Silver Rank really just pushes you to make a mistake in a section. You can aim to do really well during the opening sailing section, then collide with one of the walls during the falling section. This can help you easily reach the goal score.
- The video included does not do this but shows an alternate method while not dying and instead avoiding a lot of collectibles.
Heartbreak III - Bronze
- This level's hardest part might be to limit your scoring from the QTE's. There are a lot of jumps that can give you easy points if you're not careful. Try to aim for OK or Good if possible.
- In the video, you will see I avoid most collectibles and score the majority of my points on the QTE's. I had a lot of leeway on my score here between the Bronze of 2500 and Silver of 5000 to work with.
Capricornus A
Riddle - I am the Perfect Emperor
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***For every QTE in this level, you need a Perfect rating. Nothing else matters. Some people say to turn off the volume for the timing based achievements. I worked fine both with and without. A major part of it is just getting used to natural timing. By the time you've played every level, you should have a good natural feel for what "Perfect" is. The only really issue becomes knowing when in the level they occur.
Aquarius A
Riddle - With the Card of the Solitary One I Appear Oppositely forty times
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***After the portal on each side of Heartbreak IV appears, we need to go through it 40 times during the level. This is not a "hard" achievement, but you'll need to focus on it. Rather than going in the same direction (left or right) for the 40 warps, it is recommended to swap directions after passing through the portal. Keep doing it and when you hit 40, the achievement will unlock. Don't worry about doing anything else during the run for this achievement. As long as you continually go through the portal you'll get it before the end of the level.
Pisces A
Riddle - In the Flat Space I slip between two bullets Quadruple times
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***When you get to the vertical scrolling section of the level, there will be enemy ships that shoot a two bullet pattern with a small gap between them. It is possible to slip between them. DO NOT do this during their horizontal shot pattern. Getting this 4 times would be very difficult. Instead, there is a vertical shot section with enemies on the left and right followed by one in the center. I would aim for slipping between 2 sets of shots from the left or right enemy, then slip between two shots from the center enemy. View the video below for an example:
Aries B
Riddle - I was Consecutively in a hurry in 10 different places
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***You need to skip the cutscenes in levels 10 consecutive times. I personally did this during a run of the All Song Jukebox arcade, but there is an easier method:- Go into a song
- Skip the cutscene
- Quit the Song
- Go to the next song
In general, if you want to make this easier, skip the boss songs completely. These levels almost never have cutscenes to skip. I did this achievement during the Album Arcade thinking it had to be all the songs in a row with skips, but that was more than was necessary.
Taurus B
Riddle - I took a dozen quick breaks
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Just pause the game and resume a dozen times. It doesn't matter which song you do it in. This is a really quick achievement to knock out.
Gemini B
Riddle - You only live once yet I risk my life ten times
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***You need to get 10 risky bonuses in the YOLO arcade. In general, here are some tips to consider:- I got 10 while aiming for a different riddle by accident. If, like me, you cut your turns close, you can easily have 10 in YOLO Arcade without trying for them.
- If instead, you don't play risky, I would recommend using Doki Doki Rush during the YOLO run. A different riddle pushes for a lot of Risky bonuses there, so the skills you learned there should make it doable. Plus, this is the first level in YOLO arcade where you can actually acquire the Risky Bonus so it is natural to go for it there.
Cancer B
Riddle - Reborn in a daydream my secret is in the left eye four times
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***During one of the tunnels, there is an area where the wall and open titles flip-flop back and forth. One of the shapes here is a face. Go through the left eye (your left, not the face's left) and then the next wall (if you miss the wall, you'll need to restart the level as you need to go back and the level ends right after that. Repeat going through the eye four times for your achievement. I have included a video for reference:
Leo B
Riddle - Up is down and Down is up where I slid twenty-five times
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***You need to get the slide bonus 25 times in the level Transonic Gravity. This one can be a bit tricky at first, but doable with the right approach and going strictly for the slides when available. Some additional tips:- When the boss creates the electric fences, you can still (and need to) get slide bonuses. The margins just got a lot smaller. The area you have to veer between is on the alleys of each side of the road. There is a little bit of space on each side before you touch the electric fences.
- Watch the video below for some example slides. Even though there is a crash in the video, you DO NOT want to crash in your run. It appears a crash will invalidate the achievement from my own experience.
Virgo B
Riddle - I heard her sing goodbye before my journey to the sky began
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Two part achievement here. Go to the title screen and listen to the whole title track - Sayonara Wild Hearts. After it's completion, the game will return to the intro cinematic. You can skip this and then go into the game. Select the song Hearts and Swords. As the song starts, you unlock the achievement for solving Virgo B. No need to really play any of the songs after this. It unlocks as the cinematic plays for the level.
Libra B
Riddle - Just from here I traveled ten years back in time
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***This is one of the few achievements outside of the songs themselves. Starting from Libra B on the Zodiac Riddle wheel, go counter-clockwise at least 10 whole times around the wheel. The wheel is technically a "calendar" of sorts so just keep rotating it until you get the achievement. I personally just held left until it unlocked rather than actually focusing on what I was doing.
Scorpius B
Riddle - In a devilish fight I am only good
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***This whole song is one giant Quick Time Event really. Throughout the whole level, you need to only get Good rankings for each input. I'd say this one is harder than trying to do OK or Perfect. There are 21 total inputs here you need to get Good on. My basic tip was more visual than anything. For me, I noticed that when the symbol got close, there was a clearly yellow time right before the perfect rating that got me "GOOD". I realize that's not perfect, but I'd advise people to find a similar timing mechanism. Look for that moment that works for you and repeat it. Other people have suggested turning down the volume on your TV and do it based on your eyes alone. I found it to help some as well since it is easy to get into the rhythm when listening.
Sagittarius B
Riddle - Inside I spin a thousand and eighty degrees
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***On the level Inside, there is a tunnel/pipe where you can around the whole thing. You need to do at least 3 spins in the tunnel (360 degrees times 3 = 1080 degrees). The tunnel begins right after you shoot out the skull sun (the thing with the 8 lines that eventually gives you a diamond). Once you get in, begin to spin. You should be able to get 3 full spins in before the electric fences start to impede your path, but if not, continue your spin when safe to reach the 1080 degrees.
Capricornus B
Riddle - My secret is a majority of squares where all music play
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***While playing Album Arcade, you need to collect at least 50% of the diamond pickups. This achievement will not unlock until you complete the whole arcade even after you get the 50% mark. It will unlock after the conclusion of the last song (Wild Hearts Never Die). There are 68 diamonds in total. You need to collect at least 34 of them. Technically, if you die you can get another shot at ones during the run. Please refer to the previous page as a guide for locations. You can technically pause between each song to check what you're doing if you want to be extra careful.
Aquarius B
Riddle - With only one attempt I stand on the podium
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Reach at least a bronze rank in the YOLO Arcade. This requires a score of 250,000 points. Here are some tips and benchmarks to keep in mind:- 250,000 points will take you roughly most of the way or all the way through the 2nd area of the game. I personally completed it during the 2nd boss fight level. I think I could have gotten it a little sooner if I played things slightly more risky during the levels leading up to it (specifically collecting more diamonds or shooting more wolf bots, but I wanted to play it safe.
- Maximize your points when possible. Practice the levels through the second world so you can do them reliably. When I went for this achievement, I had 2 runs die when I was already above 230k points. Heartbreaking. Part of my problem was not wanting to practice the Heartbreak II set of levels since they were generally my least favorite. Taking a couple of extra runs through them probably would have saved me a lot of time.
Pisces B
Riddle - Happiness is a quintet of squares where one journey ends
Hint
Song
Solution
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Collect all 5 of the diamond collectibles in a single run of the level. If you miss one, you can die and try to collect it. But if you respawn after a missed one, you'll need to start a fresh run of the level. As a reminder, check the previous page which describes the location of all 5 diamonds as well as a video showing them during the level.
