Scrabble - Walkthrough overviewUpdate notes

Hello, and welcome to the official TrueAchievements walkthrough for Scrabble! My name is MC0REBE, and I'll be guiding you through the game as fast as possible. As seen on the overview-page, this game is easily complete-able in less than an hour, and following this walkthrough will allow you to gain some quick GamerScore.

A few notes:

Hide ads

  • You will need an online boosting partner. Honestly, this games multiplayer is as good as dead. Try to look for one while setting up a Gaming Session!
  • Even though you can play through this game without a solver, I've made full use of the online solver Scrabulizer. Basically, you can enter your own letters, find solutions for them, and on top of that, you can add words played by your opponent(s) to the board in the solver. Click here to find it.

So let's get some achievements, shall we?

Scrabble - Achievement guide

It's impossible to write a complete step by step guide, so we'll go through it by "Games played" and list all of the miscellaneous achievements right underneath it.

SINGLE PLAYER

On the main screen, select "Quick Play", and create a new match. You'll be going to the Match Settings screen, and on here, you should only change the "Turn Time" to 45 seconds. The reason for this is the "Whew"-achievement, which requires you to play a word in the last 5 seconds of your turn. Add an AI after confirming those changes, and make sure its difficulty is set to "Very Easy".

MATCH #1: VERY EASY AGAINST AI

During this game, form a word. Just before the timer runs out next to your name, hit the cn_A-button to confirm your spelled word, and you will unlock your first achievement.

Whew

Make a word in the last 5 seconds remaining in your turn in any mode.

Whew

Seeing as all of the other achievements are a bit too random, I'm just going to mention that you shouldn't have any problems scoring at least 325 points. Doing so will unlock the only two score-related achievements included in this title.

I'm On Fire

Score over 225 points in any mode.

I'm On Fire
You Can't Beat Me

Score over 325 points in any mode.

You Can't Beat Me

You'll gain an achievement for winning your first game:

Welcome Aboard

Complete one match in any mode.

Welcome Aboard

You will also unlock the achievement for beating the AI on the aforementioned setting:

Child's Play

Beat the Very Easy AI.

Child's Play

- MATCH #2: HARD AGAINST AI

After finishing the previous game, go into "Quick Play" once more, and don't change any of the Match Settings. Add an AI on Hard difficulty, and do what you need to do to successfully win the game. Doing so will unlock another achievement:

- MATCH #3: VERY HARD AGAINST 3 AI'S

Again; go into "Quick Play", don't change any of the match settings, and add 3 other players. All three should be AI playing on the Very Hard difficulty. Once more, do what you need to do to win the game, and after beating all 3 AI players, you'll unlock yet another achievement:

Sting Like a Bee

Beat 3 Very Hard AI in one match.

Sting Like a Bee

That leaves us with two more games to be able to obtain all the achievements using "Quick Play". Instead of playing against an AI, add a controlled second player (plays on the same controller). We'll do this for the next two games.

- MATCH #4: ATTEMPTING TO SPELL "SCRABBLE" AGAINST A CONTROLLER OPPONENT

So this is where the "annoying" bit starts, but it shouldn't be too hard to be very honest. With the controlled added player, make sure you spell a word that uses any of the letters in the word "SCRABBLE". You can even use a blank tile should you wish too, but it's very important that one of the letters in that specific word is played. Once that is done, his job is over. I would recommend forming a word that contains the letter B or L, since those two were the hardest for me to get.

With your main account, you should try and get all of the remaining letters. To do so, use the cn_X-button to exchange some of your letters. After marking the letters with the cn_A-button, press cn_Y to confirm so you can swap them. It will take a bit of time before you will get the remaining 7 letters, but since you are playing without a time limit and against a controlled opponent, it shouldn't be too hard.

After swapping letters with your own profile, press cn_Y to pass the turn with the controlled opponent if it doesn't have any letters that can form the word "SCRABBLE" anymore. If it does, just swap them again, and you can continue from there. After you finally got all letters on your main profile, just put them down, and you'll unlock the "hardest" achievement in this title.

We Like You, Too

Spell the word "SCRABBLE" on board.

We Like You, Too

Since you've played every single letter in your possession, you will most likely also unlock the following achievement:

B-I-N-G-O

Score a Bingo.

B-I-N-G-O

It's not over yet... You will also have scored more than 50 points in one go unlocking yet another achievement:

Word Scholar

Score over 50 points in one turn.

Word Scholar

Finally, if you planned it out a bit, there's another achievement to obtain. If you hit two "premium" squares with your SCRABBLE, you will also unlock the "Combo"-achievement. This entails combining the following tiles:
- Double Letter Score
- Triple Letter Score
- Double Word Score
- Triple Word Score

Combo

Use at least 2 types of Premium Squares in one turn.

Combo

From that point on, you can use the (what I call) "pass-to-quit" method. Just pass the game with both players until the game ends. You just need to make sure that you've scored more points than the controlled opponent, because all of the letter values from those in your possession will be extracted from your total score.

- MATCH #5: PASS TO QUIT GAME AGAINST A CONTROLLED OPPONENT

That's where we'll use the same method. Just form two or three words with your main controller while passing with the opponent. After doing so and scoring a minimum of 50 points on your main profile, pass with it as well to end the game a tad quicker. This will unlock the last single player related achievement.

House Rules

Win 5 matches in Quick Play.

- THE REMAINING ACHIEVEMENT

There should be one achievement left, and that will unlock after forming a word whilst also creating yet another one. As an example, I've added a screenshot below where player one formed the word "NECK" and the player two formed "STONES". This will give player two points for the word he spelled as well as for "NECKS". I'm sure you get the picture by now laugh.

"Not A Coincidence"

Spell at least two words in a turn.

Not A Coincidence

MULTIPLAYER

Finally, we have the only multiplayer-related achievement in this walkthrough. On the main menu, select "Online Multiplayer", and choose either "Private" (so you can invite your boosting buddy) or choose "Public" (against random players). Once you are in a game, hit cn_RT, and pick any of the emojis. ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED.

Socializer

Use an Emoji in Multiplayer.

Socializer

Quit or finish the game now, and that should be it: the full 1,000GS. Congrats, and until next time wave!
