Basic Enemy Strategies

I have detailed the best strategies to my knowledge for each enemy. These strategies are the same for all difficulties whether it be Easy or Mania difficulty. Their only difference - Amount of health, number of enemies, and the aggression.

  • At times you'll be overwhelmed with the numbers on-screen but your best bet is to grab someone and throw them to create a clear path. It's incredibly effective as you damage the one you throw and damage the ones you knocked down. If that's not possible, get out of there with a jumping kick. When you do throw someone, you're invincible for a second buying you some valuable time.
  • Throughout the game, you’re always going to try and keep all year enemies to one side of you rather than enemies all around you. To be sure this happens, make sure your screen has been cleared before moving to your right. Don't try to rush your areas.
  • You never want to be in a position where you’re surrounded. On Easy difficulty use your special. On all other difficulties, it’s probably best to not bother as it'll drain your health very quickly before you can restore it.
  • Whenever you find weapons, use them. They'll keep your enemies at bay and are a great way to reduce their health.

  • By far the best tip. Coming at enemies horizontally is far deadlier than vertically. You can get out of situations much quicker moving up/down rather than right/left due to the hitbox. You can also grab enemies by moving up/down directly upon them. Some enemies are certain to hit you unless you move quickly, keep an eye on the deadliest of enemies on the screen so you can predict their next move.

The easiest enemy in the game. Pretty straight forward, a short combo will usually dispatch them. They’re more of a distraction when much harder enemies are on-screen. They’re also a great combo builder.

Can be a bit of a pain, they tend to catch you out while you're dealing with someone else. They usually run at you diagonally or straight on. A well-timed punch will stop them but by far the best thing to do is to jump and kick in their direction. It’ll make them drop their weapon so you can easily dispatch them.

Signal Thug with a mohawk, wearing yellow/green or purple

These enemies come in a few different colours, each one has more health but the strategy is the same. There are only two attacks that cause some concern, the slide and the throw. The slide is blockable by a jump kick. Signal will also flash red just before a throw - so get ready. Once again, the best defense is a jump kick.

These enemies have a slightly longer reach than Galsia but they're still reasonably easy. You can't jump at them or they'll uppercut you. Try to go at angles towards them to get in close and unleash a combo.

Dylan (Grey/Green and Yellow)

The grey/green Dylans are no problem, their only real attack is a headbutt which takes them quite a while to throw. The yellow ones are a little trickier, they will jump kick you. They crouch just before they launch, when this happens, move up/down on your screen to avoid and quickly dispatch them. They have very little health.

Koobo

There's only 4 of these throughout the game. The 1st and 2nd can spawn pipes - usually standing very close to them and mashing combos is enough. When he jumps in the air, be prepared to jump yourself. They'll knock you to the ground if your still there. Time your jump well and this mini-boss is easy. The 3rd (Level 10) and 4th (Level 12) ones are much more difficult. The 3rd one has a sledgehammer and the 4th has a mace. Use the wrecking ball to help on level 10. On level 12 make sure you knock out the mace as quickly as you can and use it yourself - it'll inflict massive damage. Again, as above, time your jumps and these guys will be dealt with swiftly.

Ferroccio (Blue, Yellow and Black police officers)

Another basic enemy, there's nothing to worry about here for the blue and yellow ones. Occasionally the yellows flash red and grab you, it does no damage but can hold you up. The black-clothed Ferroccio are a real pain. They all start off with tasers and their reach is incredible. Your best option here is the jump kick them, take their taser, and either throw it away or use it on them.

Murphy (Riot cop)

Reasonably easy once you know how to handle them. They have a shield that will survive a basic combo. The best strategy here is to unleash 2-3 punches and back off, you can either move up/down. Once he's used his baton go back for a full combo to break the shield. Once their shield is gone they're the easiest enemy in the game by far. Just make sure you finish them off before their shield respawns. Their shield can only survive two hits with a taser too so if you get one of these, make sure you put it to good use.

Big Ben (Stocky baseball guy)

There are two types, a white shirt, and a green shirt. The white shirt has two attacks, fire breathing, and a roll. The fire can't be countered but you can move vertically to move out of the way. Keep an eye on him at all times as he is deceptively quick. When he's finished, grab him, punch him a few times, then a throw - the throw is super high damage. The rolls need the be jump kicked. The grey shirt doesn't fire breath but will launch himself at you. The only defense is a jumping kick.

Honey (Biker woman)

A real pain, if you know the best method and with a bit of practice, she becomes much more tolerable. Wait for her to lean back, she'll launch headbutt. Either jump kick to avoid or move up/down the screen. When they've finished that's your opportunity to strike. When she flashes red, jump kick her otherwise she'll powerbomb you.

Victoria

A relatively easy enemy once you know the tricks. She throws projectiles from afar. Keep here at punching distance. Try not to grab her when she has anything in her hands as she'll chuck it in the air and get you. Unleash combos when your close but always be on the lookout for her launching the beakers. Jump away if needed, she'll also help you sometimes as her beakers also affect other enemies.

Garnet

These have two primary attacks, a slap which doesn't cause much damage - you can stop this with just a few quick punches. She also has the jumping kick which can be very annoying, she can also jump diagonally which means you can't move up/down. Move horizontally away from here when she does this. They don't have much life so decent combo will be enough to sort her out.

Goro

A very simple enemy and there's only a few in the game. For these guys, you want to come into diagonally to grab them, give them a very quick throw or they'll break out. Rinse and repeat. Don't throw any punches or they'll send you flying.

Raven

The best strategy against Ravens is to dodge their flying knees by moving at an angle and getting in close. If you manage to hit them before they block, then combo away. If they’re blocking, stop the combo and move in for a grab attack.

Assassin Agent

Rush in close from above or below, and give them a good pummeling. They're only dangerous with other enemies onscreen, as you won’t be able to dodge their shots when you’re busy with other enemies.

Shadow (Ninjas)

These guys only show up on level 12 and they're incredibly easy to beat. They throw shurikens which don't take much damage but they are quite quick. Try to predict where their next move is and take them out with a simple combo.
