Mission 2 – Master Key

Area 1

From the start, drop down and climb up the wall to your immediate right. Push the button to reveal a false wall and a small hideout area with a vial of amber and a document. Exit the way you came in, drop over the wall by the lamp, and climb up the backside of the tall stone pillar to your right, the one about a 45-degree angle from the hole you just exited. You’ll jump up three hand grips, cross to the right across another hand grip in the next pillar, and to the right again to the beam sticking out of the ledge below. Climb onto the ledge and grab Token #1/10, then climb up again to your immediate right. There should be a guard patrolling just in front of you. Make sure he’s heading to the left, down an adjacent tunnel, and use amber vision to ensure no other guards are looking. Cross over beyond that left tunnel to climb up some handgrips on the wall to the left.

Climb up over the ledge above and up onto the stairs to the left to pick the lock on the door above. Take a 45-degree right turn through the door to reach a nearby table. Climb up the handgrips above it and to the left into a small alcove above. Look over the ledge to your right to see a guard below. As long as he’s facing to the right, drop down from this ledge and go to the immediate left and around the corner to find a table with a vial of amber and Token #2/10. Go back around the corner behind the guard, pull the lever, and enter the door. Around the corner to the left there is a sewer grate on the floor and a guard on patrol. Check his location with amber vision and wait for him to cross from your right to your left, going past the sewer grate. Sneak straight ahead over the sewer grate as he patrols to the left, and wait behind the wall to the left as he speaks to another guard. You should see Token #3/10 near that guard on a table.

Once the patrolling guard continues on, while the one near the token still has his back turned, sneak over and grab it off the table, avoiding hitting the chair near the table. Continue ahead near and put out the torch on the left wall. Pull the lever just beyond it on the wall and go through the gate that opens. Go straight ahead and up the stairs. Use amber vision to get a bead on the guards ahead, especially the patrolling ones. At the top of the stairs, wait for the patrolling guard in the center of the long path that runs left to right (when you’re facing forward from the stairs) to be patrolling to the left. Creep along the left side of the path, pacing a few steps behind him. He’ll eventually turn around behind a set of barrels. When he does, wait on the other side until he takes a step or two in the opposite direction, then step forward into the water falling down.

From here, creep forward a few more steps toward the guy standing at the end of the path, facing you, and carefully grab Token #4/10 off the next barrel between the large set and the stationary guard. Be ready to go invisible as you grab it if any of the roaming guards start to turn yellow, as there aren’t a lot of options for a sneaky exit. From the token, turn around facing back toward the large set of barrels a few feet away. Go left at a 45 degree angle across the path and jump off the ledge down to a wooden ledge below with a few Roabies nearby. Don’t worry about them, just turn right immediately when you land and jump across a beam and over to an alcove on the left with a vial of life inside and Token #5/10 to the left. Facing the token, create a clone and climb him up over the wall in front of you, into the area with the Roabies.

Run him directly to the right to the staircase to attract the attention of the Roabies, then immediately switch to Styx and jump out, onto the armoire on the left side of the room, and straight ahead onto the next box to get Token #6/10. From here, go straight over the other side and into a small crawlspace ahead. Go straight through a 2nd crawlspace, drop down, and enter the small room on the right to get Token #7/10 and throwing knives off the table, if needed. You’ll also get ‘secondary objective’ completed in this room. Exit the room, climb up the wall to the left, and go back through one crawlspace. Take an immediate left up one flight of stairs and climb up three handholds on the left wall to reach a narrow ledge above. Go left on this ledge around the corner and save your game.

Drop down and creep forward until you’re just behind the first guy hammering the wall on the left. Use invisibility, grab Token #8/10 just past that hammering guy against a metal gate on the left, and quickly go around the wall to your right, behind the worker just on the other side and across the path. On the other side, go through the torch-lit archway on your right and take a hard left up a narrow flight of stairs. Hug the left wall and go all the way to the top. Wait for a guard to come out to the ledge and slip behind him to the left up a short set of stairs. At the top, take an immediate right into a small alcove to find Token #9/10 on your left. Save here just in case. Facing out from this alcove, you should see a small set of stairs off to your right. Head for those and at the top, along the left railing, you should see a token. It’s too dangerous to go straight for it, so instead use invisibility to slip past the two roaming guards and behind the wall just to the right of that token.

Wait behind this wall for the first two guards to continue on over to the left and down the stairs you just came up. A 3rd guard should walk by, so sneak out and grab Token #10/10 off the railing after he passes it. Follow the railing to end on the right. Slip down into an alcove with a door you must unlock to the right, but don’t pick it yet. Take cover behind the archway on the left side of the alcove as you enter (right side when facing out from the door). Wait for one guard to roam over from the right into the alcove and leave, and another guard to walk past from the left. Once they’re both gone, pick the lock on the door and open it to finish this area.

Area 2

From the start, hug the left wall around the very first corner and drop down into the area below the stairs to the left to find Token #11/20 on a square planter. Facing the token, go up one flight of stairs to your left, and up the next flight to the right. Climb up one handgrip on the wall and over the ledge. You should see a sleeping guard on your left. Jump over his head to grab a handgrip and climb up into the window above. Drop off into the hallway and hide behind the small box on the right (cover with cn_RT) until the nearest guard moves away from his window. Quickly sneak out through that window onto a beam below and jump across to the next beam. Use amber vision to time the guards on the path in front of you, or just use invisibility. Token #12/20 is sitting out in the open on the far side of the path. Timing is tricky, but you can get it without using invisibility if you’re careful. Save your game first if you try to.

Go up the stairs immediately to the right of that token, and up another flight to the left at the top to find Token #13/20 sitting on a box. Go straight back down the stairs from Token 13 to the railing. Look for some handgrips on the wall over the ledge to your left. Jump out onto them and climb up. At the top, go right along the railing of the balcony. At the end, save your game just in case you’re seen and jump across to the smaller balcony directly to your right. There’s a handgrip below the railing if you don’t quite make the jump. Token #14/20 is on this balcony on some boxes. Save your game again before jumping back across, just in case. You’ll need to stand up to make the jump, as crouched jumps don’t quite have the distance needed. Go to the other end of the upper balcony, and drop over the railing to the lower ledge below.

From here, you should see some handgrips past the railing on the wall to the right. Jump across these handgrips and across the corner to the left, below an archer, to reach another ledge. You’ll go across eight handgrips in total there. Wait for the guard above and to your left to walk away and around the statue up there, then climb onto the stairs above. Quickly roll across and drop down onto a small wooden platform just below. You should see several small beams in the wall to your right when facing out from this ledge, and a stone railing below them to your right. Another stone railing is almost directly beneath you. The easy way is to drop straight down onto this lower railing, but you’ll need to use a vial of life to do it. You can use your dodge-roll to reach the railing to the right when that guard’s back is turned, then dodge-roll again down onto the lower railing to save your health.

On the lower railing, look for a small alcove to your right (if facing in toward the path while standing on the railing) to find Token #15/20. You may need to hang off the railing or find a dark corner to hide in while you wait on the guards’ timing to be right to grab it. Facing this token, exit to your immediate left and around the corner to your right. You’ll see a large stack of colored bales just in front of you. Directly behind these, there is a pillar with handgrips on it and a crate of supplies below it. Jump onto the crate and up the three handgrips on the pillar to reach a narrow wooden beam above. Turn left along this beam, and jump over to the walkway at the end. Turn left and look behind the 2nd archway, on the left just above the railing, to push a button and open a small panel on the floor between the archways, revealing Relic #3/8.

Go all the way to the other end of the wooden beam you were on before and jump across to a small stone ledge. Follow it around to the right until you see a small balcony with a stone railing and a torch, and jump across to it. There may be a guard at the end of this balcony on your right, depending on your timing. Save your game in case the guard or servant sees you here. Whether the guard is there or not, go to that end (patiently if the guard is present) and roll diagonally to the right, through the door, to grab Token #16/20 off the box just on the other side. You roll to avoid having the servant to the left see you. Take a couple steps back toward the door and roll through it out onto the balcony. If you weren’t spotted, take cover behind the wall on the interior side of the balcony and slip back down to the other end.

Over the ledge, there are five staggered handgrips leading down. Drop down these to the ground below (careful of any guards nearby). Go up the stairs to the right. Just before the end, drop down below the stairs and pick the lock on the door. Go down the stairs inside and kill the two Roabies with throwing knives. Grab Token #17/20 in the far right corner, as well as the throwing knife off the pillar, and go back up the way you came. Wait for the guard to turn his back, then jump onto the tree planter and back up onto the stairs. There’s another throwing knife just inside the door on the table to the left. On the other side of the door, climb up the bails and onto the supplies hanging from chains above. From there, jump onto the ledge above and go up the stairs to the left, then across to the window ledge just to your left before at the top of the stairs.

Save your game, jump across three handgrips to the left, up one, and up onto a small beam sticking out. Jump up and over the railing to your left. You should see a bag of sand to the right. Grab Token #18/20 on the spools just in front of it. Hide up against the bales by the sand if need be, and pickpocket amber from one of the three guards roaming the area if you’re short. When the coast is clear, jump back over the railing the way you came and back across the handgrips to the window ledge where you started. Save your game again if you’ve made it this far, just to avoid repeating it. Jump over to the left onto a beam in front of the flaming brazier just ahead, and wait for two archers to roam over and standing left of the brazier, facing left from your perspective. Go behind the brazier to the right, then back over to the left onto a wooden ledge against the wall.

Look down below to see a torch, a table with a token, and two guards that roam around. Wait for both guards to roam away from the table and throw some sand to put out the torch beside it. Drop down the four handgrips just in front of you to reach the floor and grab Token #19/20 and a vial of amber off the table. Duck under the table if you need to wait for the guards to cycle again, and climb back up the handgrips. Stop on the 3rd one up and wait for the archers to be back in their position facing out from the brazier, then climb up the 4th handgrip and back onto that wooden platform from before. Wait for the archers to path over to the other side of the brazier, and drop off to the right, down onto a soft-landing pad on top of a railcar below.

Duck under the railcar facing out (away from the ledge above where you dropped down), and wait for a nearby roaming guard to pass by in front of you before heading back around the right side of the railcar. Creep up to the left and take cover behind the first box to the left. Wait for the roaming guard ahead to pass by and stop to the right of the bale ahead, then creep up and take cover behind the bale. Once he turns again and starts walking off to the right, jump up to the handgrip and onto the balcony above, to your immediate left. Grab Token #20/20 off a small basket on this balcony. Head down the stairs to the right. You should see a waypoint for a ‘chest of goods’. Avoid the guards and make your way to the chest. If no one is around, you can just climb in. If guards are nearby, just use invisibility and climb in anyway to end this area.

Area 3

Go up the stairs and use your amber vision. Once the guard starts moving away, open the door and take cover behind the wall to the left. Drink a vial of amber to top off, because you’ll pickpocket his vial in a moment. Wait for the other guard to turn left and face out at a table, then sneak behind him and pickpocket that first guard for his vial. Also grab Token #21/30 off the table at the end, just as you reach the corner. Climb out the window, up the handgrips to the left, and up onto the beams above the two guards you just passed. Drop down behind the guard that was facing out from the table (not the one you pickpocketed) and continue past a flaming brazier, through a doorway to reach some stairs leading down to the right with purple carpeting on them. Use invisibility and jump straight over the railing ahead.

Grab Token #22/30 off the table just to your right as you land, and duck under the table before your invisibility runs out. Creep to the other end of the table and sneak out between the two chairs on the left corner. Jump 45 degrees to your right over a couple of footstools so you don’t make noise, and activate the secret bookshelf opening to the hiding place waypoint. You’ll reach some runes on the floor with purple flags on the walls containing runes as well. The flags are the key. In each row, you can only step on the runes that are on the flag. Any others will be traps. You may want to take a peek at the video for this. Once you cross the rune floor, grab the report off the table and the vial of amber on the bench to the side. Activate the key to open the gate and return back the way you came, through the bookcase at the end.

Jump onto the chair on the right and up onto the bookshelf against the right wall, then up to the ledge above. From here, jump onto the narrow stone ledge on the far side and go through the opening in the wall, onto a small beam on the other side. Jump left from here onto another narrow stone ledge and follow it to the end. Drop down and head through the opening to the right and around the corner, hugging the right wall. Unlock the door that leads to the Queen waypoint. At the other end of the walkway outside, climb up the handgrips on the corner to the left. Save your game. Jump across several small beams all the way around the corner to find a birds nest on another beam on the back of this structure, with Token #23/30 in it. Make your way back a few beams to reach a window looking down inside the room you just jumped around. You’ll see the Queen objective (a jar) below, behind two guards.

Drop down to the Queen, activating invisibility mid-fall. Grab it and climb up the handgrips on the opposite side, back up onto the stone ledge above. Return back the way you came, through the door you had to unlock. You should be back on the purple-carpeted staircase. From the top of the stairs to your right, facing down the stairs, climb over the railing to your left and drop down a few handgrips to the ground below. Take cover behind the planter just to your right and wait for the guards to path away from the table so you can sneak out and grab Token #24/30 off it. Immediately duck under the table after grabbing the token, and go to the left edge of it. Save your game. Sneak out and quickly roll forward and around behind the planter just to the right. When the coast is clear, sneak forward onto the stairs leading down.

Drop off to the right at the bottom of the stairs and go into the room on the right. Hug the railing to the right into the center of the room. Wait for the roaming archer in the room to walk up to the table on the far side of the room, near where a servant should be cleaning the floor. Creep up behind him, and once he turns and walks off to the right, quickly grab Token #25/30 off the side of the table nearest to the servant. Quickly roll back the way you came and down onto the stairs. If the guard below sees you, or the archer above, go invisible before they are fully alerted and hug the right wall down to the bottom of the stairs. The guard at the bottom should lean up against the archway by the stairs, facing to the left. Wait for this guard to walk over and look over the railing to the left, and roll into the crawl space straight ahead.

You’ll knock over the mop/bucket, but the guard won’t go fully alert, as you’ll already be in the crawl space. Follow the crawl space straight ahead and around a left-hand turn, out onto a stone ledge. Go to the end of the first beam so that you’re facing out to the right over the walkway. Wait for the guard below to patrol out onto the balcony, and the other guard to the right to patrol away, before you drop down. Creep out onto the balcony behind the archer leaning over the railing. The roaming guard will walk to the left. You can grab Token #26/30 right beside the archer without going invisible if you’re careful. Turn around 180 degrees and cross over to the stairs on the opposite side of the walkway. Go down the stairs and up the next set of stairs to a locked door. Pick the lock and go straight past the guard on the left to grab Token #27/30 off the table just past him.

Return through the door and drop off the stairs into a crawl space just below them. You’ll come out of the other side of the crawl space under a table. Save your game and grab Token #28/30 off the table you’re under, careful of the two patrolling guards. One of the two guards will have a vial of amber on his belt. Facing the token, turn right 90 degrees and head straight ahead to a stone pillar on the right just before the next path. One guard should move to your left and face away, while the one with the vial of amber moves to your right to circle back around the room that had the token. Follow behind him and pickpocket the vial if need be, then quickly turn around and cross the path you followed him through, where the other guard went to the left, and out the archway onto the balcony.

From the right end of this balcony (right as you’re coming out the archway), jump over to the small stone ledge below the railing on the next balcony. Go around the corner to the left and to the end of the ledge. Jump and hang from the railing above, and wait for the guard on the balcony above you to patrol to your right (in the direction of the previous balcony you jumped down from). Go left to the end of the balcony and jump up onto a hand grip on the wall to your right, then up onto a small beam and through the opening in the wall to a wooden platform above. Duck under the table in front of you immediately. Wait for the patrolling archer to come toward you and look out over the railing. Watch out for the chairs, and sneak out to follow along behind him as he goes back the opposite direction to grab Token #29/30 on the 3rd table in the area (the one you hid under being the 1st).

Return to the end of the wooden platform where you climbed up. Jump out and to the left onto a beam sticking out, making sure the guard below isn’t looking toward you. As he patrols away to the left, drop down and go straight ahead to hit a lever on the right and open the metal gate in front of you. Take cover to the right of the door and wait for the guards to patrol away, or just use invisibility and sneak past them onto the white landing pad on the railcar in front of you. At the other end of this railcar, jump up the colored bales to the right and onto the wooden ledge above to find Token #30/30 in the corner. Drop down and go to the right, making sure that the guard in front of you is off to the left or right so you can sneak behind him down the middle of the path. Continue down the path, using the railcar as cover, and go through the crawl space to the right at the end (jump across the railings to the right behind the last guard) to reach the waypoint and the end of this area.

Area 4

Head forward and up the stairs to the right. Be careful of the guard and wait until he walks away to follow along behind him through the doorway. Just past the door, jump to the handgrip on the pillar just off the stairs to the left to jump up to the wooden catwalk/platform against the left wall above. Go a few feet forward to the corner, then look to your right for a beam sticking out from a pillar. Jump out to it and to the next beam (on the same pillar, just at a 90-degree angle) to find Token #31/40. Jump back to the previous beam. Look down, and once the guard below walks past, going to your right, roll/drop down behind him and continue forward and around the corner to the left. Take cover behind the next corner, just before the stack of crates.

Looking ahead down the next hall, there will be a stationary guard to the right. Wait until another guard comes out near him and walks to the left, looking away from the stationary guard. Pop out from the corner and jump onto the crate behind the stationary guard to grab Token #32/40 right from under his nose. Return to the corner where you took cover quickly, because the guard to the left will be moving again. Once he’s walking toward where you are, about halfway to you, go to the left and jump onto a couple of boxes and up onto a drainage channel above, in the upper-left corner of the room. You should have the two guards directly to your right when facing this drainage channel, for perspective. A couple of Roabies will be coming up the stairs to the left, possibly, just as you’re jumping up to it.

Go to the T-intersection in front of you and to the left to find Token #33/40, then turn around and go straight ahead to the end of the tunnel (passing where you entered) until you reach the wall, then look right out the opening. You should see a wooden ramp leading up to the left, down below you. Carefully drop down off the ledge (grab the ledge) and down to the ledge below you. Jump diagonally to your left over to the far side, and up onto a drainage channel just beside the top of that wooden ramp I mentioned above. Go a forward through the arch. Jump onto the lip of the channel to your right and roll forward and to the right, off the ledge, to land on some crates below where Token #34/40 sits. Facing this token, turn around and drop down into the recessed area. Turn left and go forward past the first opening on your left. Turn into the second one (still on your left), and straight ahead you should see a hand grip on the wall on the far side of the next room.

There’s an archer on a wooden platform above, and a guard to the right. Wait till the archer is walking toward you, and the guard is looking away, then jump up to the handgrip in front of you and up to the next. When the archer on the platform above starts walking away, climb up and follow along behind him to the end, climbing onto the boxes to the left when he turns to look off to the right at an angle. Once he turns back around to walk the other way, jump diagonally over to the stuff hanging from the ceiling in chains, and grab Token #35/40 on the far wall, just next to the hanging stuff. Jump back over to the near ledge, so that you’re behind the boxes and the archer can’t see you. Look down over the end of the ledge to see a torch below, and throw some sand at it. Quickly hang off the ledge so the archer doesn’t see you, and wait for the guard below to walk away (toward the end of the room you came from) before dropping down.

You should now be near the torch you just extinguished. Wait for the guard inside the door to pass to the left, then sneak through the door and around the corner to the right, up a short flight of stairs. At the top of the stairs, climb up two handgrips on the backside of the pillar at the top-left corner of the stairs and onto a wooden catwalk above, to the left, to find Token #36/40 in the corner. Facing the token, turn around and go straight ahead into a crawl space. At the end of the crawl space, kill the Roabie with a throwing dagger. In the middle of the wall to your left, climb up and to the left on the hand grips to reach a narrow wooden ledge running around the upper walls. Follow it around the corner to the left to get Token #37/40. Return back through the crawlspace and stand where Token 36 was. Wait for the guard below to pass beneath you and walk down the stairs, and drop down the hand grips.

Go around the pillar to the stairs’ side and climb up some handgrips to yet another wooden catwalk above and to your right (when facing the pillar, basically above the stairs). Walk down the platform so that you’re adjacent to another bunch of stuff hanging from the ceiling in chains and wait for the guard to pass back beneath you and return up the stairs. Create a clone, take control of it, and jump across to the chained stuff and forward down to the ground below. Cross the bridge ahead, using the boxes to hide from the guard, and slip through the metal gate to hit the lever. Suicide the clone, make sure the coast is clear with Styx, and drop down. You should be facing the bridge/gate where you just took your clone. Turn left and go up and around the corner to the left to get Token #38/40 in a small wooden case. Hit the lever to open the nearby gate.

Facing the lever, turn right (left if facing the token) and drop off the ledge to the right, behind the archer, onto a beam below, then off again to land on a ledge below that. Kill the Roabie in the nearby alcove and grab Token #39/40 off the root-looking plant. Turn right out of the alcove and use the hand grip to climb up to the bridge that leads to the metal gate where you went with your clone before (careful of the guards above). Sneak around the corner to the right and up to where Token 38 was, just to get your bearings and let the guards roam into more convenient positions. Go down the stairs and put the torch just around the corner to the right out, then come back up to where Token 38 was. Go through the gate here that you opened and forward, extinguishing both torches in this hall as you go.

Continue up the stairs and put out the torch around the corner to the left. Cross the path diagonally to the left, through a small archway with a vase leaning in it, to find your secondary objective Owain. Do a muffled kill on him (hold cn_X). Save your game. Grab his body and return the way you came, making sure the nearby guard is moving off to the left. At the base of the first set of stairs, make sure the guard to the right is walking away, and cross the opening to reach the spot (once again) where Token 38 was. Use amber vision to watch for a guard around the corner to the right. He walks out onto the bridge, then back to the right. Once he passes below the base of the stairs, heading to the right, quickly go down the stairs and around the corner to the bridge. Continue forward all the way to the end, until you’re just by the hideout waypoint, and toss Owain’s body down. You should be 5-6 meters from the hideout here.

Return back to where you found Owain, as we still need to get Token 40. Jump out the window where he was facing onto a small beam, then forward up to a drainage channel. At the end of the channel, jump up onto the ledge ledge at your 9-oclock, then up again to another stone ledge above, again at your 9-oclock. You’ve basically just done a 180-degree turn from the way you were facing when you came up the drainage channel, climbing a couple levels higher. You should see Token #40/40 just in front of you. The reason you leave this to last is that it triggers a couple of guards to move into very inconvenient locations, making it much harder to dispose of Owain’s body. Now just return along the same path back to where you dumped his body, and exit to the hideout to end the level.
