Hello and welcome to the TrueAchievements walkthrough for The Park. Many may thumb their noses at this as another ‘not a real game’ title, but for what it is, it’s an interesting journey into the dark corners of a twisted mind. If you pay close attention to what’s actually being said by the narrator, as well as the set pieces and additional plot items outside the achievement-related stuff, it can provide a good two or three hours of creepy exploration in the visual novel genre.
It’s an extremely linear game, with only four of the fourteen achievements being missable. There are a lot of additional items in the environment that you can examine for more plot and whatnot, but for the achievement addicts, it provides a quick completion without the need to scour the game for each and every item/collectible. There won’t be a hints/tips page, as the game merely involves walking from one place to the next and hitting to trigger the story-telling scenes. You can click left thumbstick to sprint when the narrator isn’t talking to speed things up, but that’s about it. Some haptic feedback is added, although I don’t personally think it adds much to the experience.
The best way to enjoy the game for the money you have spent might be to play it with the lights out and headphones on (preferably surround-sound headphones), but other than that it will likely just be a 40-45 minute easy 1k for most of our readers. Step right up, grab your popcorn, and steady yourself for a few jump-scares (not really).

Story Walkthrough
For speed’s sake, remember to sprint whenever you can by clicking left thumbstick. You can begin using this shortly after entering the park, when you turn left on the first path. From the start, turn right past the front of the car and go through the gap between the gate arm and the fence. Follow the road up to the top of the hill and walk into the mist to unlock missable achievement #1/4, The Mist.
You’ll be forced to return to the park. If it glitches out on you or freezes, just quit out and start a new game. Go to the entrance of the park and watch the short scene before going through the turn-style to enter, unlocking Welcome to the Park.
Go onto the escalator and it you’ll ride up on auto-pilot. At the top, go through the turn-style and straight ahead. When you reach pass the last building on the left, turn left down the path. Follow the kid past the house with the big, screaming mouth for an entrance. Continue past it and follow the path all the way to a river bank with a small wooden dock. Wait for the Swan boat to come around and hit on it to get in and begin the ride.
In the tunnel, keep your view centered (not too high up or down), and turn it as far to the left as you can. This will allow you to afk through this 6-7 minute ride, while still getting missable achievement #2/4, Chad. If you somehow miss the achievement, you can get right back onto the swan after the ride ends. At the end of the ride, you’ll also unlock the next unmissable achievement, Swans, Gingerbread, and Chocolate.
ChadHave a "conversation" with Chad.
Take a left at the top of the dock (hug the river bank) and follow the path to the top of the hill and down the other side. Cross the bridge to the octopus ride and follow the railing to the right. Just before exiting at the first arch you come to, look for a photo on the bench to your right and click to examine it for missable achievement #3/4, Family Ties.
Go through the arch and follow the path past a small boot hand through another arch. Just past it, hug the path to the left to reach the bumper cars ride. Enter through the gate on the right and look for a broken bumper car on the right by the fence with some sparks coming out of a box on top. Hit to examine the device, triggering a cut scene and unlocking missable achievement #4/4 Shocking Revelations. From here on out everything is story-related and unmissable.
Go up onto the bumper car platform and to the lighted area at the far end. Hit to examine the accident report. A short scene will play and you’ll unlock The Shakes.
The scene breaks open the path to the ferris wheel, so head up the stairs and follow the path until you reach the wheel. Go up onto the platform and into the control booth. Activate the lever on the right to slow down the ride three times, which will stop it. Step out and interact with the squirrel cutout to ride the ferris wheel. Once the ride ends, go down the path to the right from the bottom of the platform to find the missing ferris wheel cart on the right side of the path. Interact with the roller coaster ticket inside it to unlock Spin Spin Sugar.
This opens up the path for you to continue down. Follow the path down and to the left to reach the roller coaster, and hear some… interesting dialogue along the way. Head onto the roller coaster platform and interact with the cart to take a ride, unlocking Ups and Downs. After exiting the ride, make sure to grab the flashlight off the table before leaving the area, which will unlock Hope’s Light.
Exit through the turn-style to your left from the flashlight, and go left along the path, up the hill. Once you pass through the arch with the flashing lights and enter Sideshow Alley, go to the booth straight ahead of you and interact with the newspaper on its bannister to unlock Killer Instinct.
Turn left from this banister and go down the path a short way (10-20 paces or so). Look for a gap between the last two buildings on your left. A Cotton Candy sign with flashing lights is sitting in this area between the buildings, for reference. Go in and look for a dead body on the ground behind the right building and examine it. Turn around and exit from between the buildings. Go across the path into the area in the center of all the buildings and interact with the pills sitting on a sawhorse. The screen will go black and you’ll wake up in a room with graffiti on the walls.
Exit through the door with the blue divider past it (same wall as the 1980’s paint), out into the area you were when you grabbed the pills. Turn left out the door and follow the path around. You’ll wind up following a kid and will end up back where you started. Exit through the arch to the right for a short ‘cutting’ scene, which will unlock What a Strange Trip It’s Been.
Head forward down the path until you reach the house from earlier with the large screaming mouth for an entrance. Head inside to unlock House of Horrors.
Inside the house, there are lots of items you can interact with for more of the story, and numerous cutouts that pop up on you. Just follow the largely linear path through the house. You can’t really get lost, as there are only a couple of offshoot rooms that are dead ends. You’ll eventually reach a spot where a guy floats out in front of you and you’ll go through a door in a big open mouth. This begins a looping section where you will walk through the same sequence of rooms several times. Don’t worry, this is intentional, so just continue running the loop until it changes. Take a look at what’s cooking in the oven after a few loops…unnecessary for the completion but unsettling to say the least. That fourth loop just gets creepy. Eventually you’ll reach the end of the loops, and soon after that the end of the game to unlock the final achievement, Dreamlike State.
Congratulations on another quick and easy 1k, and thanks for using my walkthrough!
