Hello adventure fans and achievement hunters, thank you for reading my walkthrough for Thimbleweed Park. If this game looks like an old LucasArts adventure, it's because it was inspired by games like Manic Mansion, the Secret of Monkey Island, and Zac McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders. The gameplay will be quite familiar as well, complete with the classic "9 verb" interface that's used to solve puzzles and progress through the game.
This Walkthrough will guide players through the game and all achievements in a minimal number of playthroughs and with an minimum of backtracking and switching between characters. As always, important characters and locations will be written in bold, important items will be written in italics and important information will be in bold italics.
I should mention that while I've tried to keep the path efficient, there's bound to be a faster route. There's no speed run or time based achievements so I prioritized getting almost all the missable achievements in one playthrough over optimization. As parts of the game are quite nonlinear, you could potentially do things in a completely different order. I wrote this Walkthrough to be easy to follow and I tried to cut out anything unnecessary.
You'll need two playthroughs for a completion: one on Casual difficulty and another playthrough on Hard. Finishing the game on Hard will not unlock the achievement for finishing the game on Casual. Gameplay is the same, the difference is that Casual cuts out certain areas, steps, and puzzles. For example, on Hard you might have to track down an item and find a certain person to give it to, on Casual you just find the person. The other reason you need two playthroughs are the specks of dust achievements. More on those on the next page.
You can do your playthroughs in either order but this walkthrough is written with the Hard playthrough first since that's the order I played them in. All missable achievements are covered in the Hard playthrough with the exception of the "Great Escape" achievement. I delayed that achievement until the Casual playthrough because it would needlessly complicate the already more complex Hard playthrough.
I've been eagerly awaiting this game for a long time and I hope you enjoy my walkthrough as much as I enjoyed working on it.
