4. Tony Hawk's American Wasteland Classic Mode and GapsUpdate notes

This section is to clean up everything else that is not part of the multiplayer or story-mode section of the walkthrough. We will cover these remaining modes to finish up the rest of the game.

Classic Mode:

Classic Mode is more in line with the old school skateboarding games like Pro-Skater. This is where you fulfill goals within a time limit and collect stat points to improve your skater. These are, for the most part, pretty simple, and most of the effort goes into getting COMBO and finding the assorted collectibles in each area.

This playlist covers all of the areas except The Ruins:

The Ruins:

C-O-M-B-O

From in front of you is the letter C. Simply grind to the right towards the O, loop around to jump, and then caveman off your board. Collect M, and get back on the board to grind from M towards B and O. Jump from B to get O or just jump off your board and quickly grab it.

S-K-A-T-E

The letter S is right near-by to the C of COMBO. Just use moon gravity and careful positioning to get it.

K is in a wrecked building to the right of the S.

A is located in the wash area of the level on a red arch.

T is found by going through a sewer tunnel opposite of A and teleporting to the top and dropping onto it.

E is seen from T and can be obtained by spine-transfer or jumping to the rooftops and nabbing it in the left corner of the area.

Road-Kill

One is right near where the S was.

Two is inside the parking garage, ground floor just near the entrance.

Three is located near one of the hydrants that can be found by the wrecked train carriages.

Four is by the Donut Shop hydrant.

Five is in the Donut Shop parking lot corner.

Deece's Donuts

  1. Just above the skyscrapers awning.
  2. Enter the skyscraper, use the spine-transfer to grab the secret tape, and get across to the free-way section. It is there in the middle on a barrier.
  3. Near the big donut, there is a yellow hydrant. Just look towards the donut shop to spot it.
  4. Left from there is a wrecked car, and above it is the donuts.
  5. Final one is near the starting area. There is a ramp on the other side of the wrecked train carriages. Once on this burning building, jump to the left to get them inside the building.

High-Score, High Comb, Pro Score and Sick Score

Fairly easy. Just enter manual and hit the buttons, making sure each hit registers points and a combo multiplier. After doing this for a little bit, you should have enough points.

Secret-Tape:

Enter the sky-scraper to the right, and spine transfer down it to collect this tape.

Natas the hydrants:

1. Just past the wrecked train carriages.

2. By the donut shop.

3. By the donut shop parking lot.

Gaps:

For the gaps, these can vary from very easy to very tough. Some are better done without moon gravity, and for ones done with moon gravity, remember that cavemanning into a grind does work. Also, the videos only show one path to a fair few of the gaps. Some have multiple ways to get them (Rail2rail). Others need to be followed to the letter according to the video to count (Electric wire to Wire). Don't get frustrated. Take breaks as there are alot of them, and some are just plain brutal to get to pop up.

Follow the videos, and you will get them all eventually:
