Once you start a game the tutorial is pretty straightforward. Progress through it until you get to the fight. Use the regular attack of each character, and you will kill the enemies super quick. Afterward, check the girl's body for a scene. During the conversation, I picked "I don't know them". You'll have an achievement (might have popped before the conversation).
After the discussion, you'll regain control. Exit and the guard will talk to you. Go east for another discussion, I choose "What?". After the conversation use the left door to exit. You'll be in the town now. There's a ton of buildings here. The Guardian Barracks is the big circular building, we'll use it as a landmark for directions. Head into the building south of the Barracks with the yellow ! on it, the Foxier Market. You'll have a conversation, and then you'll walk to another stall. Here, you'll get an achievement.
How does one use this paper money?
After all the scenes, exit and head inside the Barracks. Head right to the next room, then continue right to Lanvil and a new person with white hair, talk to them for a scene. Afterward, leave, and near the exit, a guy will accost you. Talk to him as well. Now leave. Head to Volsung's workshop (it's west of the Barracks and has a gray ! on it) and interact with the furnace to gain the ability to craft, interact with the furnace again to open the crafting menu, and snag another achievement.
Gained access to the crafting table.
Now head to the Inn, it's south and a bit east of the Barracks (or east of the Market if you prefer, it has a yellow "!" right now). Head right and talk to the rather buff, red-haired lady behind the counter, Helga. Enter the door to the left. Head right for a scene, and another achievement.
You can sleep at the bed and you can use the wardrobe to change your costume or see what you've unlocked so far. Costumes are just cosmetic, but it's the most "difficult" achievement for this game. Exit and head to the campfire east of the inn. Interact with the big board twice. You can now hire some party members. You only have 4 choices right now, but next time it refreshes the board will have a random assortment of classes. Lyric takes one spot, so you can pick up 3 of the 4. I took the Dragoon, Fencer, and Fusilier, as I discussed on page 2. Make sure to rearrange your party. Enter the bio screen and then press to change your formation. Select Lyric and put her in the 3rd spot, then put the Fencer in 2nd and the Fusilier in 4th. The Dragoon should be first, of course.
Head to the market and talk to the merchant, buy a Fire Kit, and a Fur Vest (it's the diamond tab, push (cn_LT) to swap tabs). To buy them select them both and then press . Put the Fire Kit on the Fencer and the Fur Vest on the Dragoon for now. To equip items, enter the inventory and go to the diamond tab, then select the item and choose who to give it to. Always check the merchants in the market and in the districts when you come across them for goodies. Here's what to keep an eye out for and what to do with them...
- 1 Fire Kit and its upgrades. (overwatch)
- 1 Armor and its upgrades. (for the Dragoon)
- 1 Perfume and its upgrades. (mercantile)
- 1 Lockpick and its upgrades. (sleight)
- 3 Gauntlets and its upgrades. (combat)
- The red color bracelet item for Dragoons. Once you have it you don't need the armor items anymore, as the Dragoon will wear it until the end of the game.
Always buy upgrades when you see them, as they are super important. The fire kit gives a tiny bit of health and 1 overwatch, but its upgrade gives more health, the best one gives 2 Overwatch instead of one and does not have a negative stat. Same for the other items. So ideally you would have 3 pairs of gauntlets, 1 fire kit, 1 perfume, 1 lockpick, and 1 armor at all times. Basically you want the Armor (or the bracelet if you find it) on the Dragoon, and then gauntlets on the other 3 characters when you find some. When you reach treasure chests, put the lockpick on the Fencer. When you reach a campfire, put the Fire Kit on the Fencer. When you reach a merchant, put the Perfume on the Fencer (and later on Lyric when her Merchantry is 5). When you've opened the chests/camped/checked the merchant put the Gauntlets back on them. You also want healing items, though not too many or you won't have room for loot to sell. I would buy a few that heals health and vigor, and maybe a few for just vigor. You can buy the items that cure status effects but I didn't worry about them too much. You typically run into the merchant a few times in a district, so you don't need to go too hard on healing items before you enter a district. We don't have a ton of money to start so we can't buy much, but I'm telling you now so you can keep an eye out as you go. The sooner you get it all the better.
Anyway, head left to the next area and continue left until you talk to a girl named Narae. Leave, and head to the far east place in town, and head inside. Interact with the statue in the foreground twice and then choose to head to the mission in the Entertainment District. Use the right exit. This ends chapter 1 and gives you an achievement.
Go right, and you'll have a scene. Continue right for another scene, and an achievement.
Head further right for another scene, choose "Tell him the truth." and then "Choose to be vague". Head right to leave, then head into the east area. Here's where the hard part comes in, exploring districts. Districts are made up of a bunch of regions. On the district map, you pick a path to go that leads to a specific region. The room layout is always the same, but what is in the room is always random. It could be a fight, or a bunch of treasure chests, or a random event. For this reason, I can't really give you much of a walkthrough, because I don't know what you'll encounter. Each region tends to have 3-4 rooms to the exit, so which regions you pick doesn't matter much. When they do I will instruct you on where to go. Otherwise, just pick whatever.
As for getting through the regions, rush through to the exit every time. Don't bother exploring as this increases your terror and you do not want every room to become a fight, because that probably ends your run unless you're almost to the exit. Open the map () when you enter a region and just head to the exit. When you reach a campfire, you should always camp unless you have full or almost full health/vigor. You may encounter 2 campfires in 3 rooms, and then not see another for 15 rooms. Once you finish the region, you'll be back on the district map, and you can take another path to the next region. Note that there is usually a place to camp (the icon when you approach it is a bunch of crafting icons, I guess). You can't heal vigor/health here by sleeping but you can make items and also use items. This is important because you can refill health/vigor with items if you are low and haven't reached a campfire recently.
As for the actual rooms, fights can't be avoided so you have to do those. If you reach a treasure room, make sure to loot everything. If it's a random event room, if the event has an option to just avoid the event, do so. For example, there's one where you run into an old man, just choose to keep moving. Some don't let you do this, like when you find some food, or run into the little girl. When these events happen it will have you select a character, the character will be the one that gets the benefits/penalty. Always use whoever has the highest vigor. Other events do not have choices. For example, there is an event where you'll run into some allies from the town, and you can recruit party members here. If you've lost a character you can hire someone to replace them, but if someone has died the run is probably donezo anyway. Finally, always make sure to check the merchant when you come across him to see if he has anything you need. Purchase healing items if you need them and sell any materials you've acquired.
The last thing to talk about is the dumb way the map is set up. Some of the rooms are vertical and some are horizontal, I have no clue why. Basically, if a horizontal room has a path on the ends, it's the edge of the screen. If the line is going into the top of it, it's a door in the background. If the line is going into the bottom of it, the door is in the foreground. All the vertical rooms are aligned with the left side of the screen at the bottom. It...probably sounds super confusing, but once you've gone through a region or two it should make more sense. The Steam version got an update that has much better maps, and I thought we'd get it by now, so I didn't bother doing any maps myself. Not a good choice...
Anyway, progress through the district until you reach the boss area. When you approach it, the icon will be a skull, that signifies the boss area. It's not actually straight to the boss fight, you have to go through a small dungeon first. This is always the same, so I can provide a walkthrough for it. I've provided a video of me going through the district, which is just a sample run. Note that sometimes RNG will just completely fuck you over and there's nothing you can do about it. However, if you do fail you'll still have the materials you can sell for money and the items you gained. If it looks like you're going to die, just return to town and try again.
Head right to the next area. Head right for a fight, then continue right and go up the stairs. Go right to the next room and then go all the way right to the wall. You'll see a light blue chest, open it for the Carbon Suit costume. Go up the stairs by you. Go right to the next room. Go right until Lyric says something. Backtrack to the previous room and enter the vent nearby and loot the chest then exit. There's another vent to the left, but there's a fight on the way. There's a chest with a bunch of healing items though, so if you're struggling it'll probably be worth it.
Anyway, go back to the first vent and go down the stairs by it, and enter the vent. Go right to find a campfire, camp and heal as needed. You do not lose vigor when you're in the final region, but I would heal it up anyway because you don't gain terror doing it. It's also nice to be in the habit of doing it because later enemies can do damage to your vigor, though they are rare. When you're done, head right and go up the ladder. Go right, talk to the guy, go right to the next area. You'll see a green mist, this signifies a boss. It's also the mist that shows up when your terror goes above the red line on the geistometer. Progress right for the first boss of the game.
This boss is in the 2nd slot, unlike all the others. You can chew through her allies and then focus on her, but everything dies when she does, so the effort is wasted IMO. Start combat as you normally would, the Fusilier uses rally (or uses his special bullet on the boss if he doesn't have rally), the Dragoon taunts, and Lyric uses her third skill. However, for the Fencer, have her use her 3rd skill on the boss to stun her. Continue having everyone attack the boss, using their 3rd skills as much as they can on her. If the Dragoon starts to get low, I would stop using taunt so they will hit your other members, they won't take enough damage to die. Every boss has a special attack, their portrait will show up the screen super big when they do. This bosses' special attack is simply healing some HP. Barring some unlucky misses on attacks, she should die in the third round of combat. You'll get an achievement for beating her.
FYI, if you are overloaded it is fine, you won't be fighting more. Head right. This is one of many choices you can make throughout the game. The Oksae we got can be given to Gerrard to the right of you, or Maru Han at the Market back in town. Each gives a different costume, so you have to pick one now and do the other on your next playthrough. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT GIVE IT TO GERRARD!!!!! You need an item for a side quest later, if you give this Oksae to Maru Han you can just talk to him in town for the item when we get the quest. If, like me, you give the Oksae to Gerrard, you'll be forced to go through the first district again just to get the fucking item for the side quest for some stupid reason. Gerrard still sells to you if you don't give it to him, so I have no clue why the developers decided to fuck you over so hard for making the choice.
Don't leave quite yet. Check the box just left of the woman we fought for some goodies after talking to her the first time. Then talk to her again and leave. You'll have a scene, then head left to leave. Head to the Market and find Maru Han, and give him the Oksae for an achievement. Enter the market and go left to the next room, then go left until you meet Narae, then go down the stairs behind her. Maru Han is to your right.
Head to the inn and talk to Helga and then rest. When you approach the fireplace you'll get a package, it has the costume, Asadali Garb. Next, go down the stairs to the right of Helga. Talk to the lady in red to the left for a side quest, choose to speak with her. Now head to the Market and talk to Yae-sol BUT! pick "Ask about the dream" and then "Tell her she's confused". This should unlock an achievement.
Hear Yaasol's Dream about The Coma.
If you ask to see her wares you can't choose the two above options. It appears to be glitched now (perhaps after the update that fixed the costume achievement), because I got the achievement before I ever made a choice, but just to be safe pick those two options before moving on. Make sure to sell all your loot and pick up any items in the shops you need. I picked up a lot of healing items in the last dungeon that contributed a lot of weight, so make sure you sell most of it.
Now continue left to the next area, then continue left until you see a girl in green with a guy behind her, talk to Narae. Choose "Ask about the treasure", then "mention Charlotte", then "Tell her what I know". Exit back to town, go south of the Barracks down the stairs, then go west to a tent with the grey ! over it. Head inside. Head past the first tent and enter the second (the icon should be a yellow !). Now talk to the woman just past it, Sitara. Choose to "Tell the truth". You'll get a box. Go to your room in the inn to open it and get The Tantini costume, which will give you 5 costumes and an achievement.
Exit (you'll have a short scene) and then head to the Library, which is the building just west of the Barracks. Go left a little bit and talk to the guy. After the conversation, you'll be told about perk points. You can spend these to increase Lyric's attributes. I talked about it on page 2, but your first point should go in Awareness. While Merchantry is the main skill in this "build", spending your first perk point on it would only make it 3, which is the same as your Fencer, so it wouldn't change the way you do things now. Awareness will make Lyric attack earlier in each combat round, and we will level it to 5 eventually anyway so the point is no wasted. Anyway, head into Argrim Manor, west of the Library. Go to the end and enter the door in the background, then go up the stairs in the background just left of you. Go left to talk to Prince Gunnar. Exit and head to the Ascension room (where you went to the Entertainment District).
Talk to Volsung here, then head to the inn and sleep. In this area simply head right until the scene ends. Talk to Helga, then head to the Migrant Shanty Town. It's south of the Barracks down the stairs. Go east to find it. Inside, head right one screen then go down the stairs, and down another set. Head left two screens, then head left to talk to Hilda. Make sure to choose "Mention her quarrel with Hakon at the Ascending Room". Once the scene is over exit this place and go to the Ascending Room, talk to the guy right in front. Pick both options and then go to the Hunter's Camp. Talk to the guy sitting on the ground by the healers (right of the board). Ask all three options. Head to the inn and talk to the lady sitting on a chair by herself, next to the stairs going down (right of Helga). Choose all 3 options then leave. Head to Argrim Manor and talk to the dwarf by the furnace, talking to a lady. Choose all 3 options. Return to Hilda. You must pick the right person to get a costume, that person is the Dwarf (you won't get the costume yet FYI). Return to Argrim Manor. Go left and up through the door, then go left until Hakon talks to you. Then talk to him again. Return to Hilda to get your reward, the Columbo costume.
Buy anything you need to. We're moving on to the next section. When you're ready to, head to the Ascending room and choose the Residential District (it's spelled wrong in-game). Go left to start chapter 3. You'll break the frostfence, make sure to move Lyric back again. Go left for a scene, then the next dungeon starts. You actually want to return to town. Quests are chapter-specific, and they unlock when a chapter starts, which means we have some new ones. Talk to Helga to start her side quest. Now head to the Market. Go left one screen, then enter the door past the first guy at a desk. Go left to find Mahoram, talk to him twice. He will give you a quest.
These two quests are much more complicated than the previous ones. We need to find specific regions in the actual dungeons to complete these. You may remember there are sometimes forks, so we need to take the right paths to find the quest spots, and I will point them out here. Return to the Residential District. During this district (at a point that seems to be random) you'll have an event where you go right and find a guy you interrogate, I chose "Threaten him with fire". This appears to be a story event that always happens, so I don't think it affects much, but just so you know.
Take the south path, which leads to the Ruined Apartments. Once you finish RA, take the south path again to reach Washer Street. Go through this region until you reach the room with the exit. You'll see a door partially obstructed by a table, enter it and head right for a scene. Leave the district. Do this by pressing and selecting the red flag. The mention of losing progress refers to the dungeon itself, you have to start from the beginning when you leave. You keep any items you've bought or found. Back in town go to Shanty Town, go right 2 screens, and then down the stairs at the end of the room. Talk to the guy right of you, then go down the stairs nearby and then left 2 screens and talk to the lady by the pot, and then go back to the guy. Return to Helga at the inn to get the Valkyrie Armor costume.
Return to the Residential District. Take the south path to Ruined Apartments again. This time once you finish RA take the north path to Facility Street. In the exit room of this dungeon, you'll see a partially obstructed door, you can enter it. Talk to the guy here and then leave. Now go to the Entertainment District (first district) and head for the Hydra Club. Take the west path for Vacant Street, then west again for Adventurer's Path, take the only path to Gamers' Row, and then the north path for Diamond Road. After you clear that area, go north and you'll see a building you can enter when the path turns east for the first time. Head through the foreground door and go right, talk to the guy. Return to Mahoram to get the Phantom Thief Suit costume. With that done you can go to the Residential District properly. Head through to the boss area. Hopefully, you got some good stuff in your short runs for the side quests.
As for the boss area, head right for a fight, then head right to the next area. Go down one flight of stairs, then go right and interact with the dog. Now go left past the stairs and grab the lever on the wall. Now go down the next flight of stairs. Head right and interact with the machine to open the door, then go right to the next area. Go right to the corner and grab the bone, then return to the dog and talk to it to get the key. Now backtrack to the entrance of the area and enter the door near it. Head right and enter the door in the background. Progress right for a fight, then head right to the next area. Enter the foreground door near you and go right to the campfire, use it to heal up. Go up the ladder left of you and then enter the door to your right. Head right for the boss.
This boss is in slot 3 because he's a coward. Have the Dragoon taunt, the Fusilier hit the 1st enemy, Lyric uses her 3rd skill, and the Fencer stuns the boss. Then concentrate on the first enemy until he dies, then focus fire the boss until he dies. His special attack does no damage but messes up your formation. It appears to reverse it, but maybe it's random, not sure. Either way, get every back in their proper spots and then finish off the boss. After you beat the boss, you'll get an achievement.
Head right to a new screen, go right for a scene. Now talk to the guy to make a choice. This is one of a few choices that affect the ending you get. All 3 have an achievement and a costume related to them. We're gonna do the light ending this time. Choose to "bring him back". You'll get an achievement.
You'll have a bunch of scenes. We have some side stuff to do before moving on. Head back to the library and talk to Balthasar. Head to the Argrim Manor next. Talk to Hakon, then the prince. This will unlock the Dwarven Armor costume. Now talk to Volsung at his forge, which starts a quest related to the endings. Talk to Zaquard in the barracks. Go to the inn and sleep. Do the same as you did last time, just head right until it stops. Now head to the Healing Hall, just to the left of the Ascending Room. Go right one room and then talk to the guy by the bed to start a side quest. Go back to the first room and enter the door nearby. Go up the stairs, then go up the next set. Go right for a conversation. Make sure to pick "It was a dream of peace." when you reach the prompt. You can leave now.
Head back to Balthasar in the Library and talk to him. Go down the stairs and check the book just right of you on the table. Return to Balthasar. Now head to the Market and talk to Narae. Go left one screen and then you'll find her by the fireplace. Enter the room with Mahoram and go left, you'll have a short scene. Talk to Maru Han in the back. Head to the inn and talk to the male dwarf in front of the fireplace, right of Helga. Now go to Shanty Town. Head right one screen, then down the stairs. The cat is right of you. Return to Narae, who will tell you it's the wrong cat. Return to the spot and a different cat will be there, interact with it. You'll automatically return to Narae and get the Catsuit costume. That should be costume 10, which gives you an achievement.
Next, go the Healing Hall and talk to the guy that gave us the quest to get the Green Riding Hood costume. With that done we can move on. Your 2 perk points can go into Merchantry, and from now on when checking shops put the perfume item you have on Lyric, not the Fencer. When you're ready, head to the Ascending Room and go to the Industrial District. Go right one room to start chapter 4. I'm not sure how this plays out if you do it a different way, but here's how I did it. First I took the west path to the region Ruined Mining Village. When you reach the exit room go right and you'll have a scene. After it, go right to the robot, then go right to leave. Before going into the next dungeon, we need to do something. Follow the path north past the dungeon, then go up the stairs to some train tracks. Go east to where they end, then go up the cliff by the crane to the statue hands. Go across them to the wooden bridge and go to the end, where you'll see an action icon, go up. Go west to the statue head, then up to above the square on the helmet, and enter the area. Interact with the bear to get the Polar Bear costume. Backtrack to the dungeon by the stairs and head inside.
After the next dungeon, you should have a scene shortly after you move on the district map. Move east a bit for a scene, then back on the district map the next region should be Voltek Laboratory, but make sure you camp and heal up, especially vigor. The next boss can do damage to your vigor. Once you're ready, enter the door by the robot. You can go right to the next screen and pick up the codex entries, but what you need to do is interact with the weird face on the wall in the first room twice. In here you make another either/or choice for costumes. You need to choose "Use the Adamant Heart" this time (you won't get the costume for awhile). The exit is to the right, but there's a boss in the next room, so be ready for it. The enemies aren't too hard but the main problem is the boss can use an attack that lowers vigor. Use the same process to beat him as you have previous bosses. The 2nd enemy can shield the first 3, but for some reason his shield does not block true damage fully, so what I did was have Lyric use her 3rd skill, then have the Dragoon kill the 2nd enemy. From here kill the first enemy and then kill the boss. As usual, use your Fencer stun first turn.
Sadly, this boss is not the end of the district and we still have a while to go. If you need to you can return to town and heal up (everything we did with the robot does not need to be repeated) but if you're healthy enough, you can keep going to the final boss of the district. There is no more story stuff until the boss region.
Go right and go up the ladder. Go right and go up into the tunnel. Go right to the next screen. Go right to a fight, then go into the foreground. Go left to find a campfire, and just past it is a frozen body with a key. Go back to the previous room and go all the way left and open the gate with your new key. Go left, and past the board with the helmet is another frozen body, get the key from it. Backtrack one room and go right to a new room, then right through the gate we have a key for. Go right until you are told you need parts. Return to the room with the campfire and grab the fuse just left of it. Return to the machine and put the fuse in, then operate the console to the right of the fuses. Answer "Reunion" "Heart" "Authority". Go through the door that just opened. Go right to the next room, then go right for a boss. The boss does quite a bit of damage, so you'll want to make sure you either taunt her with your Dragoon, or stun her with Distracting Blow. Ideally, you use the first turn of everyone to taunt the boss, then kill the first enemy. Use Distracting Blow on the boss' second turn and kill the second enemy, then kill the boss. The enemy in the back only attacked once, and shielded every other turn, so I just ignored it. The boss' special attack appears to just be an attack that hits everyone and adds no status effects, so not too bad. After you win you'll have a scene and after that an achievement.
Use the teleporter to return to town. After the scene, chapter 5 starts.
Be very careful in this chapter. The saving seems to be weird. The boss killed one of my characters in one hit, so I reloaded a save to do the fight again and try to see what it was for the walkthrough. I was about 10-15 minutes back and my character was still dead and everyone had the status effects from the boss fight. If the game crashes on you or something at this point, purposely let Lyric die (put her in the front and don't use Dragoon taunt). Go left to a new room and go left to the end of the room, you can recruit here, to the right you can buy stuff. Anyway, head left to the next room. You can go left to the dead-end to recruit people. Talk to Divinia then go up the stairs. Talk to Talindra left of you, who will give you a Mysterious Seed. Go left to the next area. Go down the stairs to find a campfire you can use to heal. Go back up the stairs and then go left to the next area. Go left for a fight, then continue left to another area. Follow the path to a scene. For some reason, you don't do anything, and you get an achievement.
Follow the path west and enter the area. Go left for a fight. Go left to the next area. Now go left and then up the stairs. Go right to talk to Sitara. Head left to the next area to find a campfire you can use, then return to the area with Sitara. Now go up the stairs and then right to a fight. From this fight and the previous you should have acquired Luxury Items, which is that super heavy item you can turn in for a ton of hellion. If you like you can backtrack to migrant shanty town and sell them, and check the shop to see if it has anything you need. Anyway, from that previous fight go right and then up the stairs to the overworld. Go north and then right for a scene. Go left for a fight. After you win go left and enter the door. There's a campfire to the left. Go up the stairs and go left for a scene, and an achievement.
Dalearch's location was compromised to aid the Green Flame's raid.
Go down both sets of stairs, then go right to the next area (a few conversations on the way). Go up the stairs, then go right for a scene. Go left and check the board for the book, then return to Balthasar. Exit right. Head south to enter a new area. Head right for a boss fight. This boss has a special mechanic that makes it super dangerous. Its special attack gives the characters it hits a status effect (the icon is a scorpion tail). If she uses the special attack and it hits someone with the status effect, they instantly die regardless of health or vigor. So basically you're on a timer to kill her before she uses her special attack twice. The process for killing her is the same as every boss though. You can try NOT taunting with the Dragoon first turn, and hoping she hits your other characters, then you can taunt next turn and hopefully avoid someone dying. Once she dies you get an achievement.
You'll have some scenes, and then you'll get another achievement.
You can store stuff and sleep if you like, exit left to move on. After the scene talk to Divinia and Sitara, then go down the stairs. Go right to the next room to find Volsung, talk to him to get the Voltek Maker costume. Backtrack to the previous room and exit left to start chapter 6.
After the scenes, talk to everyone. When talking to Prince Gunnar, answer "Focus on Lanvil". Go back up to where Celest was blocking the stairs. Talk to her, then Divinia, then Celest again, and Divinia one last time. After some scenes, you'll get another Mysterious Seed, which is actually the Sylvani Warden Vestments costume. Exit left. Head back to the Haven (what the Guardian Barracks are now) and talk to the people i the first area, it should unlock an achievement.
Matriarch Talindra sacrificed herself to block the tunnel leading to Dalearch.
In the Inn you can go to your room and change your costume, I didn't see a place to do that in the new "town" so I guess if you want to check what is unlocked, you must come here. The bed does not work right now. Leave and head to the Library. Go downstairs and exit left. Go all the way left and open the chest for the Sailor Lunera costume. Exit and go toward Shanty Town (if it still existed) for a scene. During the conversation choose "I was trapped with a hostile being". Go south to the yellow ! and enter. You'll find an Ascending Room here. Use it to enter the Temple District.
Go right and up the ladder. Go right, when you reach Isabel you'll have a short scene and get an achievement.
Take the east dungeon. When you're back on the map, go toward the west dungeon (BUT DON'T GO IN YET). Go straight south of the exit over the dark grey (just left of the red text) and when you reach the wooden thing you will see a " ?", interact with it to enter an area. Go right through a bunch of traps, you'll eventually reach a chest, open it for the Laughing Gas costume. There's a second place we need to go here, but you'll need to restart the dungeon sadly. From the beginning take the west path, the west path again, and then the only path. You should see some tentacles, stand at the south edge of them and move west into the building, you should see a "?" pop up. Head inside. Talk to the first guy and an achievement should unlock.
Go right until you pass a hooded figure with an instrument, just past him is a bench. Behind the bench is a chest, open it for the Ghost Vigilante Uniform costume. There's also a desk you can interact with to get healing items in this room. You can leave now. Progress to the boss area.
Go up the stairs then go right to the next room. Go right for a fight, then continue right to the next room. Continue right to another room. Go right for a campfire. Return to the previous room and go up the stairs. Go left and get the key on the table. Go down the stairs and go left two rooms. Go left and you'll see a door with a green creature on it, you can open it now. Head inside. Go right for a boss. Not nearly a bad as Ms. OHKO, though she is still annoying. First off, her special skill revives her allies. The healer in the back can heal for tons of HP and gives an effect that heals 1 HP for a few turns after. I did the fight quite differently in the video, and in hindsight, my brain must have broke because I did it so stupidly. If you have the +2 combat gauntlets your Blood Mage can 1HKO the enemy in the 4th slot. So ideally you want to have the Dragoon taunt, Lyric attack, Blood Mage kills the priest, Fencer stuns the boss. Then cut down the first enemy and go after the boss. When the boss revives her allies, repeat the pattern. For some reason, in the video, I was obsessed with killing both front enemies and THEN the priest. I don't know why...if you don't have +2 combat gauntlets for everyone, have the Blood Mage attack the priest and have Lyric use her 2nd skill to finish the priest. The boss has a skill that lowers everyone's combat, which can make the fight drag on quite a bit. However their overall damage output is pretty low, so you should be able to power through it.
After you win go right for a scene. Head right to the next room, then go down the stairs. Go left and talk to the girl. Go up the stairs by her. Go right twice to find a campfire. Backtrack two rooms and go left for a fight, then left to a new room. Go left for a fight, then left and up the stairs. Grab the stuff on the table then exit left. Loot the chest, go back to the previous room and go down the stairs. Go left and then interact with the altar and input these four answers in this order: teeth, cube, knife, voodoo doll. Return to the previous room and go through the newly opened door by the stairs. Go right for a boss.
This guy is a super big pain for a number of reasons. First off the coward is in the 4th slot so it's harder to reach him to stun him. The second enemy can shield all 4 enemies, making it hard to kill them quickly. I would pay special attention to the turn order in this one because after an enemy attacks his shield goes down. So you want to save your 3rd skills until enemies attack and drop their shield, though you still want the Dragoon to taunt and the Fencer to stun the boss. The boss' special attack is just a lot of damage to 2 characters, it did 6 damage to 2 characters, so it'll only be a problem if you don't finish the fight relatively quickly, as the damage can stack up. Note there's a Gloom in this fight and his healing can get annoying, so this might be the only boss fight where you actually want to try and kill everyone, though I just went to town on the boss after I killed the first two instead of bothering with the gloom.
After you win choose to spare him for a costume, and the ending. Back in town enter Haven and talk to Celest, you'll get an achievement.
You'll also get the Guardian Cuirass costume. Go back to the Ascending Room and go to the Residential District. Go right for a scene, and a side quest. Start by going through the Residental District. Go south to Ruined Apartments, then north to Facility Street, north to Dead Man's Alley, and then south to the Sewer System. After Sewer System you'll see an open sewer pipe south of you, enter it. Head right for a fight, then right for another fight with a boss, I guess. The fight is pretty simple. You can either bulldoze through the line or have the blood mage take out the priestess and the other guy in the back and then deal with the melee. Now leave and head to the Industrial District. Go west to the Ruined Mining Village. After that go north up the path as if you're climbing the statue, you'll see the orphanage on the railroad track. Head inside and head right for a fight. After you win you'll have a scene, at the end you get the Naziri Inquisitor Vestments costume.
You should only be missing Wraithveil (#3), Revolutionary Raiment (#8), Celestine Armor (#12), Assassin's Bodysuit (#16), Augur Gear (#19), Queen's Regalia (#20) and Hero's Garb (#21). The first four come from doing the other either/or choices we didn't do this playthrough, the last 3 are for endings. This is the point of no return for this playthrough; if you want to do anything now is the time. When you're ready, talk to Zaquard, you'll get an achievement.
Exit left. Follow the path for a scene where you need to make a choice, choose "To bring justice to this realm". Continue to the objective. Talk to Zaquard. After some scenes, DO NOT SLEEP. Use the exit (by the campfire). Go left to Zaquard and talk to him. Pick all 3 options, at some point an achievement will unlock.
Now go right to the next area, then talk to Isabel to your right. Do the same for an achievement.
Now return to the area with the campfire and sleep (to the right). You need to move the camera with the left stick to the right. You'll get some text, keep doing that until the scene ends. After that go up to start the end of the game.
This is a dungeon like the others, though you do not make choices as to where to go. Head right and go up, then go right to another room to reach the dungeon proper. You cannot sleep or heal vigor at most campfires, so you'll need healing goodies. I used the Devespresso Brews I found in the room with the Ghost Vigilante costume. You can also buy Med Crates from the shopkeepers you meet if they have them, I had about 6k by now and the kits are 220 each, so I could load up. When you reach the exit that forces you use to use a campfire, you can rest here for health/vigor. When you take the exit, you'll be in a room with tubes. Go right to the next area, and then right for a scene. Exhaust all the dialog options to continue. Go right to the next room for a boss fight.
I had Lyric attack the priestess in the back and then finished it with the blood mage that got their turn first. Then I chewed through the first two enemies and then stun locked the boss to kill him with my two blood mages. The boss's special attack either heals him or summons an enemy, nothing too special. Once you win the fight you'll have another one. Don't read the spoiler until the fight starts so nothing gets ruined!
After you win, you'll have scenes. After the scenes you can move the camera again. You can move it right or left and read about things that happened, or move all the way right to Balthasar and Lyric. Then you'll have a short scene, and that's the end. You should pick up 2 achievements (they unlocked for me while I was looking at the things on the wall). One for the ending and one for your 20th costume, the Augur Gear costume.
Now it's time for playthrough 2. DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR FIRST SAVE. Read the first few paragraphs on the next page before you do anything else.
