WeakWood Throne - Walkthrough overviewUpdate notes

So what we have here is a walkthrough for WeakWood Throne.

Hide ads

It's an insanely basic ARPG that will only take a couple hours to complete. You have to do every quest and find 3 keys to access the final boss. Since every achievement is tied to either a quest, the 3 keys, or the final boss, the entire achievement list is story related. Not going to include a page 2 with tips because there just ain't a lot to this game.

WeakWood Throne - Story walkthrough

Start by going into the settings and picking Game, then turn on auto-aim. Choose new game to start. Follow the path, reading the controls as you go. I played on PC, I'll include the Xbox controls.

Attack is left click (Xbox : hold cn_RSc in the direction you want to attack and press cn_RT)

dodge is right click (Xbox : cn_LT)

holding right click let's you skate to move faster (Xbox : Hold cn_LT).

I opens inventory, J opens the character page, L shows quests.

On Xbox press cn_Y to open the menu and then use cn_LB and cn_RB to switch between the Character, Inventory and Quest tabs.

You can use cn_LT and cn_RT to swap between the weapon/armour/item/quest item tabs in the inventory screen.

Anyway, follow the path north until you move to the next screen. For combat, you can swing your weapon at the blue enemies and stagger them until they die pretty easily. The red crabs are different, because they have far more HP, and will block after they take 4 hits. To defeat them, hit them until they block, then back off. When they stop blocking and come at you again, do the same until they die. Continue north to the next screen, which is a town, you'll find a guy with a yellow "?" over his head east of you, Lewis has a quest for you (Unscheduled Dinner). You can also see him on the minimap. Talk to him to accept the quest.

You should have levelled up at least once by now. Enter the character menu and you'll see you have some skill points and 5 choices. I never put points in anything but Dexterity because I used a bow the whole time, and it seemed to be the best weapon. I suggest just putting every point in Dexterity as you level up. It will increase the bow's damage and allow you to use better bows. Now head north through the water to the armour merchant (armour icon on minimap). By her you'll see 18 trees, they drop grapes that sell for 15 gold each. We'll come back to these shortly. For now head north to the next screen. Head west and then north to find some red crabs guarding the crab leaves we need. Kill them and grab all 5 (hit them with your sword) and then return to Lewis to finish his quest and get your first achievement.

Unscheduled Dinner

You delivered 5 pieces of crab to Lewis.

Offline Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.Main Storyline - These achievements are gained automatically by progressing through the main game modes.

Open the "character page" and you should have enough skill points to get 6 Dexterity. Now you want to destroy the grape trees by the armour shop until you have 300 gold for a bow, and ideally do it until you have 500 for the two pieces of armour from the armour seller. Lastly, you'll need arrows. You get 270 gold from each set of 18 grapes, so 4-5 runs at the tree should be enough. To respawn the trees, simply go a screen north and come back. You must sell the grapes to the "Stuff Merchant "(potion icon on map) and obviously the merchant with the bow you need to buy is the sword icon on the map. Equip the bow and armour in the inventory screen, you don't need to equip the arrows.

Once you have all that and maybe 100 arrows or so, you're ready to go. Note that each time you leave the screen the merchants restock, so you can buy more than 3 quivers if you like, you can't have enough arrows. When you're ready, talk to Lewis and take his quest (What to Read). Talk to Martin southwest of him to start another (Butterfly Hunter). Head north a screen again. North of you you'll see a chest, and 2 lizard enemies north of it. To use it, on PC at least you simply aim with the mouse and hold down right click and it will fire arrows continuously until you let go. A cursor will appear to show you the general range but the arrows have an arc. Note that they both get stuck on objects pretty easily, so you can get them stuck and then shoot them, though arrows also don't go through objects. Regardless you can shoot them while moving backward and the stagger from getting hit should keep them off you. Shoot them until they block, then wait for them to stop blocking shoot again. You'll be doing this for the rest of the game. Once they're dead loot the chest and loot the bottles on the ground by attacking them to break them.

One of them has the butterfly we need, so return to Martin and turn in his quest and then go to Lewis to turn in his. This will give you two achievements.

Butterfly Hunter

You caught the butterfly that was stolen from Martin.

Talk to Martin for the next quest (Beef Stew). Head two screens north. You can find the vegetables you need in the northeast (carrots) and northwest (tomatoes) corners of the screen. Kill the enemies and take 'em. Get at least 6 more carrots for a later quest, then return to Martin for an achievement.

Now head north a screen and then east one, then talk to Hermit Greg to start a quest (There Were Few Fish). Head southeast to find the cats, try to get them 1 or 2 at a time but if you trigger them all run back while shooting until they get close, then move away and do it again until they're dead. Once the cat with a mask dies the quest is done, then talk to Hermit Greg for an achievement.

There were few fish

You found Martin's sword near the Hermit's house.

You should be level 8 or thereabouts. Go east one screen and fight enemies until you hit level 9, which if you've put every point in dexterity, means you have 18. This means you can use what I assume is the best bow in the game (I didn't find better). To get it, from where you are now go south one screen, then east twice. You'll find the Legendary Bow in the northeast corner. It has a base damage of 15 and I did 20 total with the bonus from Dexterity, so quite the boost. Go west two screens and you'll find Forest Zoz in the south area of the screen. There are slugs here, they have a ranged attack so make sure you stay away from them unless you're shooting them. If you are they will be staggered and can't shoot back. Talk to Forest Zoz to take the quest (Lillian). If you need arrows go west twice and stock up in town.

Go south a screen to find Lillian (Go east twice from town first if you had to restock). She has 400 HP and has three attacks. If the screen flashes red crosshairs will appear on the ground, avoid them. If you see a red crosshair appear right by her, she's going to throw 3 shockwaves, circle around her while she does it. For the last part, she shoves her trident into the ground and summons 3 of those blue slimes. You can move away from her and deal with them to avoid her attacks while you do. She didn't seem to get any new attacks as she lost HP, so the fight is pretty straightforward. Your new bow will wreck her in 20 arrows. Once she is dead return to Forest Zoz for an achievement.

Lillian

You defeated Lillian and took her key.

Larry - (Bets are Bad) - I have no clue what this is for because when I turned the quest in he didn't take anything from me. Based on the description the "knife" item is what he wants. The weapon shop sells one.

There's a "croco" in the northeast corner that, when I killed it, updated Croco from Neighbouring Farm. Go south another screen and talk to Zina to start a quest (Healing Herbs for Rebecca). She actually wants Bush Leaves, which are from the grass plants we've been seeing since the start of the game. There's plenty here if you don't have enough. You'll get an achievement when you talk to Zina.

Stock up on a ton of arrows, then go east one screen and north twice. Talk to Liza here and start (Crocozon). He is just east of her. He has 3 attacks. The first is the shockwaves Lillian used, except he shoots 4 instead of 3. When he spikes his sword into the ground, he'll shoot 3 waves at once. For his final attack he'll rear back and then spit acid at you. If you stand juuuuust close enough for your arrows to hit you can attack him without getting hit by the shockwaves, but the acid can still hit you so pay attention to him so you can see it coming. Once he dies talk to Liza for an achievement.

Crocozon

You defeated Crocozon and took his key.

Head south one screen, east twice, then north once. Here you'll find Sylvester, he has a bow. His first attack shoots 4 arrows one at a time, the second shoots 3, and the third shoots 3 but they're enchanted. Stay just inside attack range and move back and forth when he shoots. Once he dies you get an achievement.

Go south 3 screens, then east 4 screens. Honestly I just started running past enemies because they're all bullet sponges and the combat is really basic. You get such a small damage boost from levelling up an extra point or two of damage isn't going to suddenly change things. Anyway from here go north one screen and you'll find the Weakwood King here. He has a 3 shockwave attack and screen flash lightning similar to what Lillian does, but he summons annoying skeletons. At about half HP he started summoning them faster than I could kill them. So I lead all the skeletons far away, ran to the boss and hit him a few times, and then ran far the other way and did it again. Once he dies, you'll get an achievement.

The Weakwood King

You defeated The Weakwood King.
