Wordament Snap Attack (WP) - Walkthrough overviewUpdate notes

Welcome to the walkthrough of Wordament: Snap Attack. When I first played this game, I found it very difficult and very different from the other Wordament games. Though after playing it for a while I got better at it, and even finished in first place quite some times now. The game is much like scrabble, you start with 7 letters, which you can place on the board. The only difference is that a couple of words are already placed, and for 2 and a half minutes, you can try to make as many words with the 7 letters and with the placed words. This can be both single words (single snaps) and multiple words overlapping each other (multisnaps). In the 2 minutes 30 seconds, you’ll be competing against other persons playing the game. At the end of the 2 minutes 30 seconds, you can see what snaps you made, what the best scoring snaps where for that round, and what you scored in comparison with the rest of the players. (Thus much like Wordament, which has similar features.) Most of the achievements (around two-third) are quite easy to get. Then there are some achievements that require some grinding (playing 500 games and earning 2.5 million points) , and one that specifically requires some skill and luck: Play a snap in each of the following shapes.

Let’s get started with the achievements.

Wordament Snap Attack (WP) - General hints and tips

In my opinion, only one achievement really requires some skill/word knowledge, namely the Get in Shape achievement. I’ll give tips for this achievement, when discussing this particular achievement. The Hints and Tips page will be used for tips on scoring (a lot of) points. It’s not really necessary to be able to score a lot of points in a game, though it will make the grind shorter when you score more points per game.
The most lucrative way of earning points is by “goldmining”. The basic idea is to create a word with 4-6 of your own letters (a single snap) on a “times 3 tile”. Then use your remaining letters to create as many 2 or 3-letters words possible (Thereby also using one letters of the first snap you made). If you’ve got a good first single snap, which both is worth quite some points in itself and has a lot of possibilities of scoring 2 and 3 letters words, you can easily get 1000-2000 words out of a single combination of these multisnaps. I always first go for all two letter words, then for multiple 2 letter words in one snap, and after that for 3 letter words. You will also get a little bonus when you use all 7 letters in one snap. When you think you’ve made all possible snaps with the first single snap, try to find a new 4-6 letter single snap on a “times 3 tile” and start over again.
There are sometimes games when I’m not finding a good 4-6 letter word. Those are the games that simply don’t have a favorable set of letters, and words that are already placed. In these games, I suggest to either make a lot of low scoring multi-snaps, or to try and find some very high scoring multi-snaps.
Here are two videos with tips (made by the developers):

Wordament Snap Attack (WP) - Story walkthrough

Launch your first game and make a snap. This is can be by adding just one letter to one of the words that are already on the board.

First Snap

You made your first Snap

Now press the recall button (the button situated at the bottom left of your screen), and press it once more once all your seven letters are situated again in a row.
After that, try to make a multi-snap. A multi-snap is a snap in which you make multiple words at the same time. Keep in mind that the words have to overlap.

Every game there are always at least a couple of Word times 3 and letter times 2 tiles. Make a snap on one of these tiles and earn your next achievement.
Bonus

You played on a bonus tile

Now make another word that will also overlap the bonus tile. In the screenshot I’ve made the word Bis, and Os. Both words use the letter S. Therefore, both words are multiplied by 3.

Double Double

You used the same bonus tile twice in a one snap

Now try to make a multi-snap, in which you use all your 7 letters. When you have an uncommon letter like a Q, Z, X, etc. I’d advise you to wait a round. It’s easiest to make a 7 -tile multi-snap, when you first make a long word. E.g. use 5 of your own letters in a word. Then try to “add” the remaining letters to the side of the word you’ve created, thereby creating a 3-letter word, or two 2-letter words.

After each round, you can see the “highest scoring snaps”. These are the snaps that would have earned you or have earned you the most points, for just one snap. There’s both a list of single snaps and multi-snaps. Make either a highest scoring multi-snap, or single snap to earn another achievement. You’ll have the most chance of scoring one, when you use all 7 letters in one snap, snap one long word and when you make a snap on the “Word times 3 tile”.

In a game, look for a letter that is already placed on the board 2 or 3 times. If it’s placed 3 times it’s easiest. If it’s placed twice already, see if you got the letter once yourself. Then look for a letter to make a two-letter word with the other letter you’ve just chosen. Now make the same word 3 times, but on different locations of the board. An example is over here. I’ve chosen the letters T and E. I can make the word “ET” 3 times. Twice, by adding the E above the T’s. Once, by adding the T underneath the E.
Note: multisnaps don’t count.

Trifecta

Go back to the menu (the screen where you swipe the “L” downwards to start playing.) From here make a few horizontal swipes on your screen until you reach “Help and Options” Now change your puzzle language into French, Italian or Spanish. Now finish a single game in this language, and change your language into one of the two remaining languages. Then also finish a game in that language. The score you reach in those languages doesn’t matter, just make a single snap to be sure for the game to register that you’ve played in that specific language.
Multilingual

You played Tap-Snap in more than one language

Multilingual

Now try to make a 3 letter word, where you can swap the 2 letters that you placed around, and create another word. For example I’ve got and “R” and a “W”. You make the single snap “RAW”. Then move the R and place it on top of the W. Those letters will then swap around and the word “WAR” will be made.
Simul-Snap

You created multiple independent snaps by moving one tile

Simul-Snap

Play some games trying to score as many points as possible, until you play a game where you get a two-letter tile. For example: ED, CH, DI, etc. Simply make a snap with this tile, to earn an achievement.
CH a CH ING

You made a snap using a multi-letter tile

For the next achievement, you need to use all 7 letters that you’ve got in a single snap. Multi snap does not count for this, so you’ll need to make one long word. In more than half of the games, it is not even possible to make such a word. Therefore, I advise you to wait until a round shows up where a “Long word - 1 Hidden Bingo” message will show up. You can use a little cheat here. Grab yourself a second device with an internet connection. It is of course also possible to do it on the same device that you’re playing, by backing out of Snap Attack, and then opening your internet browser, but I found it easier with a second device.
Go to: http://wordfinder.yourdictionary.com/
Fill in the 7 letters that you have, and add one “?”. The site will give you a list of possible words, of which the top word is 8 letters long, and the word that you will need to make. You will have plenty of time (2 minutes and 30 seconds) to load up the website, enter the letters, and then make the snap in the game. The hardest part will not be to make the snap, but to find a game with a long word.
Bingo

Played all seven tiles in a Single-Snap

There’s about 50 “shapes” that you will have to make words in. You can check your progress towards this achievement, in the game(when you go to achievements, then to the Get In Shape achievement). You will need to make the exact shape as it is shown. When you make a snap, a green line is shown around the word(s) you’ve made. The shape this green line makes, is the shape that is registered. For a list of examples of all shapes, I advise you to go to:
http://www.wordament.com/get-in-shape-with-snap-attack/
The developers have given an example of all shapes.
The two I found challenging to do are the 4x2, 2x4, 3x3 shape, and the 3x3 with the middle square not being a part of the snap(the last one is definitely hard). You sometimes just need to wait for a good game to get the shape in. The method I used, was using the most uncommon letters you've got first, to make a snap. Then try to make a word with your remaining letters. If that doesn't work just keep swapping around, and making new words with the same letters, until you make the shape. A game where you get common letters like E, R, A, S, N, etc. definitely works, since a lot of words are made up of one of these letters. An extra tip for the snap where you need to make a 3x3 square shape, with the middle square not being a part of the word: I found it easier to use an ending letter of a word placed, instead of making the snap where the two placed words meet. Take for example the image provided by "You vs. the Internet", on the link I just mentioned (I've pasted it below). If the two words that are already placed, would have both been one square to the left, you could have used the L from morseL, to make a snap looking something like this(if you had these letters):
E R A
L -- I
F A R
An extra note, is that you can again use the following link to find 3 letter words, if you have difficulty finding them.
http://wordfinder.yourdictionary.com/
SNap attack

Note: You need to finish the game in order for the shape to get recognized.
Also, If you play the game on multiple platforms, and you’re down to the last shape; you can wait for a good game where you can get this last shape and then make this shape. The achievement will then pop in-game. Quickly load up another version of snap attack, also make the shape there and finish that game. It will only the register the shape on the last device(since that’s the game where you made the shape and finish the game). Nonetheless, since it was also the last shape you needed on the first device, the achievement will pop there, thus saving you the effort of having to make that particular shape again.
It might take a while to get the harder snaps, good luck!
Get in shape

You made a snap in each of the following shapes

Get in shape

Now the large grind will begin. You will need to score 2,500,000 points total, play 500 games and place in the top 250 of the Top players leaderboard. Don’t worry too much about the 100 and 500 games played. You will get them as you’re going for 2,5 million points. I advise you to do the last 100,000 points of the 2,500,000 points in one day. This should get you in the Top 250 players for that day. If not, then just score some more points until you do reach it.
Note: The next 5 achievements sync(or progress made towards it) between Windows Phone, Windows 8, Android and Ios. If you have the game for other versions as well, I advise you to earn the rest of the achievements that don’t sync in that/those versions, before you are going to grind out the remaining of the achievements, because this will save you some time.
As mentioned before, it is not worth letting the game run for a couple of hundred games to boost for the 500 games, unless you don’t want to go for the 2,5 million points. Each games is 2 minutes and 30 seconds. There is also 50 seconds in between games. Therefore, the High Five Hundred achievement should take you just under 28 hours.

High-5 Hundred

50,000 points should come by pretty quickly once you get better at the game. You also have earned quite some points by now, by doing some achievements.
Rehab

Achieved 50,000 cumulative points

2,5 million points will take a very long time. I’m scoring just under 3000 points on average, thus this achievement will take me about 850-900 games if I keep scoring the same amount of points on average. 850-900 games equals about 50 hours. You can calculate how long it will take you to get to 2,5 million points. Look at the leaderboards, see what you average score is, and divided 2,5 million (or the amount of points that you still need after doing some of the other achievements) by this number. Then multiply this number by 0,05556 and you have an estimate of how many hours it will take you. The actual amount will most likely be a bit lower, since you will get better at the game and therefore will score more points in a game. Besides, you’ve played at least a couple of games trying to get other achievements. Those games will bring down your average score a little. For tips on how to score a lot of points in a single game, go to the Hints and Tips page.
Addict

Achieved 2,500,000 cumulative points

Addict

Last achievement that’s left, is the World Champ. Some persons have unlocked this achievement when the requirements where much easier compared to what it is now. The rest of the the players wil need to score 2,5 million points, play 500 games(which you both should have gotten by now) and you need to score in the top 250 players of any category. Obviously, the most easiest category to reach the top 250 players, is the “Top 250 total score of the day”. Each day this category is reset, thus this will be much easier than “ Top total score of all time” or “Average score of all time”. The game will take into account all scores you’ve placed in the last 24 hours for the “Total score of the day” category. When you score about 100,000 points in a single day, you should be good for this achievement. To save you time, I advise you to do the +- last 100,000 points of the 2,5 million points on the last day, until you’ve reached enough points to reach the top 250 players. It might take some time for the achievement pops, since the leaderboards aren’t always up to date. They only get updated a couple of times per hour. Therefore come back a while later, to have the achievement unlock.
World Champ

Placed in the top 250 players in any of the “Top Player” leaderboards
