First post here...
So.... here goes...
Been an Xbox player since day one, and what feels like an age later, here we are. Currently playing Shadow of War, Cuphead and the Fractured But Whole but I have to admit that South Park is taking up all of my time right now. Guess I’m never going to grow up and get bored of that juvenile humour! They will never go wrong with an extra long interactive episode of the tv show!
I decided to get LOTR and South Park and leave Assassins Creed for two reasons - firstly I assumed LOTR and AC would be mechanically VERY similar (and LOTR was out firstly!) and secondly I assumed that AC would be full of bugs so leaving it a while gives them a chance to iron things out. According to colleagues and customers I was only right with the second assumption so hopefully in the new year I’ll be looking at a cracking new game.
Next. Cuphead. I put off buying it for a week or so, but some odd internet behaviour made me paranoid and so I spent the £15 I had in my account and boy am I glad I did! After finishing Super Meat Boy and Electronic Super Joy I needed more frustrating punishment and Cuphead delivers! He art style is amazing and it’s one of those things where when you fail (and you do, a lot!) you know it is your fault, you know you can do better, and you want to try again. Genius design, but only if you are the sort of person who is patient. No good for anyone likely to rage the controller against the wall!
Also the Evil Within 2 is seeing heavy reductions in the UK already so maybe I’ll pick that up providing I can keep it away from prying little eyes at home! The games with gold and game pass additions for November are a little underwhelming for me having finished a lot of them before, but hopefully I can still get by on the huge back catalogue of games I have already. And seeing as GTA V is reduced AGAIN this week it makes me wonder if that will be one of the freebies soon. It is an old game (old-ish) and I’m sure lots of people, like myself, played through on the 360 so didn’t re-purchase it so it would potentially be an extra source of income for those online dollars they keep selling. On the flip side, I’m sure GTA V still does well in sales and can I really see Microsoft giving away something like that for free when children could get hold of it easily? Although in 2017 I’m not sure there are many children that haven’t got hold of any of the GTA games. Just wishful thinking, maybe?
Anyway, thanks for reading, any comments are welcome and hopefully this will be a regular diary of my gaming life. Or maybe I’ll just get abuse for talking too much crap. Who knows?
