PermalinkThe 2017 CP Challenge #13 - Into Andromeda
CP stands for Cherry Poppin...you're welcome CompanyofWolves.

As I outlined last week, I spent the first part of it feeding the gamerscore to catch up a bit on my overall goal. This came in the form of ABZU and Level 22. Both of these games proved to be fun, with ABZU offering wonderful scenery and Level 22 offering fun stealth mechanics.

Then Thursday came around, along with Mass Effect: Andromeda. Whilst this was installing I started and finished the latest Rocket League update. The update can be done fully in exhibition, and didn't take long at all. Thankfully none of the achievements appear to be broken, like others in the past.

Onto the subject of Mass Effect: Andromeda, it is going well and I am enjoying my time on it. I won't go into any story specifics naturally, to avoid spoilers. I was able to design my male Ryder to look pretty much how I wanted him too, as well as his twin sister. A lot of people complain about the character creator but it offered enough things to change to still be a decent creator set up. I am playing through on normal like I usually do with new games and due to it being a RPG, taking my time with it to follow through all the side quests that I can.

This week, I shall continue with Andromeda. My plan for April is also behind schedule, with motivation currently lacking for Chronicles. I shall make a push on these two titles through the month, if it doesn't look like I will complete India and Russia in the final week of April, then I shall use either The Fall or Virginia.

1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India Achievements - 13/18

PermalinkThe 2017 CP Challenge #12 - Pop Goes Another Month
CP stands for Cherry Poppin...you're welcome CompanyofWolves.

The past week has felt a lot slower than normal, which I think is partially due to knowing Mass Effect: Andromeda is out soon and being unable to wait, but mostly due to The Book of Unwritten Tales 2.

It has been awhile since I have played a game which felt like it took three times longer than it actually did. This was the case with Unwritten Tales 2 sadly, which felt like it had potential but after a handful of early scenes, lost all of what it could've been. As a friend recently said, the game serves to remind us how much of a loss it was when Terry Pratchett passed away. I managed to make it to Chapter 3 before I started to just skip through the dialogue. Again this is something I try to avoid doing due to wanting to see the story, but with this game, so much of it was failed attempts at humour with the story taking a backseat. The one good thing I can say about it is the references to other sources are good, some examples include Doctor Who, Big Bang Theory and Skyrim. I wouldn't recommend this title, unless you are struggling to sleep, as two nights in a row this game did bore me that much that I fell asleep.

I didn't put any more progress this week into Assassins Creed Chronicles India, mainly as I was focused on getting Tales 2 finished. I shall put more time into Chronicles this week and aim to finish it before the month is out, leaving Russia for April. I am also going to try and increase the amount of gamerscore earnt by going through some of the titles I picked up on sales, starting with ABZU. I am unsure how many games I will get through before Mass Effect arrives.

As I mentioned last week, the challenge will see little progress once Andromeda is here, but once the game is finished (most likely a few weeks) I will start tackling multiple titles on the list again. Currently my aim is to work on the Chronicles series, but I shall also push on with Stardew Valleys artifact hunting as well as Color Symphony 2. I might also begin Metro 2033 to begin work on that series, as well as Skyrim. I am purposefully leaving Virginia and The Fall for months where it looks like I won't complete something.

Finally, CompanyofWolves suggested I add Assassins Creed: Rogue as my final bonus game. After giving it some thought I have decided to follow this suggestion. It is a shame South Park got delayed as much as it did.

1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India Achievements - 13/18
1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia Achievements - 0/17
2. Color Symphony 2 Achievements - 3/16
3. Earthlock: Festival of Magic Achievements - 0/25

CP stands for Cherry Poppin...you're welcome CompanyofWolves.

It isn't long now until Mass Effect: Andromeda releases, meaning that this list will soon be taking a backseat. I shall still try and put a bit of time into the challenge each week so there is continued progress, but it will be to a lesser extent for awhile.

First up in the past week was Assassins Creed Chronicles: India. I finished the initial play-through and needed to replay one level to get the game complete with no kills on any level. I am now working my way through Plus Hard mode without being spotted. This is proving to be more of a challenge, but I feel confident that I can manage it. I have also started The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 as I outlined last week. I have only done the tutorial so far, so there isn't too much to report on this one.

I started the free game, Clicker Heroes, which will be a long completion. It is also for the most part a game that can be idled. I also begun LEGO Worlds as that arrived. So far it is going well, it is a lot different compared to the standard LEGO games that are on the marketplace. With that said, it is a decent cheaper game.

Something else happened over the weekend, my community interview was published. A big thanks to Kintaris for the interview and CompanyofWolves for the nomination. Here is the link for it.

The plan this week will be to finish The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, hopefully finish off Assassins Creed Chronicles: India and add some more gamerscore to catch up on my gamerscore goal.

1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia Achievements - 0/17
2. Color Symphony 2 Achievements - 3/16

8. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Achievements - 2/50 Increase of 2 achievements

PermalinkThe 2017 CP Challenge #10 - The March Gameplan
CP stands for Cherry Poppin...you're welcome CompanyofWolves.

The past week saw a small bit of progress on both the main list and the 100 achievements list. It also saw a couple of completions of the horror variety.

Starting with the progress on the lists, I finally made a proper start on Assassins Creed Chronicles: India. My plan is to get India finished this month and leave Russia for April. Due to how I have set the challenge up, I can't cross either title off until both are finished, however this will mean I won't be doing both titles back to back. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 will be the game I focus on after India, so that March is covered. This plan is largely set up so that I don't have anything too story heavy in the lead up to Mass Effect Andromeda.

I completed Among the Sleep and the Inheritance DLC for Layers of Fear, some of the achievements were on my to do list. Both games are excellent, with Layers of Fear being a good offer in Games with Gold. With the completion of the DLC, my to do list now has 87 achievements left to go. This part of the challenge is falling behind, much like my gamerscore goal, so I shall need to pick up the pace.

I started the Gems of War update, which now requires a lot of gold to be saved up. Hopefully other members of the guild will be able to save up as well, but worst case scenario, this game will take a couple of months to save up the required gold. Fallout Shelter is also seeing steady progress, with 85 objectives and quests completed. I haven't added anymore legendary dwellers to the list, however the quest chain I am working on sounds like it will provide number 12.

My plan this week will be to work on India, as well as earn more gamerscore to try and catch up on my goals. I will also be getting LEGO Worlds towards the end of the week, at £18 it is a decent price.

1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India Achievements - 3/18 Increase of 1 achievement
1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia Achievements - 0/17
2. Color Symphony 2 Achievements - 3/16
3. Earthlock: Festival of Magic Achievements - 0/25
4. King's Quest Achievements - 0/53
5. Metro 2033 Redux Achievements - 0/49
5. Metro: Last Light Redux Achievements - 0/49
6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition Achievements - 0/75
7. Stardew Valley Achievements - 31/40
8. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Achievements - 0/50
9. The Fall Achievements - 0/17
10. Virginia Achievements - 0/17

The Bonus Four
1. Dishonored 2 Achievements - 0/50
2. TBD

The Extra Innings
1. Dead Rising 4 Achievements - 34/52
2. Fallout 4 Achievements - 63/84

PermalinkThe 2017 CP Challenge #09 - Progress is Progress
CP stands for Cherry Poppin...you're welcome CompanyofWolves.

Following on from last weeks completion of Hitman, another title was completed. This time it is from The Bonus Four. Final Fantasy XV was a fantastic game to play and I enjoyed every second of it, enough to consider getting the DLC regardless of the price when it releases. This also means that only two titles remain in this list, one of which was going to be South Park, but gven the continued delays and potential to not see it until next year, is now out of the running. Mass Effect Andromeda is a possibility, although I haven't yet finished one of them on the hardest setting.

I also made a bit more progress in the 100 achievement challenge thanks to the Layer of Fear DLC. I now just have two play-throughs to go through, where I need to be more careful so as not to mess either of them up again. This challenge is still feeling behind schedule, so I might use the next two days to put more of a dent in it, before beginning to focus once more on a title from the main list at the start of March. I also did a small edit on the list itself, removing a Gears of War 4 achievement for having a class reach level 10. This decision was influenced by the "double class exp" weekend they ran, which honestly seemed to give even less class exp than when the event wasn't running. Replacing this achievement is another one from Rebel Galaxy, this time to become neutral with the pirate factions.

Fallout Shelter is still seeing a lot of action currently, with only one quest chain left open, it looks like the 100 quests will end up needing about 25-30 daily and weekly quests. Legendary Dwellers is sat upon 11, and there are only two themes left to be fully collected. The vault is visited often by the harbingers of doom, Bottle and Cappy, who never fail to bring one disaster or another, be it mole rat invasions, fires or deathclaw attacks.

I haven't decided what game to focus on for March. Ideally, I want to work on the Chronicles, yet I seem to lack the motivation for them. With Mass Effect Andromeda in March, I don't want to work on something too time heavy. In the meantime, I might throw in some work on Dead Rising 4 and push Stardew Valley a couple of achievements closer to completion.

1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India Achievements - 2/18
1. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia Achievements - 0/17
2. Color Symphony 2 Achievements - 3/16
3. Earthlock: Festival of Magic Achievements - 0/25
4. King's Quest Achievements - 0/53
5. Metro 2033 Redux Achievements - 0/49
5. Metro: Last Light Redux Achievements - 0/49
6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition Achievements - 0/75
7. Stardew Valley Achievements - 31/40
8. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Achievements - 0/50
9. The Fall Achievements - 0/17
10. Virginia Achievements - 0/17

The Bonus Four
1. Dishonored 2 Achievements - 0/50
2. TBD

The Extra Innings
1. Dead Rising 4 Achievements - 34/52
2. Fallout 4 Achievements - 63/84
