Minecraft One isn't in the Store anymore. I'm assuming that the WP will be delisted too. So even if it's not maintained, it won't be available anymore.

The existing versions based on the Pocket Edition code are NOT going away. Only the Xbox One version is being moved to the PE codebase, but all other versions are "safe".

This was confirmed in one of the threads by Jorax who's part of the dev team, I believe.

You will still be able to download and play the original console version if you already own it, but it's not superceded by the new version on X1.

Basically think of the "Better Together" as just a renaming of the Pocket Edition versions, and the X1 is not running on the same codebase.
