A welcome respite from Trackmania. 180 is killing me.
Grats! How long is the completion including the DLC?

Some of it is very, very heavily skill dependent. The game is free to play (which is how I've gone about it) but you can spend money to essentially accelerate your
collection. I have a strong background in Magic: the Gathering and Hearthstone so things were much easier for me than they would be for someone learning this sort of game
for the first time. Absolute minimum is likely hundreds of hours.
Damn that’s a really nice completion
Respectfully, 100% in 54 mins, you used the speed run guide like many TA members. You can't really rate the game based on that. I didn't. A GS means to an end.
10 leaps for the community challenge. Now back to Trackmania.
Everything got fucked up with this game so now I can't even make 10 jumps for the challenge badge with it. Waste of time.
I needed another game to get 10 leaps after screwing up Creature in the Well :/
I was being careful to not unlock this so early. Annoying, now I have to do things differently.
How is this Sully, and are you going for the completed community badge for the TadPole event?
Its a little nice game. Its mot action adventure at all. More like dungeon crawler shoot em ups .U gotta activate diffrent dungeons . The gameplay may seem weird.
Haha alright thanks maheen! I might give it a try here soon sometime
https://youtu.be/F_HoMkkRHv8 kind of appropriate for trackmania. Heard it and thought of you. Lol.
differently?" And when you do something different, you get a different, likely consistent result. In Trackmania, you can do the same exact thing 10 times and get 10
different results. It's extremely rare that I fuck up, ask myself what I could have done differently. and come up with anything other that "I have no fucking idea."

More often than not, the answer is "try again, do the same exact thing, get a different result, and maybe it'll be the result you were hoping for."
I've been working on track 177 for about 15 hours now. Maybe 20. I can land the first jump about 1/10 times, even after all this time spent on it. And I do the same thing
with this jump every single time. The same goes with the horrible arcing launch jumps- I can land each one occasionally- never consistently.
*track 178, but whatever. I just had a god run where I was 6 seconds ahead of gold going into the final arc jump, hit it like I always do, and botched it so bad that the
run was ruined. I left the plane of the jump and couldn't explain how this is even possible based on my speed and angle.
It's super frustrating that a game that demands such extreme precision doesn't allow for consistent controlling or physics.
I saw your YouTube video you can’t turn your car accurately at all was frustrating just watching.
Tell me about. The lightest directional input is like rolling a 10 sided die that determines how hard of a response the car gives. I cannot get consistent response.
Here is the run where I thought I had it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFCeeJyGiR8
It feels like I'm locked into some sort of masochist mode that makes the controls impossibly inconsistent.
It's much more consistent on pavement but with this car on dirt or grass, fucking forget it.
God bless you. You seem to be in so much pain... i hope you get through it soon. Trust me i know how u feel. Sorry
Sully I'm just going to avoid interacting with you about this game from now on :) Good luck man!
Game is awful, played up to the 2nd set of tracks and realized it was just horribly designed
That video was soul crushing. It seems like bad design to not be able to slightly swing your car in a game where air time is that high.
This game is like trying to circumcise a mosquito.
That video made me depressed, that last jump fucks every run up
You can't be good at every game, there is some luck involved, but your skill is most important.
I've had six or seven runs now where I'm way ahead of gold at the last jump. One hit the cliff, one fell short. Another hit the top of the ramps again.
One landed in the ramp upside down. One landed backwards and lost too much time. One time I nailed it and fucked up the last boost/turn for the first time ever, of course
My best run is .32 seconds away from gold. I'll get through this eventually. End of the Road will be the next achievement I unlock no matter how long it takes.
At least you have determination to do so
That’s one thing we all can agree too
Jesus, dude! Still that same track? Congrats on finally getting it.
You screamed when you got it didn’t you 😂 nice job man finnaly to the next one
Such an infuriating game. I had to give up on it because I was raging too much. If you brake in the air, does that correct your pitch so you can land more smoothly?
Brake in the air prevents you from spinning yeah

Not for me, it doesn't. https://i.imgur.com/AoMSN76.mp4
On this jump, then only thing that affects your landing 'flatness' is the angle you leave the surface with (and perhaps your speed, but you gotta go fast).
The first jump is almost the worst part of this track , I hate it
And on 175 there is a jump were u need to break to not spin so thought maybe it would be the same but this needs to be full speed yeah
The funny part is that the blimp actually reads "enjoy air control" xD
You must use brake faster for this to work.
Letting go of gas also slows you down in air dont ask me how lol
That is the one checkpoint in the game that I agree is just a pile of horseshit coin flip. There is a position that you can go off that's more consistent, but it's still
not 100%. Worst checkpoint in the game by far. Far worse than 190 (? Might have the number wrong, but the beach one with the tough angle for the first jump)
Jesus sexy af😍
The controls and physics are so horrible and inconsistent. There is simply no way to know with 100% certainty how any single input will affect your vehicle.
It may have a consistent result 90% of the time, but that one run where you finally get 9 of 10 coin flips correct, the same input will have a dramatically different

outcome and the run is ruined. Back to flipping coins. And I'm determined to keep flipping. I'll get this done through attrition eventually. Mark my words.
I only worked through gold jokers last year to get the rest of the achievements done with as little effort as possible. I started with 8 actual golds and now I'm at 23.
Valley is killing me. I've been on 175 for a long time. https://i.imgur.com/FaLirHj.png
Would love some harder achievements on this, 200 trackmasters and double driver campaign stuff. Gold times you can mostly safe it as the times are slow.
Lengthier chains of copinflips? Awesome. Why stop there? How about something like gold all 200 maps in a row without restarting? That's similarly unreasonable.
Or even gold all 10 tracks in a set back to back. Do you think you could ever gold the 10 Black Valley tracks in a row? It's clearly not about being good or developing
skill or mastery, but instead about repetition and overcoming bad controls and physics.
Problem is when you do it flawless youre carrying much more speed than what youre used to from resetting at checkpoints which makes even the smallest bump a problem
Lol check out Riolu’s full game speedrun, super consistent. Maybe it’s just not a game your skillset lends well to.
He plays on PC with control customization and has thousands of hours in the game. You can find the top.001% of any game exhibit skill above everyone else.
Alright cool cool you lost me, enjoy :)
Kosmic has a 4:55:646 in SMB1. Is that a reasonable target for everyone since he has done it?
Maybe rage about it some more?
You say it’s pure luck then say people have too much skill. What are you talking about.
200 trackmasters is absolutely nowhere near Riolu’s level and I definitely think it’s a reasonable target that would be a fun challenge.
Why do achievements need to be reasonable targets anyway? I love seeing the super high end stuff that only a few people can get.
I'm all for high skill requirement achievements that reward the most dedicated players. I think more games should have them. But in the case of this game, I just don't
feel that the difficulty comes from good design. I don't see it as learning the tracks to perfection but instead overcoming luck due to bad controls and physics.
he overall point I'm trying to make is that I don't like what I consider to be the huge luck factor that must be overcome. Maybe that's just my incorrect assessment of
the game. I know that I'll eventually get the golds and that I could probably eventually get the TMs, but the sheer amount of time I'd have to spend to overcome the luck
requirement would be staggering. I do think that requirements need to be somewhat reasonable, though. Like Brick Breaker- that's asking a little much, don't you agree?
Nah yeah I get what you mean with Trackmania, not to that extent but yeah. Just take it a little personally because I like the game haha.
I need more hours on Brick Breaker :( I'm not done with it.
You kinda knew what you were getting yourself into Sully. I’ve seen some streams and the physics are pretty fucked.
Just keep your eye on the prize, you’ll get it done soon enough.
It’s all about having that 1 good run , eventually we will get it sully and we are super happy then :)
What I find most astonishing is that you basically just have to watch 30 seconds of gameplay to arrive at the conclusion that the physics have a certain 'random' factor
to put it that way. I remember the snow mobile in FF XV and how the bad controls enraged me but those very one like 3 time trials and here we have hundreds of tracks in
the same manner. I wonder why anyone at all would make the decision to start this game unless they would either really enjoy it or really liked to torture themselves.
*very one = where only --- Anyway, good luck with the rest of the tracks. Or with keeping your sanity. Whatever you prefer.
It isnt random, just has a window of precision even smaller than the trials series which a lot of of people myself included say is all luck for certaim obstacles
Yet we see the top guys breeze through all of these tracks like its nothing, cant be luck if they are that consistent
Do they really breeze through it like it's nothing? If you watch my successful runs, it doesn't look that difficult. But you don't see the 18678 failed runs leading up.
Also, I've been told that the pc version, which the top guys play, has customizable sensitivity with the controls, which xbox doesn't have.
Sully do you steer with the stick or with < > pads ?
Dpad, 3rd person view.
DPad wow that sounds hard
Some find it better / more precise
Suddenly this thread makes a lot more sense XD
I'm so confused as to why anyone would ever play with dpad. That sounds like a complete nightmare. And I'm with Jim here. The game is hard as shit.
Many levels took me multiple hours. But even I could do it with high consistency eventually. It's not random coin flips.
I'll give you the first checkpoint of 178 as a horseshit coin flip, but that's it.
What I mean by the coinflip argument is that a track may have a dozen tricky turns or maneuvers. And in practicing the track, I can hit each one sometimes. So I need the
magical run where I hit them all. Many times I know I screwed up in speed or angle or whatever but there are so many times where I can't figure out why the car responded
the way it did so it feels like rolling dice or flipping coins, hoping for a positive outcome.
Agreed . I was tempted to play it because of its ratio 2 years ago. Tried the first stage on a dummy. Deleted the game. Trials control is nad too but nothing compare to
This pile of shit
Due to all respect Jim and anyone who believe that this game is good. This is just my personal opinion. And im not great at this genre either. Sorry for being so harsh
I wouldn’t say the game is trash , I love the game but I hate it at the same time Sometimes bc some tracks I seem to cannot do consist
I did all Black tracks gold medals with dpad so I wouldn't say that it's harder.
Welp, I spent 12+ hours today grinding 175 and I've come up empty. Maybe tomorrow.
Is there still a massive influx of new users? My ratio goes up daily..
It’s supposed to all be settled with the recalcs that are completing today.
Ratio was already a joke before this now im sat at a 3.0 and havent done anything worthwhile in months lol
