PermalinkFreamwhole's Completion Challenge 2017
With the UHH 3 in my past, it's time to move on and finish something I started at the beginning of the year. I've worked on this on and off, often finding games that fit in categories randomly by completing easy, or random games. I've knocked out most of it so far, but I still have 5 of the 30 categories that need a completion. I figure, I can definitely finish this before the 2018 challenge starts, as long as I stay focused. After I finish with this, I'm going to pick back up on the Random Game Selector Challenge that I had been doing personally. I only managed to knock one game down from that, but the second game is just so boring, and I got bored of gaming in general around that time. The UHH 3 is what got me back into the swing of things.

Anyway, these are the categories I still need.

2) Roman Numeral - Complete a game with a Roman Numeral in the title

4) Evened Up - Complete a game that contains achievements that do not end in a "5" or "0"

11) Super Completion - Complete a game that contains at least one Super Hero (comic)

16) How About That Sports Ball? - Complete a game that is in the SPORTS genre

PermalinkUHH 3 - Period 10(KO) Summary! Vs Christoph 5782
I didn't imagine I'd be making it to the top 8, when I signed up. In the last two UHH's I was eliminated in Period 5. To be fair, in the first UHH, that's not an awful showing considering there was no group stages.

I knew at this point that no matter who I got, there was a good chance for elimination. If I got Mattias, I knew that a lot could be pre-loaded, and even if it looked like I'd take the win, he likes to sneak up on weekends I've noticed. In order to win that match, I'd have to get all 20 before Saturday. If I got Jam, I was out no question. If it had been Silver, there was a good chance either way, I did prepare a bit for them, but I guess my preparations were in the wrong place. If it was ChinDocta, I would have had an interesting match, but he did exactly what I was gonna do if I won this round and Magic was still in it, and that was to start 20 games Magic had and pre-load them for the last achievement. If it was Robbiecam, I'm not sure how that match would go, very even. I couldn't possibly get Magic without starting new games or us 2 being the last 2 remaining.

But that was all a lot of "ifs". I knew there was a good chance of playing Christoph as well, and we'd have a very hard fight. Which is exactly how it went down.

PermalinkUHH 3 - Period 9(KO) Summary! Vs QuickMythril
This period was the battle of the top 16! I never anticipated making it this far into the competition, honestly, I thought for sure I'd be gone in Period 6. I'm really getting the most out the UHH this year after being eliminated in Period 5 in the past 2. At this point, it is starting to become draining as I focus all of my effort into these achievements, and even try to get out of real life situations if I can, just to squeeze as much time as I can into the hunt. I will say, that as draining of an experience as it is, it is nice to get my 20 out of the way earlier so I can rest the rest of the period and try to muster back that dedication for the next period. That being said, this week was very different from expected.

PermalinkUHH 3 - Period 8(KO) Summary! Vs Drelzar
Period 8 features the top 32 contestants remaining in the contest, which I am very happy and proud to be a part of. I never thought going into this contest that I'd somehow make it further than the past 2 with more irl responsibilities than before. In the past 2, I didn't have a job, so it shouldn't have been difficult to keep up and try to win matches. I'll say that UHH 1 was moreso the luck of the draw that eliminated me, with 3 achievements being glitched. However UHH 2, was my own fault due to my sleep schedule. I guess that's a nice factor about having the job though, it keeps me on a decent schedule for this contest. On Mondays that I'm off, I'm able to get up an hour before the period starts to wake up, and get ready, then start as soon as the period does. On top of that, I have real friends, who like to hang out now, and while I really like this contest, and would love to keep progressing, I won't push my friends away to do it.

PermalinkUHH 3 - Period 7(KO) Summary! Vs GillesdeRais
At this point in the competition, everyone you face will give you a challenge, because at this point, it is pretty much only the elite players still going. Now I know that a few of the people who would be considered top tier were eliminated by pre-loading or alts, which is unfortunate. I really don't like alts in competitions, and I really don't get the point. It's not like any of that glory will be for your tag anyway, plus if you reveal who you are, everyone will hate you for doing that tactic anyway. Luckily I have managed to avoid alts, mostly due to my collection which doesn't have many easy indies that aren't completed.

To add to that, it is almost impossible for someone to have slid through with easy rounds to this point, so you really know that you are in for some fierce competition. Last period was an extremely close game, with a win for me at 20-17 at the end of the period. I was the second player to hit 20, only behind an alt. I will admit, that our list wasn't too awfully long, and some of the achievements were more skill based than time consuming.

This week that seems to be the opposite, everything on the list takes forever. There were only 3 achievements that took less than an hour, would have been 5, but I was having issues with 2, which I'll get into the daily summaries.
