Games Completed:

Sam & Max Save the World: 236 TA Score

Games Played:

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare: 30 of 50 - 774 of 2,357
Sky Force Reloaded: 5 of 29 - 216 of 2,647
Forza Motorsport 5: 7 of 78 - 46 of 3,582
Sudoku (WP): 5 of 8 - 29 of 70
Jetpack Joyride: 17 of 20 - 155 of 222
Thimbleweed Park: 2 of 33 - 30 of 1,668
Albert and Otto: 3 of 12 - 103 of 1,244
Touchdown Hero: New Season (WP): 2 of 20 - 21 of 266
Orbital (WP): 2 of 15 - 15 of 232
How to Survive - Storm Warning Edition: 2 of 37 - 31 of 5,979
Dirt 4: 1 of 48 - 5 of 2,331

I'm back from my extended travels! smile. After a week in Johannesburg and a week in Croatia (with 18 hours actually at home) I'm back and have no travel plans for at least 3 weeks! So I spent 2 weeks basically getting 1 or 2 achievements to keep the streak going. I could probably finish off at least 3 of the Windows phone games if I wanted to but given my travel situation at the moment, I'm more concerned with keeping the streak alive.

With that in mind, I played a lot of Jetpack Joyride, Sudoku, Touchdown Hero and Orbital. All of these (like all WP games) are a bit dated although Jetpack Joyride is still good fun, and Orbital is at least not a chore to play. The other two games are pretty meh!

I also did a lot of starting games (Dirt 4, How to Survive, Albert and Otto) but will focus more on these over the next few weeks. Particularly on Dirt 4 its so different in handling from Forza and I spent most of the brief time I played it with the Rally Car upside down headspin- more practice is definitely needed there!

I did finish off Sam and Max save the world which was OK. I followed the guide on this site here: Sam & Max Save the World Walkthrough

Most of the time I've been back has been spent playing COD Infinite Warfare which I have actually enjoyed a lot more than I was suspecting I would. Mainly the variety of the flying and space missions make this actually the best non Modern Warfare COD that I've played and whilst I'm only 2 missions from the end there are some other achievements that I will go back to and get once I'm done with the campaign.

I also got very lucky getting this achievement on Sky Force Reloaded when the game through a second ship out at the start of the level which the EMP hit (allowing me a smooth run to the end!)

The E3 sale has also topped up my games list quite heavily - AC Rogue, AC Origins, Forza Horizon 2 (and wow didn't Forza Horizon 4 look good on the E3 reveal) and I'm still debating Far Cry 5 (inc Far Cry 3), have all found there way onto my hard drive. AC Rogue I am thinking of making my next long term game as I keep chipping away on some of the other smaller games.

Games Completed:

InkSplosion - 1,129 TA Score
Sam & Max Beyond time and space - 248 TA Score

Games Played:

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: 37 of 90 - 957 of 4,805
Fear Effect Sedna: 1 of 24 - 20 of 2,535
Super Mega Baseball 2: 3 of 42 - 27 of 5,787
Halo: Spartan Assault: 4 of 30 - 62 of 3,176
Pac-Man 256: 4 of 10 - 456 of 1,387
SEGA Vintage Collection: Golden Axe: 8 of 12 - 457 of 1,387
Shadow Complex Remastered: 3 of 39, 53 of 3,333

Started and Finished InkSplosion on the same day. At first I was getting realy frustrated with it as it takes a while to get into the ryhtym of the game but once I got going, this was a very easy completion apart from a glitch that forced a reboot when going into Arena mode. Not a good game, the weapons are unbalanced but overall an easy completion - for £3 you get what you pay for.

Sam & Max games are going from Game Pass this month so I've completed one of them, and now have to complete the next one in the next 3 days before I go travelling again and am back to Windows phone games to keep the streak going. Thankfully there is a very good walkthrough and you can skip the dialogue otherwise I'd have probably got very frustrated. Its an early telltale game and you can see the gulf in class between this and teh first Walking Dead. Still has some midly amusing moments.

Other than that, I finished the campaign in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and that is now done and gone from my hard disk. There were some single player achievements that I could have ground out but I really cannot be bothered. cry Same is true of SEGA Vintage Collection Golden Axe - I'm not going back for the last 4 achievements and that is now deleted. As was SEGA Vintage Collection Alex Kid which I also deleted (I only wanted to play Super Hang-On for old times sake) - Both SEGA games are also going from Game Pass this month.

Because I'm effectively out of the country for two weeks with work and vacation I'm finding it hard to get started on something new, hence the collection of 2 or 3 achievements in a few games. Once I'm back from vacation I'm not travelling again for a few months so I'll start or complete something that takes time.

I'm also struggling again with completing my backlog again - once I completed my goal I've found it difficult to focus on old games. Need to get a mind reset once I'm back from leave and focus on all the games that I've got one or two achievements and get them completed.

Game Completed:

Costume Quest 2 - 1,308 TA Score

Games Played:

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: 25 of 90 - 547 of 4,805
Forza Horizon 3: 119 of 131 - 4,693 of 5,490
101 Ways to Die: 15 of 30 - 428 of 2,370
Korgan: 7 of 11 - 686 of 1,224
Serial Cleaner: 8 of 28 - 299 of 1,722

Submerged: 5 of 10 - 551 of 1,154
Super Mega Baseball 2: 1 of 42 - 5 of 6,488

Started and Finished the very enjoyable Costume Quest 2 (which I'd already 100% on Xbox 360). Its a very cute little RPG, takes about 10-12 hours maximum to complete and there was only a copule of points where it was a challenge (mainly to do with getting the HardCorn achievement). Well worth playing since its still on Game Pass.

Costume Quest 2Hardcorn ModeThe Hardcorn Mode achievement in Costume Quest 2 worth 159 pointsFinish the game having fought every battle with Candy Corn in your party

Started Korgan since its free and an easy 1000. But it has one of the most un-intuitive button setups (and you can't change it) to change character and pickup treasure is the same button headspin(!). I'll probably finish that soon.

Whilst playing Cod Advanced Warfare I passed 380K True Achievements score ...

Apart from just keeping some games moving to completion (Gears of War I'm pretty much done with) like Submerged and Serial Cleaner - I'm now focussing on the single player CoD Advanced Warfare (done it once before - has some good set pieces but it also includes Kevin "Well dodgy" Spacey). And I started 101 Ways to die which I had in my backlog for almost a year. This was a pleasant surprise, working out how to kill the little chaps, setting up the traps - a little reminiscent of the old Lemmings games

Other than that I've been travelling a lot (hence the two week update rather than 1) and so I've been playing on jetpack joyride on my windows phone to keep the streak going.

Next couple of weeks I'd like to finish Gears of War 4 with mop-up a couple of single player achievements and then I'll probably play on with Call of Duty till I'm through all the missions. Then 101 Ways to Die till its completed.

PermalinkCompletion #123 and Gears 4
1 Game Completed:

The Assembly - 1,218 TA Score

Games Played:

Sky Force Reloaded: 4 of 29 - 141 of 2,781
Serial Cleaner: 6 of 28 - 217 of 1,732
Overcooked: 2 of 11 - 55 of 1,911
Gears of War 4: 38 of 134 - 576 of 14,511
Flying Tigers: Shadows over China: 24 of 28 - 1,591 of 2,078

Finished the Assembly which has been sat waiting patiently in my backlog for almost exactly a year. Quite enjoyed it, playing as two characters in the story was a nice experience as you were working towards two different goals.

Also went on a Gears of War fest and completed the single player campaign on Normal. Obv as a showcase for the Xbox 1X it looks great and sounds great. Difficulty ramped up well, with new and larger set pieces being added as you got closer to the end. The standout set piece for me was escaping the first hive via the ascending cables - I thought that worked really well, shame it didn't feature again somewhere. Pretty sure the ending was important based on the previous series lore but its been so long I really don't know. Hopefully if Gears 5 is being worked on (and I can't imagine it isn't) we get to continue the plot... I think I'm mostly done with this game now and apart from a couple of singe player achievements, I will probably be deleting it in the next week.

I also picked up a couple of games on sale - serial cleaner (great soundtrack - looks like fun) and Overcooked (the day before it was announced for Game Pass angry) both of which I expect I'll come back to on-and-off for a while. Managed to get a couple more levels of Sky Force reloaded completed. Now need to grind a lot and get the ship totally powered up before trying the later levels..

Now Gears is pretty much done for me, I'm going to play a few quicker ID titles that I've had sitting around for a while and then get back into something more meaty. Maybe I'll go back to Dragon Age Inquisition ...

1 Game Completed

North - 1020 TA Score

Games Played

Minesweeper: 3 of 10 - 16 of 76
Jetpack Joyride: 5 of 20 - 40 of 53
Flying Tigers: Shadows Over China: 22 of 28 - 1,483 of 2,089

Killer Instinct: 7 of 464 - 69 of 26,165 shock
Gears of War 4: 23 of 134 - 334 of 14,755 shock
The Assembly: 2 of 29 - 26 of 1,218

Well, travelled for a few days in Dubai and kept the streak ticking over with some WP achievements in Minesweeper and Jetpack Joyride. Get back on Thursday after pulling an all nighter due to stupid early flight. Popped a couple of achievements in a few games - basically I was so close to achieving my completion percentage goal I decided to harvest some simple achievements.

Ongoing my main game is Gears of War 4 which looks pretty splendid in 4K. I'm merrily stomping (because thats what they do) through the main campaign. Quite like the new characters (probably more than the previous set in Gears 1 to 3). Cover shooting is cover shooting so its not changed anything there but the new characters are interesting and have set the stage for hopefully another good trilogy (assuming the ending doesn't kill them all! - no spoilers as I haven't got there yet).

I also tried Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice with my B&O headphones plugged in and WOW this game is aurally as impressive as it is visually. Once GOW4 is out of the way, I'll be taking my time getting through this one.

Completed North following Maka's guide: Pretty poor experience, bottom of the list of finished 'games' and will remain there for the forceable future.

Big news: Completed one of my 4 goals that I set myself for the year. Increase my completion percentage to 36.0% - Quite low for this site, but for me it was an encouragement to play and complete some of the games I'd just started, got a couple of achievements and moved on to whatever was next. Each percentage point is 320 achievements in either games I've not started or I've just played briefly. So, I now have to reset the goal. I'm thinking of going to 38% (I'd like to go to 40% but I think that's unlikely)

The achievement that tipped over the 36% was :
