The next evolution for me as a gamer...Streaming
Hello fellow TA friends!
As of today, April 24, I turn 35 years old and I've come to a harsh realization, I need to do something more for myself as gamer, evolve if you will.
A few years ago I started to feel a void in my gaming and knew that I needed to do more, try some new outlets. I figured that I might try my hand at youtube eventually, but I thought that I'd start with a podcast. A few of you may remember that last year I started the podcast (The Aging Fanboys Podcast). I'm happy to say that it's still going and at the time of this blog entry, I've recorded 55 episodes, but I always wanted to expand my gaming more.

(sorry sound quality sucks on this episode for some reason)
Then came the explosion of popularity for video game streaming. I thought that I would love to get into streaming, but I had a HUGE problem, I had no PC and my MacBook could not handle a stream on Twitch. I made a deal with my wife, If I sold some of my collectibles, I could use the money to fund a purchase of a gaming PC. I'm happy to say that I was able to raise enough money for an awesome gaming PC and now I'm ripe and ready to start my career as a Twitch streamer.
Just last week I started out streaming and I'm having a blast doing it, only problem is trying to get people to come by the channel and stick around for the stream. From what I've discovered so far, it's more than "if you stream, they will come", you need to network and make friends with other streamers to help you out. I'm starting to do that now and I'm making a lot of friends in the small streamer community.
I'm hoping that someday soon, I'll have a successful Twitch channel that I can interact with gamers by playing many different games as well as going for those achievements that we all love. If you guys would like to check out my channel and give me a follow, I would greatly appreciate it. My channel is:
Also, if you have a channel of your own that you would like me to check out and follow, please let me know.
For those TA friends of mine that I haven't spoken to in a while, it's nothing personal, just been really busy. If you ever want to talk and you see me online, please send me a chat invite and we can catch up. It's been a rough year for me, but I'm finally getting my life back together piece by piece.
Until next Blog entry,
