I told myself I wasn't going to dive this year... but... maybe...
And holy hell if amusement parks and BBQ places don't show just how obese Americans are on avg. Yeesh.
I've never had Snows, but waited at 5am in Austin for Franklin bbq and it was the same experience.

Imagine Raistlin taking on Takhisis in the abyss, pulling her out of the abyss to weaken and defeat her all while destroying Krynn...
Paladine (Fizban), Tasslehoff, Carmamon, Tanisha with his bi racial turmoil, KITIARRA and SOTH!

I mean gat damn it could be a series of films EASILY, offshoots for Brothers Majere and the side books like Heroes sextet.
WotC has WASTED the opportunity to create a whole universe of films there with modern CGI tech being what it is!!!
Tanis**
And Bupu....
I don't understand why Dragonlance isn't taken as seriously ad LotR. Sure it was *comissioned* to support the tabletop game.
And maybe the writing is at a lower level structure wise, but the character development trumps LotE hands down except for Frodo's transformation.
But Dragonlance has character development/arcs for ALL the main group. Even Lauralanthalasa evolves massively.
Dragonlance was one of the few D&D series that I didn't get into when I used to play. Weird, I know...since it is one of the most successful.
I loved Ravenloft, Greyhawk and Dark Sun. Forgotten Realms was good too, but was the most "generic" setting.
Anyway...huge LOTR fan, but I get what you're saying. Appreciate the geek-rant. I don't see many of them on TA feeds anymore. Lol
Maybe u can give DL another try. I loved Ravenloft too in a different way, but if you start with the Legends trilogy then go back and read Chronicles, u might love DL
Legends is the more mature trilogy. Chronicles (where most people started and abandoned) introduces a TON of characters. Without knowing their backstory it's a lot to abs
Absorb which can make it feel a bit schizo. But going back to chronicles after Legends, Heroes, Tales and the standalone about Rasitlin... it shines.
With LotR anything in the books they cut out for movies was a loss. But with dL they could trim/tighten it up and the movies could potentially be on par or even better.
Than the books, which is rare for books --> movies transition.
Raistlin's transition from a neutral/self serving member, to a villain, to ultimately a tragic hero is one of the best character arcs in all of high fantasy IMO.
Cool buddy. Thanks for the info. I'll add them to my Amazon wishlist. :)
I'll buy you the legends trilogy if you promise to read all three before giving up
Haha...challenge accepted. For the record, I read War and Peace...including the 2 hideous Epilogues...without giving up. :)
...and by the way...I didn't mean I tried Dragonlance and didn't like it; I meant that I never got around to playing it or reading any of the books.
I'm sure I'll love it.
PM me your address if you're in the U.S. and I'll have it shipped from Amazon. If overseas maybe I can gift it via your wish list not sure
Nice!!!!!! Surprised you hadn't finished this yet.
