My latest rant
I gotta say it, Kinect sucks! Ok, now that thats out of my system, on to the rest! Is it possible nowadays to find a game that does NOT require you play coop or multiplayer to 100%? I want to play a game, a good game mind you, that does not require me to beg my friends to get a game that they don't like, or have me begging people to boost some lame ass multiplayer mode just to get even half of the achievements in the game. This is really bothering me. I absolutely love Dead Space 1 and 2, but i don't know if i will get 3. Why? They added coop. I know from past experience that when you add something like this to a game, there will be at least a couple cheevos to go with it. Now, i'm not totally against multiplayer cheevos, but every game made does not need them! Some games, Rock Band or Guitar Hero for instance, are multiplayer based and those cheevos fit. I'll never 100% one of them(mostly because of the expert cheevos) but i'm cool with that. Now, Red Dead Redemption as an example, didn't need them. It was a fantastic game by itself and i feel like all that multiplayer crap took away from the experience. Why do developers feel the need to include cheevos for multiplayer? There are people like me that, no matter how hard you try, just are not capable of even coming close to getting these legit. Then there are people that don't have online available to them( i know , i only had dial -up for years in the small town i used to live in). I just wish more games were made that focused on the story, the graphics, the gameplay and characters you could see yourself as more than worry about the damn "multiplayer experience." I know that what keeps me coming back to games is a great story, coupled with great characters. When you can sit down to play and look at the clock and see that you've been playing for 4 hours, even though you said you were only going to play for 1, because you wanted to see what happened next; thats the sighn of a good game. I miss that feeling.
