Since January of last year I've put up practically nothing, and ot feels fantastic.
It also shines a hash light on how SHIT 99% of releases are. I still play what excites me, but not much does.

The industry is overdue for a crash like the 80s one. I feel like achievements/trophies are the only thing holding it at bay.
Maybe for you...I still enjoy gaming and there are plenty of good games out there...Hunting achievements 24/7 will burn you out. Which is why I play for fun first.
I don't think achievements/trophies are holding a crash at bay considering the vast majority of gamers don't give a shit about either one of them but I do agree somewhat
that a crash may be overdue. Especially if so many games keep being released broken or in a half finished state so DLC can be shoveled out.
Are you "quitting" completionist gaming then LifeExpectancy?
If the industry is due for a crash, its because of shitty business practices by developers like cutting out parts of a game to re-sell later on as DLC
or releasing a game well before it's fully finished because of the "we'll patch it later down the road" mentality.
'put up practically nothing' you put up more gamerscore than me last year and I played most days lol
Yeh I'm in the same place IMO. I literally score for the GTASC and that's it. Only thing that's excited me lately was FFXV and PSVR.
Avoid playing garbage and you'll be cool
If I was as good as you at games I would never quit man.
I personally, after 12 years of XBL, still love the hunt and bleep bloop. Is a ton of crap, but its ok, keeps me out of trouble. I picked 2 hobbies, gaming and lifting.
"practically nothing" means about 50K since Jan 2016 . Sounds like a burnout, take a break and come back if that itch needs scratching.
If it doesn't, you left your mark and had some fun along the way. What's kept me going is a balance between good games and the trash.
I kind of agree with you... there is SO MUCH GARBAGE... and I swear that all these garbage games with extremely easy achievements is only catering to people going for
Achievements in general... so many of my friends on here/Xbox live... play these s**t games all the time that they would have never played before, but only because of ach
Achievements they spend the $6 on it... $6 wasted if you know the game is crap and you waste time with it... I will only be focusing on what I enjoy from now on.
I was at like 530k at the end of january last year. I think anyway. So only another 28k in almost 13 months
It fell off rather sharply at one point. I gotta look but I dont think Ive earned more than 5k past 6 months
I dont think its burnout as some have suggested. I seriously dont see myself playing anything if its just for gs anymore, and gs is the ony reason most games see the
Light of day with me. I dont expect more than 10 games a year to even pique my interest going forward. Shooters and sports games bore me in the AAA space
Will prob be mostly RPGs, platformers, and metroidvanias that I bother with anymore.
Noheroes - yeah man, I put paranautical on my tag to intentionally force myself off of obsessive completionism. Havent even tried to go back and 1k it. Dunno if I will.
your stats say you got 83k last year which in my eyes is not exactly taking a break... but yeah i agree on 99% of releases on X1 are shit.
I said after january. I did like 30k in jan. And my stats july to now paint a dif pic
But anyway no need to defend my semi retired status lol
no there's not
Dude, no you should not defend yourself. Gaming should only do one thing and that is make you happy. If you ain't happy, then do what does. Good luck bro!
I've started laying off of playing games just for achievements. When I first started they were fun. Now they kind of drain the fun out of gaming.
I still like trying to complete them but they don't dive my life in games anymore. I have a couple of friends that still play for achievements. I've gotten to the point
where I don't really like gaming with either one of them anymore because they don't play for fun. They always have an agenda and don't really "enjoy" the game.
I still have a nasty backlog of games I purchased for GTASC last year which we sadly failed out of early. I plan to finish them since I own them now but that's it for me
I do find it funny that so many people want to complete with achievements and then you look at their games and it's mostly crap games that are super easy to do but
a lot of people don't finish them so they have some high ratios. Especially the free games. I picked up Neverwinter and star trek for achievements. Hate them both....
I remember the days of playing games just because they were fun to play and not stopping just because you ran out of achievements.
^ I don't remember those days :P
I remember my foldout map from zelda that I had 'laminated' using packing tape so that it wouldnt fall apart.
Number one....hey at least it wasn't Number 2 that would be Poopy Nonsense ;)

Grats, could be first but the mini game is sooooo boring haha.Well done buddy ;-)
I loved that minigame.
Can you complete it for me ? :3 Do you need 180 words ?
Yep, you have to solve every single word in the minigame. It's somewhere around that number.
Also, thanks everyone. Easy to beat a game you love a lot!
Ok thanks for the info. It'll be horrible for me x)
