SnapDragon has rated the game Afterimage 4.5 out of 5

So, I enjoyed it for the exploration and the beautiful visuals. There's a ton of content, oodles of bosses and endings and random nice details.

That said, the story is gobbledegook, the translation is terrible, and the combat is poorly balanced. Magic is completely useless, making half the items also useless.

It's heavily influenced by SotN, which also had a bad story and translation, and a ton of random items and abilities that you had to figure out. But SotN made it work.
