Halo 5, for me, will go down as the worst Halo game that I've ever played. But it wasn't just the game's fault...
Becoming an adult gamer has caused lots of games to suffer, and it has definitely made it harder to enjoy games. Either I'm looking for a quick and easy finish,

or something I can simply play mindlessly for hours, wasting my time, getting some form of satisfaction from the game, but having life pass me by (and other games).
That factor is compounded by the fact that Halo 5 would probably have been so much more enjoyable if I still had all those friends who I played it with from back in the
day. RIP old squadmates, not sure if you've forgotten me, but I haven't forgotten you.
As for the game itself... The campaign was well...... it was a Halo campaign, you run around and shoot shit, the story was enjoyable I guess, and I liked that there were
actual bosses (as much as a FPS could have bosses anyways). You get to explore the Halo universe more, which is always a plus for me, but it did not leave a feeling of
wonder or excitement like many of the others before had. Maybe that's just because I know all of the mysteries of the universe at this point now.
The game was docked major points from me for the following reasons: 1) No Splitscreen - yeah, maybe I don't have friends to play with as much anymore, but that's what
Halo was built on. Ripping out one of the core draws of the game which made it fun was a bad move in my opinion. Thankfully it is slated to return in future releases.
I guess that complaint could probably be extended to the entire console generation. Everything is online, and relies on updates, and fuck cheat codes and fun exploits.
2) REQ Cards - Are you kidding? Granted, I'm thankful that the DLC has been free, but good lord, let me just unlock the things I want to with the points I'm given 2 spend
3) Armor Options - Once again, we see GEN2 Spartan IVs with hosed down armor options compared to what we saw in Halo Reach
4) Options - Reach, whether you liked the Campaign or MP or whatever, introduced so many amazing things from customization to matchmaking options, and we have yet to see
those return. Queue to Join Friend was the coolest thing I've ever seen to never be seen again. Want to join a friend that's currently matchmaking? Sure, we got you, we
will automatically make a slot for you to be placed in at the end of the match, you just have to wait. It was an amazing feature and it was definitely be missed. RIP.
5) The whole thing seemed to be more catered to caring about MLG competitions and whatnot than it catered to the fans and the people that actually enjoy Halo...
