Why is my GamerTag set to No Tracking?
TA says my GamerTag cheated in two different games. This is not true, but because I have no evidence to prove my innocence, my GamerTag has no tracking.
I didn't make this post to try and convince anyone of my innocence - I resigned myself to not having tracking on this site long ago. I only made it to let session hosts know what to expect when I join their sessions.
If I have joined your gaming session - I have absolutely no intention of cheating and will play legitimately and cooperatively with all session participants. I have over 98% positive feedback for gaming sessions.
If you don't want to play with someone labelled as a "Cheater" then I respect your decision. Please have the decency to remove me from your session before it begins with a comment or PM so I know why - then I won't bother trying to join any of your other sessions.
If you leave me in your session, and then not allow me to participate, then I am going to leave you negative feedback. I don't care if you "don't play with cheaters" - if you didn't remove me from your session, and then didn't invite me to participate, then you are a bad session host.
My "cheated" games are listed below if you care.First "Cheating" Occurrence
In 2009 I unlocked 8 achievements in Red Faction: Guerilla (GFWL) that are supposedly online-only. I was playing with several PCs offline in LAN play and these achievements unlocked. I don't know why this happened, or if this is normal, as I don't have the game anymore.
Someone reported my GamerTag for these achievements months later. As I had no evidence of unlocking these achievements while offline, the only option TA gave me was to have this game removed from my profile - which I took.Second "Cheating" Occurrence
In 2014 I was boosting Battlestations: Pacific (GFWL) DLC achievements using two PCs, both online. I alt-tabbed out of the game on my main profile so I could read the achievement guide, and on the dummy profile I set up all the matches for each DLC map, and deliberately lost the games etc. as the dummy to fulfill the DLC achievement requirements. When I alt-tabbed back into the game on my main account, the achievements for the DLC all popped at the same time, apparently all receiving the same timestamp.
TA detected "multiple disparate achievements with the same timestamp" a short time later. Because I had already had one game removed from my GamerTag, game removal was not an option, and my GamerTag was set to No Tracking.Summary
* GFWL is buggy
* TA's cheating policy is "guilty until proven innocent"
* If only these lines in TA's cheating policy were true:
** "We know the Xbox and those that develop games for it aren't perfect, and sometimes weird things happen that are out of anyone's control, we don't want to penalize people in those cases."
** "[Non-Stat Tracking] is to help protect users from problems after being hacked or from glitches that are not well known."
