Shotgun Style 3: The Dream Warriors. Summer and vidja games update
I did say to mark you calendars 6 months into the future last time guys. Anyway a little bit of a life update and a recap of the games ive played in between those few months.
Summer has been busy. 2 jobs barely struggling to get any gaming in between the two really slowed down a lot during the past 2 months. Thankfully, my wallet was thankful for the money I gave it and I surprisingly enjoyed my second job a lot, even if it was during the graveyard shift. With school coming up soon those hours will be used up the same way as it was during the summer sadly. Hopefully i can procrastinate enough from my college work to get some gaming in.
Anyway here's the short and simple reviews of the games I've played in the past couple of months since February.El Shaddai:
Well, at least this game looks good in the background. I have 0 clue wtf is going on in the story and have a lack of motivation to care.Saints Row Gat Out of Hell:
About what you would expect from a saints row game. Enjoyable if a bit short.Secret of Monkey Island:
: I always preferred the sequel as a kid. Still holds true today. Asking the voodoo head to give over the medallion by saying "please" multiple times is still pretty funny though.Sam and Max Save the World and Beyond Time and Space
: (lumping them both together just because): Back when telltale could actually write games worth a damn. Puzzles are head scrathing sometimes but the humor makes up for it. Jackbox Party Pack 1:
: You dont know Jack is great as always, Fibbage is good, word spud is terrible, I hate drawing so i suck at Drawful and Lie Swatter is OK. Not bad.Darksiders (again):
: when i go back to a game i played before i usually leave with a different impression because i was a fickle gamer when i was younger. In this case, I left the same way I did when i originally played it. A solid "mature" zelda-like clone. Refunct:
: It was a dollar and I had nothing to spend my xbox wallet on. easy achievements though.
Next part of the list was all from a month of Xbox game pass given to me by a friend who didnt really want it. Thanks Andrew :)The Swapper:
: What I thought was gonna be a shitty version of the fall turned out to be much better. Decent puzzle mechanics in this one.Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown:
: Still as badass as I remember it.SoulCalibur:
: Never played the original as a kid, started off with 2. Good thing I did as this game hasn't aged all too well. Still playable for a few rounds.Mega Coin Squad:
: *Squad Squad Squad* meh. Saints Row 4 (Again):
: Mix what I said about Gat out of Hell with what I said with Darksiders. The best saints row game since 2.3/4 Home:
: TRASH.Voodoo Vince:
: A strange game to remaster but a decent one to try out for the first time on Xbox one. Decent Platformer with a good sense of humor.Cel Damage HD:
: I played the original as a kid and the new mechanics alienated me for a bit, but it was a drastically improved remake. Doesn't make the game a one hit kill spawn fest now.The Incredible Hulk:
: Prototype minus the flying.Emily Wants to Play:
: If you can get lucky with the RNG then the game is a breeze, but it will hardly offer any tangible scares. Civilization Revolution (WP):
: Normally dont mention phone games but this was pretty faithful to the console version believe it or not. Not too shabby.Unravel:
: I am a sucker for ambient folk music so that already makes it worth a recommendation. Definitely a game worth playing to relax and unwind to.Gigantic:
: Nice to see a multiplayer game actually keep me interested, let alone a MOBA style game. What battleborn should have been (Heh).
Not even going to put a time limit on when I'll write the next one of these but expect it eventually. (As if anyone actually reads these) God speed everyone.
