...but then again, who does?
Today is a very special day for me. I've finally hit the top 100 on the TA Gamerscore page. 720,885 Gamerscore. I honestly can't believe it.
At the beginning of the year, I think I was around #250 or so. As some of you know, 2017 has been the roughest year of my life, and I have many friends to thank for helping me survive the various trials and tribulations I've gone through. From the absolute bottom of my heart, I am humbled, and so grateful.
As of right now, just in 2017, I've posted 148,996 Gamerscore, or 254,802 TA. I have 109 completions, just in 2017. The best year I ever posted before this was last year's 100,000. I shocked myself by hitting that number by the end of June.
I've spent a long time reevaluating important parts of my life, and chasing numbers needs to not be a major focus anymore. I've lost far too much in the pursuit of those numbers, an artificial representation of one's abilities in gaming, but something that I have always held in high regard. Today, that needs to end.
I'll be around. I'll play games for fun. I can't wait for Wolfenstein, Metro, Red Dead. I'm going to play games I've been missing, like Witcher, GTA5, and Star Ocean. (Okay, maybe not Star Ocean.)
I will still be on the site... it's my home. I appreciate everything this site has done for me. Rich Stone, you've done so much in creating this wonderful community. To my close friends (you know who you are), you mean the world to me. You're my family, especially when my definition of family has changed so radically.
To everyone else, if you need a boost or if there's anything I can do, I'll still have my library. Drop me a line.
Take care. Thank you for everything.
