Permalink2017: Week 48-49 - GTASC 5th Place Solo, 4th Place Team!
Scoring Period: November 27 - December 10, 2017
Ending Gamerscore: 579,280
Gamerscore Increase: 43,640
Games Completed: 49

Well it's been one hell of a ride this year. I just want to say thank you to my team mates for a really great year of gaming. Our finish of fourth was a bit disappointing I must say. Unfortunately Team UHH took off like a rocket, scoring a ton of stuff in games we didn't know they had preloaded. We knew they'd be the ones to stay ahead of and we just couldn't pull it off. It was sort of down hill from there. I am still super shocked with what they scored, especially since they did it while down a team member. Good job guys, it was a really great win.

Dan and I are still debating whether we should have score what we had left in the tank. In all honesty I'm glad I didn't spend the extra hours playing all the Minecraft I had. It was my daughter's birthday that week and we also through a Christmas Party for my youngest daughter's ringette team on the Friday. I have to say it was the most relaxing day I've had in a really, really long time. I find in this competition it's first or nothing. Once we realized we weren't going to beat UHH all the motivation just went out the window tbh. Maybe I'll save all that Minecraft and make a comeback in a couple of years if the competition is still going wink. Next year will be just for fun.

I'm still really happy with the year I had. I hit the 500K Gamerscore milestone just a bit ago and I'm now closing in on 600K. I improved on my 13th place finish a couple of years ago with a solid 5th place finish on the individual side this year. I managed to score 4th highest overall in the entire contest, so I'm really happy with that. I ended up scoring a whopping 414,421 TA over the course of the contest.

Too my team I must say I will miss our constant discussions about the contest. I hope we keep the channel open for more mundane boring gaming talk. It was nice when we were able to get together as a team and knock out some big achievements .. Deformers, Hawken, Gigantic, Happy Dungeons. If you ever need a boosting partner I'm always down.

Dan we've been through a lot of gaming the last couple of years. You really sucked me into this a couple of years back and it's been a crazy ride ever since. I would game with you anytime. I can't believe we actually talked you into playing Avatar this year laugh. I'll miss strategizing with you all of the time while having my husband asking me what the hell am I doing.

Oxy you were one of the first gaming friends I made on this site way back when. I still remember our first Tomb Raider sessions together. I thought it was so great meeting someone my age that was also female to game with. I realized there were more of us out there. You will forever be my gaming sister. Now it's time for us to get back to Dead Space 3. I'm sure we can find some other games to that will get me screaming in your earpiece (Oh how I miss Aliens laugh)!

Steve you were definitely the most colorful member of our team and while sometimes I want to take your keyboard away from you, you did provide us with some very memorable moments. I think the best moment must have been stopping UHH from continuing their badge streak with your timed NHL achievement. That was awesome!

Jake I didn't know you before this year, but I would game with you anytime. We worried about you not having a lot of preloads, but damn you can score when you need to. You even made the top 20 board in the end there. I will really enjoy the coffee you sent me after I wake up from this gaming coma I've induced upon myself.

As for the other teams, Godz it was really fun battling with you week in and week out. Dan and I really thought having the most badges would be a really great thing. Now I think preloading is still the way to go. You guys are some scoring machines. Congrats on the 2nd place.

English Warriors you guys scored a crap ton in the finals too. 2 of you scoring over 100k. You guys had a seriously awesome week. Congrats on the 3rd.

Gankers I'm really sorry for what happened to your team this year. I honestly think if things hadn't gone down the way they did you guys would have come out on top. Too score the way you all did a man down most of the year is seriously impressive. There's a reason why you all have come first so many times. I know things didn't end the way you wanted them too, but that was a solid 5th place all things considered.

Thank you Planting for putting on this competition! You put so much time into it for all of us yahoos on this site. It is very much appreciated!

Before I go I want to recap what I think was the funniest moment in the entire contest. During the first week when the guy popped the huge Elite: Dangerous achievements, someone went and started adding people to the site who had also popped it to lower the ratio. I swear I couldn't stop laughing when this happened. I still don't know who pulled that off, but it was funny as hell.

With all that being said, I'm finally free from all these shitty ACA games. Final Fantasy you've waited long enough!

That's it for now!

Permalink2017: Week 47 - A Glitchy Mess!
Scoring Period: November 20-26, 2017
Ending Gamerscore: 535,640
Gamerscore Increase: 6,305
Games Completed: 1

Lots of games and little time. Had a nightmare of a day on Saturday night last week. Had my daughter's 9th birthday party at Laser Tag (which was super fun). Came home exhausted and needed to score some points. Tried doing Little Nightmares DLC but it pretty much all glitched on me. Then I tried Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Edition and all of the crapped out on me too. Brutal night. Wish I could have put up some more score so we didn't need to use bonuses the next day. Wasn't meant to be though. Glad we got all those bonuses back though.

Pretty much played a bunch of random stuff. Nothing that was super great. We Are the Dwarves is really weird.

I'm just shocked that Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Edition actually got released in the state it's in. The game crashes on me. My cloud saves are acting up. Then the game starts telling me I have no room to save anymore. Seriously ... no room for some save files? Then the game decides to crash and even though my zoo actually is saved it loses all of my breeding progress. Absolute BS. This game is like a remaster of a current gen game. How could this not be polished by now. PIECE OF CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! angry

So on that note, I gotta get back to scoring cause it's GTASC Semi's! Good luck everyone!

That's it for now!

Crazy week. I'm super exhausted. I'm constantly walking around wearing my fugly Gunnar gaming glasses with my husband making fun of me. But, between staring at my computer for work and staring at the screen to game, my eyes really hurt. The glasses really help though, so there's a plug for Gunnar laugh.

I keep thinking I have a plan of what I'm going to play each week, but each week I end up getting different games and surprising myself with the points I put up in them. I guess when this GTASC is over I'll have a lot of games to go back to and play. While I bought them for this competition I doubt I'll get to most of them now.

I really didn't want to go for blocking first this week, but we have to score so much anyway at this point it really wasn't that much extra. I was just crazy busy with both my girls being in a tournament and I'm head coaching my youngest. It's a little too much on my plate right now. Super happy this is almost over. I know I keep saying that, but it's true.

Was able to finish of Town of Light (JP) this week and was 2nd person on the site to do it. Was going to try to go for first, but between taking the kids to school and having to get skates sharpened a lost a bunch of time. Darn you kids laugh!

Started up 911 Operator. It's an ok sim. Pretty simple. Don't mind it really.

So happy that Balarush recommended that I let him pull me through the rest of Van Helsing. Was super fun. Awesome TA too. Hard combo to come by these days.

Had fun grouping up with most of the team for some Gigantic too. Seems like these shooters trying to replicate Overwatch aren't doing so hot though.

That's it for now!

Permalink2017: Week 45 - Finiding some good games to play amongst all the crap!
Scoring Period: November 6-12, 2017
Ending Gamerscore: 522,620
Gamerscore Increase: 6,265
Games Completed: 1

Another week, another 6K+ in GamerScore. I love how GTASC has pushed me this year. Never thought I would hit the milestones I have this year. Next year won't even be close to this lol.

Played a couple of good games last week. Really liked Narcosis. Creepy underwater game. Was surprised there were no huge sharks to run away from. Just some aggressive fish and giant crabs. Good thing for me though. I can't handle underwater games with sharks.

Also played The Turing Test. Really like that one too. Liked it even more thanks to Maka's guide.

Bought and played Demetrios and of course it is now on sale this week. Just my luck. Game was ok. Couldn't finish off the fair part so I'll have to go back to that. Wish I could have realized that you could make manual saves. I would have done that. Good thing it's not too far into the game. Walkthrough says game takes 2-4 hours, but it is definitely a 6-8 hour game as most people have reported.

This coming week is very busy for me. 2 kids in a ringette tournament this weekend and I'm head coach for my youngest. Unfortunately both my daughters games on Friday are at exact same times at different rinks so I'll miss my older daughter's games. Hopefully my husband takes some video. I love watching them play.

That's it for now!
