When to put a game on the shelf?
Through almost the whole 360 era I wasn't that interested in achievements. It was first when Xbox one came and i started to max out game after game i was playing. It was like a drug traveling through me every time I took that last achievement in the games. The feeling of relife when somthing is done and you can move on.
But now i got some games piling up that i haven't finished yet, Outlast 2, Batman: Arkham Knight, Plauge Inc, Resident Evil 7, The Evil Within 2, and in march there is some of the biggest and most anticipated, for me, games coming out like A way out, sea of thieves and Far Cry 5. So when am I to put those unfinished old games on the shelf? Even as i try to complete all the last achievements i just get frustrated and I think it's so unbelivable boring. I have already played it, I have already finished it. Why do i have to do it again? Can't i put the game on the shelf and just not care? But then the feeling of anxiety from having unfinished games comes over me.
When i actually look at it, its only those unnecessary achievements that is really boring. Collect all this, but not just collect it. Collect it on the hardest difficulty. Like why the f*ck would i wanna collect collectibles on the hardest difficulty? Or those, finish the game on hardest difficulty but don't do this and don't use this. It gives nothing. Absolutely nothing more than frustration...
I really, really hate difficulty achievements. Don't get me wrong. I like a challange. But sometimes its just stupid...
Rant after 6 fails at Messiah achievement in Outlast 2.
