PermalinkBlog #1: 1,200 days aaaand it's gone.
On June 4th, 2014 I decided to try and see how many consecutive days can I go while getting at least 1 achievements a day. I couldn't have imagine that it would last for over 3 years. I know that there are others who have done this longer than me, especially those who've reached over 2,000 days, but to me this streak was quite unique. But now I say goodbye to it on September 15th, 2017 and to take a look what I've accomplished.

During this time, I have: played 253 games, completed 93 of them, obtained 5,760 achievements, and earned 160,850 gamerscore. Well at the same time, I've been able to reach both the 100,000 and 200,000 gamerscore milestones. And it is thanks to this streak that allowed me to achieve all of this, for the pressure of continuing this streak that pushed me to play many games, including games I would have never thought of playing beforehand.

But with every good thing, there is a bad thing to follow. Such as the mental fatigue of having to play games in order to get an achievement so I can prolong the streak. There are games that I have started, but never got around to finish them or even play them again, while at the same time there are days where I barely wanted to play games. Days where I just load a game, play until I unlock an achievement, then just quit the game without really enjoying the game.

Part of me is sad to see this streak had to end, but another part of me is glad that this is over, considering that for over the last year I've wanted to end this streak but never did. This did help me play more games and push myself further when it came to gaming, but it also made me lose some enjoyment of just playing games. What the future holds for me now is that I will still continue hunting for achievements and try to complete many games as much as I can, but also play games just for fun like I use to when I was growing up.
