Perpetual Bean Dive
Hi, I'm Xtowers.
I've been gaming for most my whole life. I dabbled in arcade games as a child (like the real arcade, not the Xbox arcade). I've had nearly every version of the Gameboy. My first console was the Sega Genesis, replaced rather quickly by the Nintendo 64. Since then I've owned or operated every major console on the market. In college I started PC gaming quite a bit. I work on my own PCs, upgrading what I can and replacing what is necessary.
My love of Xbox achievements and gamerscore started in April 2011, when I got my first smartphone, which also happened to be a Windows Phone. I started accumulating gamerscore on some free games and realized how fun and addicting it was. The leaderboards and social features were my sticking point, and in December of 2011 I got an Xbox 360 with Kinect through a buddy of mine. Even with the few games I owned it quickly overtook the Wii and PS3 as my main gaming machine. I've been an Xbox fan ever since.
In 2013 I upgraded to a Windows Phone 8 with a Nokia Lumia 925. I also bought the Xbox One on November 22, release day.
Now, as has been my creed always, my primary goal with gaming is to play more games. Thus, I often jump on good game deals if I find them, the reasoning is if I can save money on one game, I can use the saved money to play another game. Now, where do gamerscore and achievements fit into this? Well, my secondary goal with gaming is to have 50% gamerscore and/or achievements obtained. I feel that with at least 50% achieved, I will have played most of the game as it was intended and gotten a reasonable amount of entertainment out of it. Some games are harder than others, so it isn't always possible to get 50% for each game, but if I can get 50% completion spread over all the titles I own I would be satisfied just the same.
Now here's my problem: I keep adding titles faster than I can complete them. I keep finding deals on games and purchasing them faster than I can play them, but I will persist! I still game on different platforms, but Xbox is currently my console-of-choice due to what I feel is a superior achievement and social system. Thus, if I'm getting a new game, I'll get it on the Xbox before other consoles.
Finally, a tertiary goal is to complete games 100%. I don't always find it easy and it doesn't happen often, but it is quite satisfying when the final achievement pops.
So hit me up some time, ask me about a good game I've played recently or ask me about some great deals I've gotten in the past few days! There's bound to be some!
