PermalinkThe Random Game Selector Challenge! (Game #2)
Before talking about my next randomly drawn game, I figured I'd give my thoughts on Iron Brigade. After completing it, with dlc, I can honestly say the game was just okay. It wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst either. It was actually a bit more difficult than I was expecting, mainly due to the dlc. The survival achievements were a pain, and even the campaign missions from the dlc had a huge jump in difficulty. Luckily, to reward you for your efforts, the game also gives you much better weapons when you beat waves in survival. Hence why I saved getting gold medals on all of the base game missions as my last achievement. The weapons from the dlc made the gold medal requirements incredibly easy. Overall, including the dlc, I think it took me 20-25 hours.

Previous stats for Iron Brigade - Current Stats
Gamerscore: 50/250 - 250/250
Achievements 6/23 - 23/23
Completion Percentage: 26% - 100%

So I guess that means it is time to pull another game!
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Ugh, why did it have to be another tower defense game, that also requires coop. I really contemplated a re-roll, but I didn't feel as though it was in the spirit of the challenge, and would ruin the point if I re-rolled anything I didn't want to play. Still, I really wish it was something else.

I was actually really excited for the game, when I found out it was coming to Xbox One, and even more so when it was confirmed to be a GWG. I wanted to play it right away, but never got the chance to. This will actually be one of the games on the list that I haven't started yet. I do want to restate that I said that I'd try to get each completion, but if not, at least as much as I can accomplish before the next game. Now there is no time limit on these games, but if I feel as though I am no longer progressing due to difficulty, or need of an online partner that simply isn't available, I will move on. I don't see that being a problem with this one, as it seems to be more of a time consuming one instead of a difficult game.

Current stats
Gamerscore: 0/1000
Achievements: 0/50
Completion Percentage: 0%

Previous Games (Right now I only have one, but I figured I'd keep a list for those interested)

PermalinkThe Random Game Selector Challenge! (Game #1 Selected)
I have a HUGE Backlog that really needs some fixing. I'd like to get to playing some of those games, and attempt to complete them. However it can be difficult to go back to older games, especially when you have a lot of newer games to play. Plus in my case, being a reviewer means I have to play certain games at a specific time, leaving even less time for those old games. So, I did the first thing that popped into my head, I looked up a random game selector. It took a bit of searching around, but I found one that works well, and doesn't require you to use Steam, since obviously I am using this to try to get some older completions on Xbox.

I've just spent the last hour or so putting in all of my Xbox One and Backwards Compatible games into the randomizer. For now, I decided not to include my regular 360 titles, as that would take much longer to list them.

Now for the challenge aspect, I plan to do the first game that pops up each time, until I get the game completed, or in some cases, as many achievements as I can get. Once I've completed one, I will do a blog post about it, and move onto the next random game. I feel like this will be a fun way to motivate myself to get some more completions.

So, now time to reveal the first game drawn!
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

I'm not too excited about this draw, will be challenging, but I have played a bit of it in the past, and enjoyed it. I'm hoping it goes by relatively quickly. There are also some coop achievements in it, so if you are interested in joining in, comments or message me, I can use the help.

I am not sure when I'll start working on it exactly, I'm still trying to finish off a couple other games, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, and I've just started The Surge, although the chances of completing that one is low. It'll be within the week though.

Lastly, for anyone who may want to also participate,

Permalink(March 2017) Quarter Year Review
At the beginning of the year, I created some goals for 2017 in a blog post. I figured every 3 months, I'd do a quarterly review of how my goals are going, as well as some overall stats.

First thing to talk about is my already accomplished goal of 150,000 gamerscore. I definitely low-balled that goal, requiring me to only gain around 20,000 in a year. At this point, I have gained 26,570 in 3 months. Needless to say, I've flown quite a bit above that goal. My secondary goal, that I wasn't sure if I'd make was 200k gamerscore, which is definitely seeming more likely.

Next was my total completion goal of 110 games by the end of the year. At the beginning of the year, I stated I would need 37 completions to get to that goal. So far, I have gotten 29 this year, making the total 99. Just one more completion until the big 100, which is pretty exciting and have a special game planned for that one. Eleven more until I hit my goal for the year, which is beyond do-able. You might notice that the math doesn't seem quite correct there, that is due to some older completions that I decided to pick up dlc for, and recompleted them.

Finally, my list of specific completions I wanted to obtain in 2017. I listed a total of 35, and have completed 10 of them. These are those games that I've completed: (In order of completion date)

creptor5291's achievements in Jet Car Stunts
creptor5291's achievements in Crypt of the Serpent King
creptor5291's achievements in The Wolf Among Us (Xbox 360)
creptor5291's achievements in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
creptor5291's achievements in Ninja Pizza Girl
creptor5291's achievements in The Fall
creptor5291's achievements in Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition
creptor5291's achievements in Evolve
creptor5291's achievements in Wheels of Aurelia
creptor5291's achievements in Borderlands 2 (Xbox 360)

I haven't gotten as much of the list as I had hoped so far, but that is due to the amount of other completions that were unplanned. Overall I can't complain, plus I'm making some good progress on some other completions. Lastly, I will leave some highlights to some other completions I've gotten this year, because they were either difficult, weird or good games.

creptor5291's achievements in Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
creptor5291's achievements in RWBY: Grimm Eclipse
creptor5291's achievements in Bodycount
creptor5291's achievements in Riptide GP: Renegade
creptor5291's achievements in The Inner World
creptor5291's achievements in Doritos Crash Course
creptor5291's achievements in Rocket League

Thanks for reading, if you did :)
