The Most Underrated Game On The Xbox 360
A bit About Me:
I have been playing on Xbox for years now, started back in 2010, got my account banned and made a new one. Throughout my years of playing on Xbox, I haven’t come across a game that is so underrated then...The Simpsons Game.
I have been a big Simpsons fan for practically my whole life, I remember having a VHS tape that I watched at a very young age, after years of loving The Simpsons, I have built up a reasonably sized collection.
I first got the Simpsons Game on PS2 and Nintendo DS years ago. I also remember going to my friend’s house and playing it. I honestly loved this game to pieces; it was my favourite game at one point. I completed it on the DS and PS2 but never on the 360 as it's very expensive unless you can find a deal on eBay. Finally, in 2019 I got it from a videogame shop in Britain called "CEX"... yes, it's pronounced the way you think. I got it for quite a high price of £15 but I had seen it go for much more in CEX before so I though I would pick it up.
Once I got home and played it my mind was blown. It's very similar to the PS2 version of the same but with extra features. For example, it has a free roam section where you can roam Springfield and get collectibles and explorer. This was probably not included with the PS2 version due to the hardware but a free roam Simpsons?! what an idea, someone make that a thing. Grand Theft Simpsons. Anyway, I digress.
I also want to mention that I have completed this game many times, I set myself a challenge to fill all the spaces up on my PS2 memory card with completed save games, I completed the game 5 times for each memory card, I also completed it on my old account and completed it to 10% on my current account.
What I liked about the Simpsons game:
One thing I absolutely love about the Simpsons game is the story. The story is about The Simpsons figuring out they have 'powers' because there in a video game, there overrun by aliens and they have to use there 'powers' to defeat them and get help from other characters along the way. that’s he best way I can explain the plot without spoiling too much. But what I love so much about this plot is that it makes you feel you’re playing an actual episode of the Simpsons, I can see the plot of the game taking place in an episode. I could even see it as the second Simpsons movie....
Another factor that I liked about the Simpsons game is the level design. the amount of effort put into the levels are amazing. there's levels based on other video game franchises, levels exploring the unseen elements of Springfield that isn’t shown in the tv series and levels that are purely the creativity of the developers. I mean a land of chocolate level, pure genius. Not only is the chocolate level a creative idea, it’s also a through back to season 3 episode 11 where Homer fantasises about a land of chocolate after some Germans mentions that Germany is the land of chocolate.
A final factor that I liked about the Simpsons game is the challenges. After you have completed a level, you unlock the ability to play it on challenge mode. this is where you are given a certain amount of time to complete a task in the level. For example, in the 3rd level you are in an eating competition held by duff, in the challenge you have to destroy 30 tables in 1 minute and 30 seconds. completing these challenges can be difficult although is worth doing as you will receive an achievement for each one you do.
In conclusion, I highly recommend you checking it out, especially if you are a Simpsons fan. If it is a bit pricey for you, maybe wait for a lower price and definitely pick it up, its worth the money.
I hope you have enjoyed reading through my first blog that I have published.
