2020 year in review
2020 was a strange year, that much we can all agree on. A first lockdown at the beginning of the year meant I could focus on getting ahead on some big achievement lists I had sitting there for a while. Come May, I had to focus on my realtor exam, and thus I almost didn't play ANYTHING for 2 months (that had actually never really happened before!). And now, with this second lockdown in November, I could once more resume my favorite occupation: unlocking achievements. During this year, I discovered new favourite games and played long awaited ones, and I passed a lot of milestones I would never have thought possible before. Here are some of my highlights:Short/indie games I completed in 2020
- Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops
: been sitting in my backlog for years.
- The Walking Dead: Michonne
- Creature in the Well
- Tracks: a Train Set Game.
- The Walking Dead: A New Frontier.
- Old Man's Journey
- Surviving Mars
- Fractured Minds
- Don't Starve: Giant Edition
- What remains of Edith Finch
- Endless Legend
- The Bard's Tale ARPG
- Goat Simulator Win 10
- ARK: Survival Evolved
- Five Nights at Freddy's 2
- Pathologic 2
- The Touryst
- Day of the Tentacle RemasteredBigger games for which I had to invest more time:
- Star Wars Battlefront 2
: enjoyed every minute of it.
- The Outer Worlds
: one of my favorite, a game that brought me back to the Kotor days with its excellent writing.
- Fable III
: had the last weapon achievement waiting for years, and I've finally done it.
- Fable II
: same thing as III, it was nice finally completing them.
- Resident Evil
: rediscovering an old gem, still got 0 to do though.
- The Witcher 3 GOTY
: damn, what an incredible game.
- Battlefield 1
- Halo: Reach
: TA boosting sessions are the greatest.
- The Orange Box
: 11 years in the making to complete this game.
- Dead or Alive 6
- DOOM Eternal
: probably my GOTY
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Resident Evil 7
: one of the best games I recently played.
- PureAnd finally, games I progressed or played without completing them this year
: hopefully my first completion of 2021
- Just Cause 3
: maybe gonna take the XXL edition on sale to complete it.
- Resident Evil Revelations
: this is gonna be hard to finish, but it's a good game.
- Jurassic World Evolution
: halfway there!
: with 7 achievements left, I'm hoping the completion is near.
- Halo: MCC
: 17 achievements left, it will be nice to finish it.
- Call of Duty Warzone
: nice to play with friends, no achievements.
- The Elder Scrolls Online
: got back into it
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
: doing it for the 5th time probably.
- Age of Empires II: DE
: great game, with sooo much content.
- Killer Instinct
: this is gonna be hard to finish, but little by little, who knows?
This was, according to stats, the year that I unlocked the most achievements ever, due to COVID and everything, probably.
I hope that everyone will have a nice 2021, full of milestones and personal achievements. Cheers to everyone on TA!
