How did I pay $50 for an Amazon Fire tablet (2021 release)?
I got the
Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (64 GB) at Best Buy, although
Amazon does carry it too. I needed it to complete the
1.18 title update for
Minecraft (Kindle Fire).
For those of you who are unaware...
Amazon stopped offering the Kindle Fire release of Minecraft for non-Amazon Android devices.
Anyway, I have a funny story to tell about that purchase...
I purchased it for $220 at Best Buy. The price went down to $170 (a difference of $50) only a few days later after I had already received it. I found out through an email from
Paribus (Capital One Shopping), which automatically checks your Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or Hotmail/Outlook account for purchases to see if stores owe you money. The good part is that Best Buy has a
price match guarantee. So I contacted them (1-888-BEST-BUY / 1-888-237-8289) about it and was told that I would get a refund of $50 in about 10 days. However...
I actually received a refund of $170! 
Well okay then. I'm not complaining.
