What I have been playing lately, #1.
With the purchase of the X and the 4k HDR TV, that blog is now complete and upon reflection, I'm still amazed that I got both of them at the same time. Long review short, they are both exactly as I expected and wow, it's going to be a great five plus years of upcoming gaming.
When I first got the Xbox 360, I started to blog on another site about what I played over the past week. Let me tell ya, back then, on Friday at 4:30 pm, I would get off work and go back to the apartment that was empty as the then girlfriend would take the hounds and go to her parents for the weekend. I would be left alone until late Sunday night, it was pure Xbox gaming goodness. Anyway, the point is that I think I might try to blog like that again. I don't play as much as I did then but eh, lets give it a shot.Path of Exile:
I been playing this game off and on since it was released. As a free game, it is top tier for sure. The developer has been paying attention to feedback and the patches have been great. The game is so deep that I think it will lose a fair amount of people with the sheer amount of data that you have to understand and eventually, you will hit a hard and painful gear check.
This happened to be in act 6 and its the fire totems that are tearing me up. So, I went and found some fire res gear and mods. They made a good impact but the fun has left the game for me as I can still die really quick. I been following a guide as well so I feel like my build is good, I've just had bad luck on gear drops. And yes, I'm 3-5 levels above the areas I'm in. Will probably have to forget the game.Halo 5:
A friend and I played coop story on heroic and for the most part it was fun but wow, the AI squad mates are just terrible. Why can't they be at least smart enough to res you instead of standing five feet away? I mean the enemy AI is great. Visually with the 4k update, the game was really really beautiful and a nice game to show off your 4k TV. Shame it didn't get HDR.Quantum Break:
This game is a tad special to me as I won a physical copy from Stallion83 during a fundraiser stream. I been saving this game ever since I heard it was getting an enhancement patch. Well, it must of done a lot of things behind the scenes to make the game run better because it sure didn't make it look anything special. It seemed to use a lot of white textures that washed out everything. I tried the brightness thing multiple times to find a good balance and finally just had to turn the TV brightness down, it was just bad.
The gunplay sucked and there wasn't a decent gun until the very end but at least the achievements weren't too bad. The live action episodes were as awful as the current crap of fake dramas on TV. I'm really not surprised the game was a one and done. It also lacked polish among other things. Stay away!Forza Horizon:
I got all the achievements I care to get but I'm grinding out days played for Forza Rewards. It takes about five minutes to do one race but I really do enjoy the system. I got 10 more days to go and then I can finally uninstall it for good.Forza 4:
Same as above but I didn't play this originally while connected to Live because back then I didn't have gold so why bother being online. No biggie to start at the beginning as I really like Forza. Been playing since August and still enjoying it. Will be playing probably for the next few months as long as the server stays up.Trackmania Turbo:
I would of never bought this game but thanks to Games with Gold, I thought to give it a go. Generally I don't care for time based games and this game doesn't change that but its not terrible. Visually its nice and colorful and I like that the majority of tracks are quick to finish. I feel that some of the gold times will take a perfect run and don't get me started on that offroad, aka ice, slip and slide bs. Will play until I can't get any more easy cheese and then I will uninstall it.
