1,289 gamers have played the game. 471 have started it this month. 38 completed it so far (20 since last week). 15,387 achievements have been unlocked totaling 354,550 gamerscore which is worth 551,789 TA score.

  • BONUS RECAP:

Last period the bonus up for grabs was offered to the Solo side. The challenge was to end the scoring period with neither the number of achievements won nor the gamerscore won being divisible by 5. Why? Its fun to pop those funky scored achievements... isn't it? wink

Amazingly, 393 of us were willing to mess with our 'perfect' gamerscore to earn the bonus on offer Period 6. That's many more than I expected. The bonus was to end the scoring period with both your Gamerscore and Achievements earned not being divisible by 5. If you aren't in the list below and believe you should be, please let me know.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Of course with so many new bonuses being handed out, there are a handful of new Safety Benches to pass around - 141 of them to be exact. Here's the list of lucky folks.

The pendulum swings back the other way this period and the Teams are now tasked with ending the period having each teammate unlock an achievement with the word "Achievement", "Award" or "Trophy" in the title. As long as any of those words are anywhere in the title, you are good to go!

  • OVERACHIEVER INTERVIEW:

The fire is burning a bit low so huddle in closer to listen to what one of our Overachievers has to offer. Unmet Player of Period 1 Survivors is about to speak.
1) What pushed you to first place last period?
Unmet Player: After two weeks off from putting up lots of score, I decided I might as well try to get another 1st place finish. I also had a few achievements that were preloaded that I wanted to use to help with this period.

2) Did you play anything you'd recommend?
Unmet Player: I played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter which was an interesting and visually appealing walking simulator, but other then that, nothing else that really deserves to be recommended.

3) Across all platforms, what do you consider your favorite game and why?
Unmet Player: I don't think I have one game that I consider to be the best, but instead I have a favorite game from each genre. It is usually difficult to compare games from different genres. For the sake of this question, I will chose Need for Speed Rivals since it isn't a game that received the high amount of praise as some of my other favorite games. I don't play many racing games, but obviously I enjoyed rivals quite a bit. To me the game has very simple objectives with highly entertaining gameplay. It is the perfect game for a completionist since the only longterm objective is to reach max rank for both racer and cop which is done by completing a variety of cumulative tasks, races and events.

4) Narrowing that down to just Xbox One, what would you call your favorite? Why?
Unmet Player: Even though Rivals is on the One, I will chose a different answer. I tried to narrow it down to an Xbox One exclusive, but the closet got to one is Titanfall. I didn't play this one at launch and went into it with somewhat low expectations, but ended up liking it a lot. It is a competitive, fast paced multiplayer shooter that introduced and perfected lots of those core mechanics to the genre. It was fun to play both pilot and titan, and the game was constantly rewarding you for everything you did during gameplay, specifically while playing Attrition and Hardpoint. It is not a game that I can see myself going back to for any reason, but at the time, it was a very enjoyable experience.

5) What achievement are you most proud of earning?
Unmet Player: Similar to the previous two questions, it is just so hard to narrow it down to just one achievement. I think the most rewarding achievements are the ones you get for basically mastering the game. Not necessarily the incredibly time consuming ones or the incredibly difficult ones, but just the ones that you get after you fully learn the game, you pull off the last achievement you need and you feel a great sense of accomplishment. Some examples of this that I earned are the "Hard to the Core" achievement in Dead Space 2, any of the "The Dark Soul" achievements in any Dark Souls game, the "Perfect Knight" achievements in the first two Arkham games, "Goat Roped" in Halo MCC, and even some of the Dead by Daylight achievements especially when you pull them off against the more competitive players.

6) Do you listen to the game soundtrack when playing or do you listen to music?
Unmet Player: It really just depends on why I am playing the game. If its a new game I having anticipated for a while and playing for enjoyment, I would listen to the game soundtrack that is playing. If its game that I play regularly or a game that has mindless grinding and doesn't require me to listen to what is happening, I would put on music or just listen to podcasts. If its a game I am playing for the only purpose of achievements, I would put nothing on and focus entirely on a text/video guide in order to finish the game as quickly as possible.

7) Anything else you'd like to add?
Unmet Player: Thank you to the staff for organizing the event and letting me answer these questions! Thanks to the great gamers in the contest who give me quite a challenge and push me to put up lots of score! Good luck to everyone!

PermalinkGTASC 2018 - Period 5
Hello and welcome to another recap of the GTASC as well as a brief look at what's happening on TA and what the Games with Gold are. We're eagerly awaiting several big releases but at least there's some juicy free goodness that Microsoft serves up every month.

This period let's take a look at how the score is calculated for the GTASC. Contrary to popular belief, we do not keep tally of which achievements you've unlocked and award score for them. Actually, its a simple process that really accentuates what TrueAchievement score is all about. At the start of each period, we take a snapshot of your online won achievements, gamerscore and TA score. At the end of each period we take another snapshot of those stats. We then compare the two and that is what determines the ending stats. That means that since we snapshot your TA score and not look at individual achievements, every single achievement you've earned plays a part of your GTASC score. If you play something early and beat it only to have many more finish it in the following weeks, you'll suffer what has been termed 'ratio decay'. See this thread for more discussion on Ratio Decay: Ratio Decay

That said, its vital to ensure that you've scanned in any achievements you wanted to have scanned in before the period ends. Its not possible (especially as its a contest I run personally) to try to scan everyone at the end of a period. For one - with over 2,000 in the Solo this year the scanners would have seriously long queues which would effectively negate the final half hour or so of scoring due to waiting on a scan. It would also make last minute scoring pointless wink as you'd not get those points scanned in before the period ended.

So - be aware of those temporary high ratios as they most certainly will bite you in the end. Also, make sure everything you have intended to scan in for the end of the period has actually scanned in. Hopefully this helps prevent some accidental eliminations due to say... Monster Hunter.

Almost 2 weeks into Ryse: Son of Rome Achievements so we must ask - have you been swinging those swords in defense of your country?

953 gamers have played the game. 337 have started it this month. 18 completed it so far (7 since last week). 10,935 achievements have been unlocked totaling 250,555 gamerscore which is worth 386,908 TA score.

  • BONUS RECAP:

Here are the Teams that won the bonus up for grabs last period by ending with a Team gamerscore evenly divisible by 1,000. As always, if you think you should be in this list but aren't - please PM me and I can show you the data.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
As usual, some of these Teams just earned their first bonus. Here are those that have earned their Safety Bench.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

The bonus up for grabs this period has swung back to the Solo side and they are tasked with ending the period with an odd "weird" (not divisible by 5) gamerscore and achievement count. Yes, that means you have to mess up that "even" achievement score - even if it ends in 5 laugh

Watty8883 proved his worth as an assassin and has earned the right to the Unity of the Creed.

  • OVERACHIEVER INTERVIEW:

This is when we sit down with the Overachievers from the previous Period. Unfortunately, only the Solo Overachiever -
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - was able to answer the questions I sent.
1) What pushed you to 1st place?
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - For starts I've been trying to go for the bonuses each week to give myself a buffer, if I get crazy busy in a given week due to work (waiter), school (University of West Georgia - Chemistry major), and club lacrosse (club president and starting attack). Because of this week’s bonus, I needed to get 370 achievements for Period 4! shock

2) Did you play anything memorable?
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - I did not play anything that really stood out in a good way. I played a couple of movie/tv games in Period 4, which is an interesting segue into some of the later questions. For Period 5, I did start working on obtaining some of the dlc weapons for Battlefield 1 and I just beat the campaign for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent (somehow the only Splinter Cell games I haven't played yet). For the bad (and it is awful) I trudged through MotionSports on the OG Kinect to re-balance my TA ratio. Man, talk about a broken game... A game that wants a high level of precision for some of its challenges and has terrible tracking. 10 out of 10 do not play, you might throw your Kinect out of the window.

3) What is the origin of your gamertag?
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - The origin of my Gamertag is boring. I am adopted from Seoul, South Korea and my dad is a retired Air Traffic Controller. On top of that my childhood friend/buddy who got me into achievement hunting thought of it.

4) How would you describe your gaming den? Feel free to include pictures if desired.
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - I currently live in a three-bedroom apartment that is around five minutes from my school. One of my roommates is the face-off midfielder and treasurer on my club team and the other guy is a random who kind of keeps to himself.

In the apartment, we have a living space/kitchen and three separate bedrooms. Currently on what is supposed to be my desk I have a 50-inch 4k Sharp Smart tv (had to get one on the cheaper end since I got it right after I got my Project Scorpio X1X). I have the aforementioned Scorpio, a white PS4, and a Nintendo Switch hooked up right now. I have an older Bose system running through the headphone jack on the tv (shoutout outdated tech). I have a Netgear AC1750 router and run my Scorpio and PS4 through that. I'm going to have to avoid pictures right now cause my room is a mess and nobody needs to see that. facepalm

5) What TV show would you like to see made into a game? Why?
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - I feel like a game could be made from the FXX show Archer. They just added Archer Dream Land to Hulu so that is currently background noise for me while I'm gaming or studying and then I actually watch an episode or two before bed. I guess the issue here would getting a developer to be able to adequately capture the humor without being over-the-top. I'm assuming this would be a point-and-click though and everyone and their brother are making those and walking sims nowadays.

6) Heading the other way, what game do you think would make a good show/movie?
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - This answer might be a bit of a cop out because they kind of did a short web-series on it but Alan Wake. With Remedy taking the approach they did with Quantum Break, it would make sense. Can someone get them to make Alan Wake 2, please? Another game that could be successful is The Witcher trilogy. If they could make a great show out of it, they should make it air between seasons of Game of Thrones so I can have my high fantasy fix year-round. For the movie route make a movie for Spec Ops: The Line, that game is still one of my favorites from the last gen.

7) Which video game character wold best fit into your life? For instance - if you are a spy, having Solid Snake take over for a day might shake things up a bit.
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - That is honestly something I've never really given any thought to. Even though their intentions aren't necessarily good it would be cool to get a job at a place like Abstergo. With what that company is doing behind the scenes there would definitely be jobs there for chemists. Plus, with how big pharmaceuticals go to fix the symptoms rather than cure the disease it's not like everything my degree would open for me down the road would fit in with my ethics.

8) Is there anything else you'd like to add?
TH3FLYINGK0R3AN - Quick thoughts right now. As a sports fan, the Cleveland Cavaliers fire sale today was interesting and of course Portland is just over there sitting on their not-so-great overpaid role players wasting Dame and CJ's prime...

For gaming: I'm cautiously optimistic about Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The recent list looks promising, that trailers have me excited, Deep Silver as a publisher, not as much. I'm also probably passing on Sea of Thieves (not my cup of tea) but if Microsoft puts Rare on rebooting Fable I'd be oozing with joy. And again can we please have Alan Wake 2? Lol.

Best of luck to everyone in GTASC!

  • BONUS RECAP:

The bonus up for grabs last period was Gotta Have My Pops which asked Individuals to end the period with at least double the achievements they had the period before (Period 3). This one was well received by the community as the 472 bonus winners are listed below. If you think you earned double or more than double the achievements in Period 4 than you did in Period 3 and aren't listed below, please contact me.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
Along with a bonus comes a slew of Safety Benches. Again, these are special bonuses that are worth a bit more (2,000TA Solo | 4,000 Team) that are given to you when you earn your first Bonus. Prove to me you want to play and I'll give you a little something in return. Here's the list of all 376 that picked up those juicy points.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

As always, please give us upwards of a day to get these applied.

This period the bonus up for Teams to grab is 1K All the Way. This one is pretty straightforward. Your team needs to end the period having earned Gamerscore that's a multiple of 1,000. That means if you score 1400GS and your partner scores 1600GS - that's 3,000GS and you're good to go!

This period we'll take a quick look at the GTASC 2018 - Donations thread. If you are still active in the contest, you are eligible to win prizes listed in there. You'll find anything from Steam games to Xbox games, DLC, maple syrup and whatever else we have in our collections that we'd rather a community member have. Things are added randomly as the event unfolds so make sure to check back frequently. With that said, here's who earned goodies during the last period.

ChinDocta earned himself more delicious syrup.
Watty8883 went the distance to earn Fester Mudd Curse of the Gold Episode 1
XTRA 2kofawsome blitzed the list and earned 1953 - KGB Unleashed, Bob Came in Pieces, Dream Pinball 3D, Gravity Badgers, McPixel, Deathstate and of course Dungeon Souls
j12damax picked up a game in the bloodbath as well - Deathstate

  • OVERACHIEVER INTERVIEW:
Here we are again sitting down by the fire with our Overachievers from Period 3. This time we have all 3 with us. The Solo Overachiever as well as Cheer After Cheev.
1) What pushed you to 1st place this period?
CinamonTstCrnch: Still trying to get that 365k this year!
Conor x420a: Honestly I was just working my way through some easy 1-2 hour games as the period started so I could push my gamerscore past the 600k mark, Then I got talking to my teammate Rush about how the backlog of games we both have is massive so he popped a few Neo geos in and next thing we know we’re sitting in second place for the week, at that point we decided we would push a little farther to nab that first place finish and get ourselves a few extra bonuses.

Hats off to the team ‘Partridge ah ha’ as it was obvious they also wanted the 1st place finish and were not going to let us take it without a fight.
oI 420 RUSH Io: we as a team didn't originally plan to push for the top spot but after a bit of cheeving to clear a small amount of the backlog we were sitting in 2nd and just thought why not go for it. Credit to partridge ah ha for pushing us too... made it more worthwhile.

2) Did you play anything you'd recommend?
CinamonTstCrnch: Mages of Mystralia was actually a pretty fun 5-6 hour completion I would recommend it to anyone going for some quick points without a lot of frustration.
Conor x420a: That’s a though question, although I must have played 10+ different games I can’t say I was to fond of any of them, I did enjoy certain stories on ‘what remains of Edith finch’ and mopping up some ‘resident evil 5’ stuff apart from that nothing really stands out.
oI 420 RUSH Io: nothing too exciting was played this period but I'm currently working on lords of the fallen. I'm making progress in it to tidy it up and would highly recommend it. Great game and the guides made by people on ta for it are great.

3) What are the origins of your gamertag?
CinamonTstCrnch: I think we can all agree that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the best cereal there is so I was just paying my respects.
Conor x420a: Well I’ve had a few different gamertags over my Xbox career but all rather similar to one another, I’ve always liked to include my name in my gamertag just so when I’m talking with people they refer to me by my real name, as for the x420a part it was in reference to the website x360a.org were I spent a lot of my time using game walkthroughs and gathering boosting partners, the 420 came into it in the way you might have guessed lol 7 years ago when I made my gamertag I was 18 and very much enjoyed inhaling a certain plant, I still do from time to time nowadays laugh and with the combination of these 3 things Conor x420a was born.
oI 420 RUSH Io: Hahaha if you know... You know. The name sort of speaks for itself. Makes some of the boring games so much more enjoyable. I've had this tag name for years so it's been like that for a long time.

4) Is there any game or genre you won't put on your gamertag?
CinamonTstCrnch: I usually won't start any games that have discontinued and unobtainable achievements. I like them completions man.
Conor x420a: Games I wouldn’t put on my gamertag would probably be anything I don’t think I have a shot at getting 100% on although I’m in two minds over Monster Hunter.

Mostly sports games to be honest games like FIFA, NBA and NHL.
oI 420 RUSH Io: I'm open to almost any style of game as long as it's within reach to complete. I do generally try and avoid some of the more harder online related games. The reason behind this is mostly to do with server closures as I hate not having the ability to complete a game say 2 years down the line. I wish game companies would provide methods to obtain these types of achievements after server closures to allow people to continue to enjoy their games and more importantly to get them cheevs

5) What originally brought you to TrueAchievements?
CinamonTstCrnch: Well TA is pretty high on googles list for achievement guides so just finding it through google when I started achievement hunting.
Conor x420a: From what I remember I stumbled on to TA the same way I do most other websites just through googling the name of a certain game or achievement and putting the word guide after it haha but now days TA is always the first place I look to for tips, guides, boosting etc. And with things like GTASC and leapfrog it helps push me to start and finish off achievements I would have otherwise not looked back on.
oI 420 RUSH Io: My team mate did. I always liked achievements and did wonder about how you stacked up in the world of gamers and luckily he came across TA. Absolutely banging find imo.

6) Is there anything else you'd like to add?
CinamonTstCrnch: Shoutout to Maka91 his 100% walkthrough videos are extremely useful!
Conor x420a: I would just like to add a thank you for giving me the chance to answer these questions and I wish everyone good luck with the remainder of the GTASC and I hope everyone achieves their gaming goals this year.
oI 420 RUSH Io: Just for the guide makers and people who provide easier methods or info on TA to keep up the good work. Not all heroes wear capes. ;)

PermalinkGTASC 2018 - Period 3
Hello, my name is Warren and I'm here to talk about video games and how they can lead to eternal life. Please don't slam that door, I've got some juicy stats here sure to please! The TA Playlist is winding up today to we'll offer a final tally of how we did as a community. This week's GTASC feature will focus on the stats pages. We've got replies from a couple of our Overachievers so stay tuned for a window into their gaming lives. We'll also check in with the Games with Gold program since February's games have been announced. Maybe we'll even spend a bit of time checking into the stats for Period 3 wink

The bonus on offer last period was fitting considering we're in the middle of flu season... each teammate was tasked with being infected. No - not stuck home from work - they were asked to each unlock an achievement flagged as viral. This did cause a few impromptu viral sessions on site which was pretty cool. As that is a bonus that we have to scan for, it will be handled once that's complete. Please give us upwards of a day to get it applied.

This period the bonus has swung back to the Solo side. Those gamers are tasked with unlocking at least twice as many achievements as they did the previous period. If you unlocked 55 achievements last period, you need to unlock at least 110 achievements. This is certainly easier for those that didn't push it. Expect to see Orange Box, Master Chief Collection and TurnOn in the stats coming up.

Speaking of stats, did you know that TA keeps track of quite a bit of the stats for each event? Not only are the top 50 players for each contest tracked on the hub page itself, the last several periods elimination is represented in graphs on the stats pages for each contest.
Individual Stats
Team Stats

Each stat page shows the top games and achievements with controls that let you switch between each period of the contest as well as the entire contest and another that changes the stats between TA score, Gamerscore and Achievements. I note this data in the recaps near the end of each contest's segment in the recap. You'll see a group that tend to dominate the stats but you'll also find some good examples of quick points by looking for games played with TA and GS earned that are similar. The new hotness this period is certainly Asemblance and I think its estimated at a half hour or so of gameplay for completion. Rememoried is also quite the quick game worth looking at.

  • GAMES WITH GOLD:

Available until January 31st
Xbox One: The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III
Xbox 360: Army of TWO | Army of TWO (EU) Achievements

Available until February 15th
Xbox One: ZOMBI
Xbox 360: Split/Second

Available until February 28th
Xbox One: Shadow Warrior
Xbox 360: Crazy Taxi

Available until March 15th
Xbox One: Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India

Nearing the end of HITMAN month now its clear this wasn't the easiest completion. The stats are certainly reflecting the relative difficulty of the game as well.

Here's the final roundup: 4,103 gamers have played the game. 2,332 have started it this month. 83 completed it so far. 27,219 achievements have been unlocked totaling 485,310 gamerscore which is worth 885,218 TA score.

  • OVERACHIEVER INTERVIEW:
Here we are again sitting down by the fire with our Overachievers from Period 2. This time we have the Solo leader - CinamonTstCrnch and one of the members of Period 1 Survivors with us.
1) What pushed you to 1st place last period?
CinamonTstCrnch: I have a goal to get an average of 1K a day for gamerscore this year (365,000) and ending up in 1st last period kind of went along with that.
Unmet Player: We managed to place first last period and the other teams didn't seem to have too much score so we decided to take it one more time for the streak bonus. Also, it was a good way to boost my monthly score even further than I had done the previous week.

2) Did the recent Game Pass announcement sell you on it? How do you feel about that deal?
CinamonTstCrnch: I've always been interested in game pass but the recent announcement has definitely made it more appealing. I mean if I play 2 full priced games during the year then it pays for itself so I think it's a great deal.
Unmet Player: I don't usually buy into subscription based services, and I don't plan on that changing with Game Pass. I think the announcement is great though for those people who do want to subscribe, and I do think that they would be getting a good deal. For me though, I'm not really anticipating many games anyway so it just wouldn't be the best choice.

3) Nintendo announced a cardboard 'peripheral' that extends the functionality of the Switch. What is your take? (
)

CinamonTstCrnch: It looks pretty interesting but I would be worried about the durability of it. Although I have yet to get a Switch so I don't have a big opinion on it.
Unmet Player: I always like how Nintendo seems to change things up a bit and try new things. I think fans of their products will probably enjoy the new peripheral, but I'm not too sure how long it will stick around. I haven't played anything from Nintendo in years. I mainly stick to Xbox.

4) There's a lot of hype that Fable 4 may be in the works. Did that series ever call to you? What about it was the most magical?
CinamonTstCrnch: Yes I love the Fable series it's one of my all-time favorites. What appeals most to me is just the goofiness of it and the simpleness to the combat. I didn't understand all the hate for Fable 3 I probably had over 100 hours of fun on that game playing co-op with friends.
Unmet Player: I briefly played Fable 2 and 3, but never got around to finishing them. The series never really caught my interest. Nonetheless, it would be cool to see the series make it to the Xbox One especially since the Xbox One is somewhat lacking in exclusives.

5) Most of us have a favorite genre or style of game that we enjoy. What is yours? Care to cite a few examples of must play games?
CinamonTstCrnch: I really really like turn based RPGs which unfortunately don't come out very often anymore. Final Fantasy X probably being my favorite of that genre. To be honest though playing too much of one genre would make it boring so I like to just play them all except for Racing and RTS not a fan of those.
Unmet Player: My favorite games are all over the place in terms of genre and style. I think the safest genre for me would be first person shooters as I tend to usually enjoy most of them I play. My must play games would be Dark Souls, Need for Speed Rivals, Dead by Daylight, and Arkham Asylum. Again, genres are all over the place.

6) Is there anything else you'd like to add?
CinamonTstCrnch: Good luck to all my GTASC 2018 competitors and a big thanks to the Trueachievements staff for making the best site for all achievement hunters.
Unmet Player: It's been a really good two weeks for me in terms of scoring and this will definitely be my highest scoring month for a while. A lot of though competitors in GTASC right now, and I wish them all the best of luck. Thanks to planting42 and the rest of the staff that organize this event!

PermalinkGTASC 2018 - Period 2
Hello ladies and gentlemen. We've reached the end of the 2nd scoring period in this year's GTASC. We've completed one cycle for bonuses - having offered one to both contests. Interestingly enough, although the one offered to the Solo side (Party Like Its...) required less from the gamers - it was won by significantly fewer than the Team bonus (Dig Deeper) which asked folks to earn 6,000GS or more. I wonder if the fact that you have to sit with an 'odd' gamerscore for at least a day played a part.

129 Individuals have paid homage to the year we're on by earning a multiple of 2,018 gamerscore. These will be applied shortly. Additionally, this being the 1st bonus on offer for the Solo side means all 129 have also earned their Safety Bench. If you expected to be in the list below but aren't - please reach out to me and we'll dig into the data for you.

Being as there are likely many that are unaware of the whole Badge meta-game, I figured this would be a great time to dig deeper into how that aspect of the contest works.

Each period there are 6 Badges awarded. Each represents an extreme in the event. The 6 categories are Overachiever, That Was Close, Achievement Grinder, That Was Easy, Achieveaholic and Achieveaphobic. Overachiever is given to the Solo and Team that takes 1st place in the period. That Was Close is given to the Solo and Team that rides the elimination line. Achievement Grinder is given to the Solo and Team that ends with the highest ratio (TA/GS). That Was Easy is given to the Solo and Team that ends with the lowest ratio. Achieveaholics is given to the Solo and Team that unlock the most achievements. Achieveaphobics is given to the the Solo and Team that unlock the least achievements.

Now there is a deeper level to this game. If you can unlock one of these badges in back-to-back periods, you get a badge for the feat. Those 'special' badges are also stackable. That means, if you manage to get Overachiever for 3 periods in a row, you'll have received 3 Overachiever badges as well as 2 Top Dog badges. These 'special' badges really have the potential to shake things up if you can keep your badge win streaks alive. On the flip side, its probably worth it to break someone else's streak if its within your power. As you may remember from last year - these things can pile up quick if left unchecked.

That's not quite the end of it though. If you can earn all 6 different Badges, you will win a different special badge to note your progress named 'Full House'. If you earn multiple sets of Badges, you can earn multiple 'Full House' badges. Similarly, if you can earn all Bonuses offered to the contest, you will earn the 'Completionist' badge. See a list of all Bonuses below. 20 will be offered in the end to each event - not including the freebie 'Ayudame'.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
All Badges and Bonuses are worth the same: 1,000TA for Solo and 2,000TA for Team.

  • GAMES WITH GOLD:

We've been playing HITMAN this month so let's check in and see how we're coming along. Since part of the game is free, I expect to see decent participation but much lower overall stats.

With only 1 week left in the month, 3,406 gamers have played the game. 1,870 have started it this month. 57 (12 in the last week) completed it so far. 21,901 achievements have been unlocked totaling 390,670 gamerscore which is worth 708,689 TA score.

  • OVERACHIEVER INTERVIEW:
Every period we will ask the Overachievers a few questions about themselves and their gaming habits. This is the first of the interviews we'll have. Since we want to give these folks time to reply, each recap has the Overachievers from the Period before. So, here are the folks that started off the contest with a storm - the Solo champ Shank1998 and the Team champs Period 1 Survivors.
1) What pushed you to 1st place this period?
Jinus2015 - We wanted to make sure our name was accurate so we did our best to get as much as we could donelaugh
Shank1998 - To be honest had a pretty poor year last year. Had a lot going on and wasn’t able to game that much. Coming into 2018 this was a year I wanted to push myself further than I had before and I saw Period 1 as a good place to start. I saw an opportunity to potentially come first and I pursued it right down to the last couple of minutes.
Unmet Player - I have a lot of games that have been stacking up on my Xbox over the past year and have very quickly been running out of space. I wanted to use this first week to try to clear some of those games off my Xbox and try to see how much Gamerscore I could put up in a week. In the end, I wasn't able to pass Shank1998 on my own and it was Jinus2015 who scored a little over 1,800 that pushed our team into 1st place.

2) Did you play anything you'd recommend last period?
Jinus2015 - I would recommend Late Shift for anyone who hasn't played it. It was a great game and very immersive with many different outcomes to the story.
Shank1998 - I played a lot the past week but the first game that comes to mind is Her Majesty’s Spiffing. Hilarious game even when following a guide. Reminded me a lot of Monkey Island. Two others would be No time to Explain, a fun challenge, and Minecraft, which I personally think lives up to its name.
Unmet Player - The obvious answer would be Bioshock since it is one the best games you can find on the Xbox 360, but since I already played it several times before, I'll give a different answer. Most of the games I played were not really something I would recommend, but I actually found myself enjoying What Remains of Edith Finch quite a bit. I usually don't enjoy "Walking Simulators", but Edith Finch actually has an interesting story. As recommend by Maka91 in his walkthrough video, Joseph Anderson's Edith Finch video is something worth watching if you are interested enough in the game.

3) What is the origin of your gamertag?
Jinus2015 - After I had to start a new account I decided to take my old gamertag and give an omage to it and that is why it is Jinus and I also made it in 2015.
Shank1998 - The origin of my gamertag came back when I was reading the Harry Potter books. My parents had decided to let me get an Xbox, using the Kinect as a reason to, and I knew I needed to think of one. I was reading Harry Potter and came across Hermione’s cat, Crookshanks, and I thought Shank was a cool idea. The 1998 is just my birth year.
Unmet Player - The name came from Civilization V. People who played that game might understand it, but I don't think its necessary to explain it. It was just a dumb joke that I just ended up keeping as my steam name and eventually changed it to my gamertag. I have changed my name many times over the years, but this one will probably stick around for a while

4) Are you looking forward to any upcoming release? If so, which one?
Jinus2015 - At the moment I am not looking towards any game coming out but playing some games that I missed out on in Q4 of last year that were amazing.
Shank1998 - I’m really looking forward to Monster Hunter World but won’t be getting that for a bit. I’m also excited for Far Cry 5 and will be pre-ordering the collector’s edition to add to my ever-growing collection of statues. Also looking forward to Sea of Thieves and Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered especially cause they are coming out on my birthday here in Australia aha
Unmet Player - The only game I'm really excited for is Dark Souls Remastered. I am a big fan of the series and plan 1000G the game for a third time when it is released. With the release coming soon, it might finally motivate me to go finish up Dark Souls 2 on the 360 and the One.

5) What are your thoughts on the Games With Gold program? Do you enjoy the freebies we get?
Jinus2015 - I like that we get free games every month but most of them I have already played and I do not think that we should be getting games with shutdown servers, very broken, and games with discontinued achievements as well.
Shank1998 - I think the GwG program is quite well done. I have a massive backlog of games so it’s not uncommon to get a game I have already got but there have been some pretty amazing games in it, So Many Me for example. I always look forward to seeing the next months when it gets announced.
Unmet Player - I used to enjoy it a lot, but lately the games have failed to peak my interest. Games with Gold is actually what introduced me to the Dark Souls series actually. I also enjoy the occasional easy gamerscore.

6) Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Jinus2015 - All in all I hope that I can beat where I got last year in the competition mid April and then on top of that try to beat the most gamerscore earned in 1 day. I'm so close to getting everything set up for it!!!
Shank1998 - Want to congratulate Unmet Player and Jinus2015 for winning the team portion. I tried to catch up but only just pulled through for the single portion. Also to Maka91, as most people are probably aware, you do awesome guides and they helped heaps! Also Itzz Sh0wt1m3 for all your help with Minecraft worlds. You both do this community a great service 😊
Lastly just want to thank TA for setting up this competition. Though we are only in Period 2 I already have had heaps of fun.
Hope to everybody on the Leaderboards!
