The trouble with boosting...
Yu may be expecting me to come in here and talk about how wrong and immoral boosting is, and how I wish I could stop it forever... But the truth is that... That is comletly true!
I joined a boosting session for home front, and I earned a weapon expert achievement, and while it was cool to boost with some people and hang with them I didn't have the same sense of victory as when I finally beat the single player campaign legit, or got five star threat without boosting.
I hate to be the person who says this, but boosting ruined modern warfare 2, and I feel like if we let it continue it will de-value a good number of achievements, but that's just coming from the view of someone who has only had ONE good boosting experience, and HUNDREDS of bad ones.
I know that I can't stop people from boosting, and Im not going to try to stop it, no matter how much I want to, but I can at least take some small and secret pride in the fact that I'm not going to boost anymore, and only have one boosted achievement.
By gamerscore standards boosters are better, but for me an achievement isn't worth much until I've put my blood, sweat, and tears into it, and every sweet sweet point reflects just how much time I've worked for it. There was nothing sweeter than Star 69 poping just after I completed MW2, or the All gold achievement in diorites crash course, which took like five or ten hours. Every one of those achievements has a story and a life of it's own, and I hope that people realize that and try to only earn their achievements without boosting.
