PermalinkVONCOIN (#TrueAchievements #Gaming #XboxOne #Xbox #VonCoin #Blockchain)
I signed up for the VonCoin Beta about a month ago when it was announced on TA and the release date is approaching. If you didn’t notice it, they announced it on the news page that they partnered up with the folks at True Achievements. In a little over a week the beta will be available to some of the TA members. If you are wondering what its all about, this is what the VonCoin website says:

Von Coin gives you the chance to ‘Reclaim What’s Yours’. We will verify your achievements, issue you a Von Coin and then give you the ability to buy real products for those coins. By getting brands and publishers to sponsor auctions within the Von Coin app with exclusive limited edition products, we’ve finally figured out a way for gamers to get real rewards from gaming! Von Coin is a blockchain based token that gives Xbox One users the power to trade their achievements for real products. Join the revolution today!

Here is the link: https://voncoin.club/

So there you have it, I have been patiently waiting for this to become a thing so I can dive into some more Xbox One games that have been sitting on my shelf.

QUICK MOVIE REVIEW (Retro Review)
Cast Away - 7
It was a pleasure to watch Tom Hanks work his craft in a part that required him to act without much dialogue. A good portion of the film takes place on a small island after his plane crashes into the sea. Hanks survives day by day as best he can marooned on a remote island completely devoid of human life. The director lets you fully experience the isolation from Hanks' point of view. He makes you think, how would I fare in his shoes? Watching Hanks stuck in his situation really gives you an appreciation for the comforts of home and how some things shouldn't be taken for granted. PC

PermalinkSAY GOODBYE TO YOUR AVATAR GEAR (#TrueAchievements #Gaming #Xbox #Avatar #Microsoft #LostMoney)
Leave it to Microsoft to fiddle with something that didn’t need fiddling with. I never was big into the avatars and only saw them as a response to Nintendo’s avatars when they were released. I created one on the day and never touched it after that. I feel bad for all the people that spent a bunch of money on items, cause it looks like now you can not use any of the stuff you bought or unlocked by playing games from your Xbox 360 with the new system on the Xbox One. I barely spend any money on avatar items, but I did buy a Star Wars Zuckuss Bounty Hunter outfit that I have been wearing forever. The only reason I bought it was because it was actually one of the coolest looking things that was ever created for the avatars and now that’s gone. Thanks Microsoft!

I am looking forward to the upcoming Masquerade of Liars event in a a few days. It’s basically the Halloween event for Neverwinter (The link will be below). This year they will be doing something different in that there will be a faction competition as part of the event. I am also recruiting for out guild (Old World Legends) idk you are in need of a guild or are deciding to start an adventure in a new world.

R.U.S.E. (41/50 Achievements)
I decided to pick this title back up and add it to my completion count. To start I need to get to Rank 100, so I have another 39 Ranks to go for that achievement. I am playing through the story missions on the medium difficulty while completing all the secondary objectives. So far it’s been like riding a bike, everything is coming back to me fairly easily and I am really enjoying it without the added pressure of a server closure. I may even fire up my Command & Conquer games by the end of this.

Saint’s Row IV (DONE)
The Row is complete for a fourth time. Overall an enjoyable sandbox that plays more like crackdown then Saints Row. There was one night that the DLC kept freezing the game one me. Ironically it was called How the Saints save Christmas. The next day it worked just fine on the first try.

State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition (45/72 Achievements)
200 zombies dead by bladed weapons and another challenge is in the books.

State of Decay 2 (64/91 Achievements)
Resident Evil 4 HD (5/12 Achievements)

QUICK MOVIE REVIEW (Retro Review)
Ready to Rumble - 7 1/2
A movie about wrestling? You could say this is a dumb idea. I thought the same thing, but this movie is silly fun. It's plain outright funny and lightly peppered with some philosophical one-liners. It also transcends the idiotic mainstream wrestling acts with their scripted story arcs. The director does a nice job of balancing a story in the backdrop of a pay perview wrestling spectacular. He also shows us the wide spectrum of attitudes about wrestling with viewpoints from its rabid diehard fans to the non-believers who have an utter hatred for the so called sport. At the same time giving us a glimpse behind the scenes. Overall it was very enjoyable. PC

PermalinkA QUICK QUIET MONTH (#TrueAchievements #Gaming #Xbox #TheWalkingDead #Aliens #Netflix)
September was relatively quiet and it just flew by without me creating a blog. I said I would make a better effort to blog more and before I knew it a month passed (I want to write something at least once every 2 weeks). So this is me trying to make an effort and keep on track while trying not to let another month fly by without a blog. I usually write my opening paragraphs/thought of the moment relating to gaming in some way. Since I have no specific topic to talk about I will just talk about stuff I did in general over the past month.

I continue to play a good deal of Neverwinter and I also have a 360 Game (Saints Row IV right now) that I concentrate on completing. I wanted to knock out some multiplayer this past month, but I just did not get motivated to put up the needed sessions. I will need to focus on that once I complete Saints Row. I can’t say for sure what the reasons are, I know i am not the hardcore gamer I was in the past. My gamerscore proves that, or I just play games that take a long time to complete like Neverwinter. Neverwinter never ends since there is always a new module on the horizon. It’s a 5 year old game with 15 modules and it doesn’t look like they will be stopping. It is still a fun game and anyone can jump in at any time. It’s probably a blend of all of it that only has me playing like I am these days.

I watch a ton of netflix. Ozark, The 100, American Horror Story, rewatched S1 of Breaking Bad, and S8 of The Walking Dead to get ready for Season 9. There are so many good shows out there. Rewatched some classic movies as well like The Dark Knight, The Aviator, Heat, Serenity, and Black Panther. I also did some reading. I read through the collected Hard Covers of The Walking Dead 9 & 10. Each book contains one years worth of stories. I like reading up after the TV season is over to see the differences and how things played out originally in the Comics. Book. Book 10 goes about 1/2 way through All Out War with Negan. Since I did not catch up to the show I ordered and just received my last shipment of Hard Covers Books 11-14 and since the show is heavily deviating from the comics with the exit of Andrew Lincoln I may read past the storylines in the TV show now. I also have been reading some Dark Horse Alien books and The complied ABC Warriors with a good chunk of Simon Bisley artwork that is just amazing. It was his first professional work and he killed it out the gate. So I have been busy outside of gaming as you can see.

Neverwinter (87/159 Achievements)
Neverwinter is going well, I am raking in the AD always hitting the 100K cap. When Black Friday hits this year I will have MORE then enough zen (Converted from AD) to buy everything I need which is becoming less and less with every sale event. My collection score broke 3K and is sitting at 3317 thanks to all the fish in the Sea of Moving Ice. I have been concentrating on the new dungeons that became available to me since Module 15 (Ravenloft) was released. My in game achievement points are now 4485. 16 of my Enchantments are rank 12 bringing my Item Level to 13540. I can feel 14K inching closer every day and I will most certainly think I will be there on Black Friday.

State of Decay 2 (64/91 Achievements)
The first DLC hit a couple of weeks ago where you fight off waves of undead. This brought a bunch of new achievements pushing the total to 91 from the original 62 the game had at launch.

Saint’s Row IV (49/70 Achievements)
I have one achievement left in the base game and then the DLC should be pretty easy to get through. If it’s anything like the last game it will go fast. I ended up liking this game more then I though I would.

State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition (45/72 Achievements)
Another month and another challenge to be had. This month, Kill 200 zombies with blade weapons.

Resident Evil 4 HD (5/12 Achievements)
Nothing to report here, except I will try and make this my next completion after Saints Row

Tom Clancy’s The Division (47/65 Achievements)
My cousin stopped playing this game, so I stopped playing this game. It will most like drop down to the back burner list soon, unless I do something.

ON THE BACK BURNER (12)
Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 (41/55 Achievements)

QUICK MOVIE REVIEW (Retro Review)
Dance with the Devil (Perdita Durango) - 8
What you would expect to be a straight to video release, surprisingly is actually a great piece of film making from a Spanish/USA joint effort. This film is filled with powerful imagery and an equally stunning score. From the start this movie grabs you and lets you know you are not in a safe little vacation paradise. But instead you are kidnapped from your chair and plunged into Mexico's seedy world of crime and ritualistic religion. Staring Rosie Perez, James Gandolfini as a DEA agent and with a demonic performance form Javier Bardem, this is one film you should definitely see. PC
