PermalinkGTASC19 Period 10 Roundup - Vogon Poets
Final GTASC update here! Never planned on actively participating much past Period 10 - so I didn't build the spreadsheet to last past that point either!

As a team, we still sit comfortably above the cut-off points each period. I suppose we'll last quite a bit longer into the competition even without actively coordinating. We're currently sitting at position 18 for overall team ranking, but I expect that to decrease as the weeks go on.

We each managed to snag a "spot" on the team-wide records that I was tracking.

The most achievements earned in a single period was 253. Earned by The Maize in Period 4.
The most Gamerscore earned in a single period was 9,435. Earned by The Maize in Period 3.
The most TrueAchievement earned in a single period was 13,546. Earned by Rossco7530 in Period 9.
The most TA Diff earned in a single period was 11,381. Also earned by Rossco7530 in Period 9.
The highest ratio in a single period was 7.37. Earned by eohjay in Period 10.

Thankfully, I managed to snag one of those records at the very end due to The Bard's Tale Trilogy. Now I don't have to appear utterly helpless! I expect massive decay from it in the coming periods, though!

I'd like to think that overall team contributions, for the most part, were fairly even. TheMaize and myself ended up with a total contribution percentage of roughly 28% each, with Rossco7530 at 45%. The lion's share of Rossco7530's lead came from a single game - Super Bomberman R. If that were removed from the calculations we'd be sitting at roughly 33/33/33.

Bring on the next Community Challenge!

PermalinkPersonal Challenge: Completions by Release Date
Last updated 9/30/19 Completions through Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden
Total Completions (Including all DLC): 374
Total Completions Goal for 2019: 360
Challenge Completion Status: 144/167 unique months completed. 86%

When there isn't a new release or a TA challenge guiding my game selection I'm using this to help me choose what to play next from my backlog. I would like to eventually complete a game that was released each and every month since the introduction of achievements.

Link directly to completed games.
Collapsed completed years.
Anything in italics I already own and have in my backlog, with the exception of 2019 releases.
If a month is blank I don't own any viable games - but I'll worry about that way down the road. Maybe future GwG will help to fill in the blanks.
Image Legend; Green = Completed, Orange = Owned, Blue = Wish List
The (+) after the game title indicates how many other games from the release month I have finished in addition to the one listed.

PermalinkGTASC19 Period 9 Roundup - Vogon Poets
A day late with the update - I wasn't at the computer very much yesterday around the period's end.

My participation is going to dwindle off now the the community challenge aspect is out of the way, but I'll try to keep out of the negatives and coordinate with any bonuses that aren't totally out of reach. These updates will probably only continue one more week as well, as I only built the spreadsheet up to Week 10. Don't know if I'll get around to revising it.

It's amazing how much a single game can affect a teams score. In this case, Rossco managed to pop a couple of stellar achievements in Super Bomberman R. Two achievements alone could have carried the team through the period, and he managed to snag the team records for TA, TA Diff and Ratio in one fell swoop. We also placed the highest that we have managed thus far (4th) and were a whopping 11,418 TA Diff above cut-off.

Our team "ranking" across the entire competition has also reached it's highest point, 20th. We've been hanging out in the low 30's for the vast majority of the competition. Again, surprised that one big week from one person can make such a difference!

I've been playing The Bard's Tale Trilogy via Game Pass and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I wasn't sure if I was going to be biting off a game that I wouldn't really get into (I mean, it's from 1985!), but I'm having a great time with it. I'm eager to play through the remastered trilogy followed by the new entry! Then I've got to get back to the backlog stuff.

A new period record for Rossco, taking home the highest TA Diff per period of any of us thus far!

PermalinkGTASC19 Period 7 Roundup - Vogon Poets
Another week down. Onwards and upwards!

Took a bit of a lazy approach this week and worked on some games without immediate yields. I've been wanting to wrap up Culdcept SAGA for years and spent quite a bit of time progressing towards the last achievement on it, as well as playing through the Hell Warders co-op campaign.

Only secured the bonus due to knocking out the semi-enjoyable Uncanny Valley earlier in the week, plus quite a bit of gamerscore from starting the fun-filled Gang Beasts during the home stretch when I realized I was still about 500 gamerscore shy. Gang Beasts is a weird one. I can comfortably say that it would be a terrible game to play on your own, but it's a lot of fun as a family/party game.

The cut-offs this week ended up being a pretty big jump up from last week, and much higher than I expected them to be. I was also caught off guard by Halo Wars: Definitive Edition - I had logged in and planned to boost some of the online last night to help with GS towards the bonus, but the online servers aren't working. Googled the problem and there were dozens of reports from last night with users complaining th7at it isn't working any longer. Now, I get to fear that they won't come back up and I'll be left with unobtainables. I'll be checking daily and knocking it out at the first possible moment if they come back up!
