Tales from the B'lands, Wordament, Angry Birds, Rayman, Battlefield, and more - Weekly Recap #39Permalink

Hey there TA'ers. Welcome back to a surprise Weekly Recap post where I didn't think I'd have the time to actual put this one together with being at work today! With no overtime available, and the earliest finish I've had on a Sunday since working for Rotala, there's no reason not to whip up the post today.

THE BEAN DIVE GOES LOWER THAN LOW

Most of this month has been an achievement a day kind of month, especially since being eliminated from the Great TrueAchievement Score Challenge 2018. On the Friday, I'd still not bagged an achievement for the day and it was getting quite late on. I was pretty tired and wanted to carry on with Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows) seeing as the TV was being used. The only achievements I have left however are Marathon and Nightmare catcher with the latter being for completing nightmare mode without dying or restarting. That's 36 levels in total and it's their harder version as well. I didn't have the concentration levels for this and Rayman is my current Windows game I should be playing. Next up on my list was supposed to be A World of Keflings (Windows) but in my eyes, this is not the kind of game I can just pick up and play with ease. Instead, I decided to give Angry Birds Star Wars (Windows) a go which even though it's roughly a 25-30 hour completion, it looks straight-forward enough. Of course, this meant that the completion percentage took a dip and then to add more salt to the completion wound, it's May, which means it's time for the next gifted game to start. This being Battlefield 1. As you can imagine, the Bean Dive ain't looking so hot. I've just noticed that I didn't even post my Bean Dive stats in my last Weekly Recap post, so these are being compared to April 8th's recap:

Start completion % = 94.89
End completion % = 93.12
Final dive % = 1.77
Current completion % = 93.08 92.87
Recovered completion % = -0.04 -0.25
Achievements needed for recovery = 222 249
Total games dived = 4
Not good. When 2019 comes, this will be the year of cleaning up. However, with Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on the horizon, my cleaning may be put on hold!

GIFTED GAME FOR APRIL (2/2) - ASSASSIN'S CREED SYNDICATE

Complete the game Assassin's Creed Syndicate before Nexus Grunt by 30 Apr 18

Dat Boi Treezy progress - 0%
Nexus Grunt progress - 7%
Time progress - 99.16%
0 achievements out of 56 won (0/7 DLC achievements)

0/1300 Gamerscore

0/2279 TrueAchievement Points
Well, Assassin's Creed Syndicate was a complete bust. I only had one day left to try and even start the game after the last Weekly Recap but it was just pointless and my completion percentage would've been ruined even more. On my Gaming To-Do list, I've put that June is being shared with Titanfall 2 and Assassin's Creed Origins but I'm not going to bother with Origins anymore until I've cleaned up all of the other AC's I've started but not finished.

GIFTED GAME FOR MAY - BATTLEFIELD 1

Complete the game Battlefield 1 before TrueAchievement by 31 May 18

Dat Boi Treezy progress - 4%
TrueAchievement progress - 14%
Time progress - 82.78%
2 achievements out of 31 won (0/19 DLC achievements)

25/5500 TrueAchievement Points
Squaring off against the TrueAchievement king himself! TA started the game on September 6th 2018 and hasn't popped an achievement in it since his last one on September 12th. Making more progress than Rich should be easy and I think I should be good with nailing the campaign stuff in the game. The multiplayer however, is going to be an issue. My wireless connection to my Xbox One (which is upstairs in opposite corner of the house to the router isn't reliable enough for multiplayer so I can only play online on my Xbox One S which is downstairs. Then there's time, the undivided attention it will require, getting familiar with everything including the maps, weapons, classes, etc, and more. I'm not expecting to complete the game fully as I'm still rocking in a lot of hours with pretty much all of my shifts starting any time between 4:50am-10am and finishing between 13:50-20:30. This means I'm never getting any sweet opportunity to have the house and the TV to myself. If I can box off the campaign related achievements and maybe some of the multiplayer stuff, I'll be pretty happy with that.

GAMING & READING IN BITE-SIZE CHUNKS AT WORK

In other news, my last achievement I needed in Rayman Jungle Run (WP) has finally been conquered! This means I'm down to the last two Windows Phone games I'll probably bother playing - Final Fantasy (WP) and Final Fantasy III (WP). The first one I've technically started but not popped anything in yet. I'm not going to carry on with FF just yet as I've been doing a spot of reading during my layovers at work. Before I started hammering the life out of Wordament Snap Attack (Android), I was enjoying RAW from U-God.

As a passionate Wu-Tang fan, this was a very sweet read and I wish it didn't have to end. U-God is undeniably a much-lesser known member of the Clan with the most popular guys easily being the likes of Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon. He's still put in a lot of work though and even though he's not had as much success as the above names, he's still done his part and cemented his legacy in the hip-hop world forever! It was great to read his story and learn more about U-God. He was honest, funny, and painted amazing pictures of the good times and some of the horrifying times he's had in his life. I also didn't realise he was so close to Method Man as the Iron Lung and himself go waaaaay back before the Clan came together.

With Wordament out of the way, I've picked this little beauty back up:

It's been so long since was last reading this, I had absolutely no clue as to where I was up to so I've just started from scratch instead smile

QUICK SCOPE!

Watching - The Blacklist - Season 4 Episode 5

The McDonald's Monopoly game is over! I didn't win anything amazing but with the amount of spares I have, I thought I'd be rocking free NOW TV passes for the next five months! Sadly, after looking at the FAQ's and T's & C's of the setup, it turns out I can only have one of each pass three if my memory serves me correctly. I need to cancel my current freebie so I don't start to get charged and then I'm going to use ten more spares and see how it goes from there. I did bag and "instant win" NOW TV pass as well however so hopefully I should be able to have another free Entertainment Pass with this.

My bus broke down today at work and while some people think it's great to sat there and literally get paid for doing nothing, I personally don't. Breaking down means letting your passengers down and then having to sit and wait for anything between 1-3 hours (maybe more in extreme cases) for someone to come and save the day. I was only doing one route today from Bolton to Horwich but what I didn't realise was that it was Match Day. I don't have a clue who was playing and I don't give a fuck either but the business of the route completely caught me off guard.

Normally, at least during the week at least, this particular route is sweet. There's almost always ten minutes to kill on either side of the route giving me the chance to go to the loo, smoke, play on my phone or read a bit of my book. From my first trip to the last, it was non-stop! It wasn't too bad at first as I still had a few minutes to kill at the Interchange at least but then traffic started getting really bad at a roundabout near to the footy arena. It was on both sides of the roundabout too so once I got through the traffic one way, I'd be stuck in it on the other side too. After starting to run later and later and later, my bus had finally had enough. The bus was fucked anyway and I'd already rang up once to report the ridiculous amount of issues the bus was having but as I already knew, I'd have to carry on with the bus until I couldn't no more. The bus was driving fine but it was as if the dashboard was glitchy or bugged. It kept telling me every thing under the sun was wrong with the bus which shockingly is usually the norm' with the bus but then the oil and water warning lights were going on and off too. With how unreliable the dash was, I didn't know if this was a legit issue or not.

Eventually, it turned out it was as a taxi driver kindly pulled up along side my at a set of traffic lights to let me know water and smoke was coming from the back of the bus. I pulled onto the kerb, got out to take a look, and discovered he was right. Then, I had to jump back on the bus and let all of my 40-something passengers know we weren't going nowhere. They were cool about it but pretty pissed off at the same time as most of them were on their way to the footy match that started in half hour. There was a bus up ahead run by another company but basically going the same way as me that was struggling with traffic too so most, if not all of my passengers dashed for this bus as if they were late to work or something! laugh

I rang the depot to which took multiple attempts for anyone to answer, only to find out the inspector wasn't even there as he was dealing with another breakdown elsewhere. The engineer who answered the phone, didn't really know what to do but said he'd try and sort something. An hour later, the inspector rang back and set off to meet me with another bus. All-in-all, it took just under two hours to get back on the road but by this time, I'd missed the rest of my trip, the trip back, my break, and part of the trip out again. I took the bus back to the Interchange, had my break, then took the spare bus back to the depot, then I went home.

Anyway, the point I've taken four paragraphs to get to is that I had time to kill! laugh With no shops or any sign of civilisation nearby besides those driving past me, I tucked into my YouTube Watch Later list which at the time of writing is 457 videos deep! The oldest video on my list was uploaded on January 2nd 2018 so I've finally made it into this year at least.

My last video watched took my back to the New Year as Diddy (Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Brother Love, etc) hosted a New Year's party alongside DJ Khaled and unsurprisingly, it looked like a well-done, professional set up. Diddy has to be one of my favourite overall hip-hop artists of all-time and I don't mean that as in a top ten that you'd find the usual suspects in like Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, 2 Pac in. I mean just as an overall person, entertainer, boss, artist. I'd put Snoop Dogg in a similar kind of list too. Just the vibe, energy, wisdom, positivity, LOVE, good times that comes from Diddy is always good to see and how awesome would it be to actually be able to vibe at one of those parties!? shock

Check it out if you've got the time and enjoy:

YOUTUBE VIDEO OF THE WEEK

You already how much I love food videos and Sean Evans is one of my favourite guides doing his thing. While sat on the same broken down bus, I caught up with one of the many First We Feast videos in my playlist. I was starving at the time as well as I'd not had my break yet!

That's the last clip for NBA P', I swear!

NEWS THAT'S CAUGHT MY EYE

Nothing this week but I do want to go back a bit further as I didn't give this particular story a shout out at the time - Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 Confirmed

I know Mega Man won't be an easy completion and I've never really bothered with any of them before. These two collections caught my eye though. With having played Mega Man X on the SNES, I really enjoyed it at the time. It was tough, I died a lot, and I never actually completed the game but at the time, the game was just so well done and well up there with the best games available on the SNES. Hell, any games with Mega Man in the title still sell for pretty good money, at least whenever I see them at Play Expo events.

I wouldn't mind checking these two collection titles out at some point. Even though it will be next year, hell, maybe even 2020 at this point, I will keep an eye on both titles anyway.

SONG OF THE WEEK

A$AP Rocky is one of those artists I had to go backwards on and see what kind of content he was putting out before the likes of "F**kin Problems", "Goldie", etc. When I downloaded Live. Love. ASAP, I was caught off guard massively. I just wasn't expecting this Harlem artists to come with such a unique sound clearly inspired by the Dirty South. At first, I have to admit, I wasn't really feeling the mixtape that much. The second and third times round however, I was pretty hooked and now, I love to just bump it randomly from time to time from start to finish. The first track, 'Palace', hits you straight away, literally. The beat is sick and kind of god/church/angel/devil-like. Even though the flow is a bit slow to start with, the way Rocky changes up and describes perfectly what he's talking about, just add to the memorising song that just gives me a such a unique vibe like I can't be touched. The kind of vibe that makes you want to drive slow and hang out of the window all stupid like it's really cool or something. laugh

No screens and no streams. I don't know when I will ever get to stream again to be honest. Maybe when the day comes that work chills a bit and I'm not getting hammered with hours so hard then I can find the time. My self-promise of swimming on one of two days off has been out of the window for months too as I'm averaging something like 2.5-3 days off a month. Not that I mind though. I'm not going to complain about actually having a bit of money in the bank for a change!

Anyway, cheers for reading as always my lovelies and I'll see you all next weekend! Enjoy your bank holiday break if you're not working and behave yourselves! wave

ChewieOnIce Keflings is easy bo beasy, treezy. And it's pretty fun and relaxing. Plus you get to smash around with your avatar as a giant, though you can't crush people unfortunately. It's a good choice for a streak keeper too.

Dat Boi Treezy Do I not need to be quite specific in what I'm doing though for the achievements? I can't really remember how I rolled with the XBLA one.

ChewieOnIce I just noticed that the achievement list on Windows is actually completely different to the XBLA version so ignore me
