So I was looking at my shelf of backlogged games, and there's an absolute ton of good titles there that I just haven't got around to playing. I went through the Bean Dive in 2016 as a way to add games to my card and give me an incentive to play through them, and yet almost 2 years later there's still a ton of single achievement games there. Then I noticed that the To-Do list on TA could hold up to 100 achievements and allows for adding random cheeves. This gave me an idea - why not utilize that to knock off some games. Doing this led me to at least playing through the story on a few games, but I was also ignoring a bunch of others too, and continually adding new ones, making the list never get lower. So now I'm taking that idea and challenging myself to knock off as much of the list as I can, without adding new achievements (until I'm ready to make a new list of course). As with anything though, I've decided to implement a few rules for this. First, anything
requiring multiplayer is automatically removed and redrawn. I'm not averse to making a session or two, but for something like this, I'd prefer not to HAVE to rely on others to scratch them off the list. Cheeves that can be done in either single or multiplayer modes, or that can be done locally with an idle controller...those I'll leave in. Second, I will redraw anything I feel is beyond my skill level. This mainly applies to rhythm games like Rock Band, but can be used on any achievement, at my discretion. It's a for-fun list and not a competition, so I'll keep it fun. Finally, the breakdown: the random achievements use four settings: Easy (ratio 1 - 1.5), Medium (1.5 - 2.5), Hard (2.5 - 4), and Very Hard (4+), and my first instinct was to break it down evenly. That wouldn't be feasible however...while some games have easy achievements with high ratios, I don't think THAT many of them would be drawn. Conversely, many games don't have achievements above a 2.5 ratio, so I feel like I'd be artificially limiting the game pool because of that. Therefore, I've decided to go with 40 Easy, 35 Medium, 15 Hard, and 10 Very Hard. This breakdown should give me a good selection of games, while still keeping things doable.
So I guess what's left to do is to break down the list:

2 AchievementsNumber of Unique Titles: 69I feel like this is a well-rounded list. There's some simple progression achievements, some grinds, and a good selection of games, many of which I've barely played. My focus will likely be games with multiple achievements needed, or games that I'm close to knocking off the achievement(s) anyway. Games I haven't really played that have late progression achievements will also be given priority, as I'll be able to get other achievements along the way (because we all love getting extra achievements) And since I won't be doing much gaming until after midnight, and tomorrow is the first of the month, I think I'll make it a monthly challenge to knock off as much as I can and make a new list for the first of the following month. Or maybe I'll just keep it until I finish it off. I dunno. But all told, this looks to be a fun list that I can hopefully put a nice dent into. I'll also try to make progress reports once a week, just in case someone gives a crap about my progress. And if anyone wants to do something like this as well, by all means let me know. I love inspiring people to do things like this, and I also like to follow their progress as well as making my own.
