Keen Software House's upcoming release of Miner Wars 2081
is taking a controversial route by introducing The Fourth Reich as one of the four factions bidding for precious minerals. Here are a few key points of how The Fourth Reich came to be and their political objective in Miner Wars 2081
After the solar event of 2070, behind closed doors and backed by financially sound industrialists, the secret establishment was already embarking on a journey for space colonization, mining and orbital facilities. Once the new world was formed after the great event, The Reichists had already established outposts and colonies supported by thousands of citizens. They adopted a new ideology based primarily on accepting all the greatest minds in science and geneology, regardless of race, and utilized specific skill sets to create the most advanced civilization in the new world.
The Technocratic establishment set in place by The Fourth Reich incorporated nanotechnology and cybernetic implants. One of their main focuses was the use of augmentations that allowed people to connect with computers and other electronic devices with a direct input to the human brain. The Fourth Reich were well equipped with bio-chemical labs that were used to propel scientific advancements, which led to many breakthroughs in genetics.
Prior to the solar event, the scientist G.F. Mauler created cybernetically mutated DNA, backed by secret Fourth Reich funding, to create "The Seven Reborn". This highly controversial augmentation created re-educated prisoners and led to stricter laws being put into place regarding DNA alteration, followed by the lifelong banishment of Mauler to Canada. Needless to say, the power hungry technocracy of The Fourth Reich established possibly the most lethal faction in Miner Wars 2081
