Activision: Three new IPs and COD:MW 2 for 2009

In their recent fourth quarter financial conference call Activision announced what we all saw coming; Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will hit the shelves this year. No definite date has been set, but it is due out this Holiday season so get it on your Christmas lists early.

If this was not good enough news, Activision has also stated that there will be three brand new IPs released this year. For a company heavily criticised for its franchise exploitation this has to be good news.

Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith said that one of the new IPs will be in the racing genre, title yet unknown, but it is from the developer behind the popular racing game ‘Project Gotham Racing’ Bizarre Creations. The other new IPs are ‘Singularity’ and ‘Prototype’ from developers Raven Software and Radical Entertainment respectively.
