The team at 2K Sports seem to be enjoying the chance to highlight the improvements that are set to arrive with the release of basketball simulation, soon.

In this latest trailer, Senior Producer, Rob Jones explains how 2K13 will utilise Microsoft's Kinect device for the first time in the franchise's history. Using voice commands will allow you to call plays and request substitutions without the need to pause the game. The video showcases some examples of such controls in action.

2K Sports has also announced today that gamers will be able to access NBA 2K13 information from practically anywhere, thanks to three more developments in the franchise, collectively known as NBA 2K Everywhere.

Firstly, there's a new companion app, titled MyNBA2K, which can be downloaded on most popular mobile device platforms, offering a series of mini-games and the opportunity to link up with data on your Xbox 360 console.

If mini-games aren't enough for you, then maybe the "authentic, full-featured NBA simulation experience" that is returning this year on mobile devices around the same time will suit you better.

Alternatively, a new Facebook social game, named NBA 2K: MyLIFE, will allow you to shoot some hoops against your friends online. Playing well in the Facebook game will also unlock certain bonuses, such as clothing and other rewards, in console versions of NBA 2K13.

NBA 2K13 is due for release on October 2nd in North America and October 5th in Europe on Xbox 360 and there is still a variety of bonuses available for pre-ordering the title. The new initiatives planned for Facebook and mobile devices are scheduled for release in October too, but no specific dates have been confirmed as yet.
