NFS Most Wanted Kinect Integration Details

Gradually integrating Microsoft's Kinect device into the gameplay mechanics of existing franchises is becoming increasingly popular among developers, rather than creating new full-blown Kinect-enabled titles. This was evident most recently when 2K Sports explained how this sort of approach would be used in

Clearly Criterion Software is thinking along the same lines in respect of its forthcoming racing title, The last gameplay trailer we reported on showcased the EasyDrive menu system, among other things. However, EA and Criterion Software have revealed information about how gamers will be able to use the Kinect's voice-command functionality to minimise the use of menus when you just don't have the time, during the adrenaline-fuelled, fast paced racing. There'll be no need to pause the game to make modifications to your car to help gain an advantage or better suit the driving conditions. Instead, simply barking orders like “Mods, Nitrous, Burn Nitrous” or “Mods, Tires, Slicks” will enable a nitrous boost for added acceleration or to change your tyres, respectively. Let's face it, no-one wants pesky menus getting in the way of high-speed police evasion action.

There are several pre-order bonus deals available for Need for Speed Most Wanted before its retail release in North America on October 30th. Gamers in Europe will be able to begin their bid for freedom when the title releases on November 2nd.
