TA Battle Royale Finals Are Set

By Mark Delaney, 6 years ago
Over a month ago, we set out to fill your slow gaming season with something fun to pass the time until big releases started to reappear in stores. Announcing the TA Battle Royale on August 6th, we have since compiled tens of thousands of comments, votes, and controversies while we have allowed you to answer the age-old question that we've all asked when thinking about video game characters: who is the best? Who would win in a fight? Each day, we set up one matchup, based on our seedings, and allowed you guys 24 hours to vote on who would advance. Five weeks later, our grand finale is set. Here's a recap of the last round that has decided the final match.

- Ezio Auditore shocks many voters and assassinates Marcus Fenix with 58.1% of the 2,064 votes recorded in 24 hours.

- With a narrow 51.3% of the 2,374 votes, Master Chief found a way to defeat Commander Shepard and, as many of you expected, found his way to the finals. Now, can he finish the fight?

Collectively, the tournament has registered nearly 50,000 votes, which is very impressive given that all the polls have been open for just 24 hours each. The final poll, which you'll find on the site homepage soon, will remain open for 72 hours, to allow more time for debate and voting. We hope you've had fun checking in to see the matchups every day, and remember, I'm always taking suggestions at how we can improve this in the future. For your viewing pleasure, here's an image of the complete bracket and a recap at every matchup (Hint: Use the screenshot viewer on the side to expand the image). Thanks go out once again to Nighthawk205 for putting these visuals together in a timely and impressive manner.
