This story actually starts yesterday when Midway filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. At least one staff member here saw the news hit the wire and asked me to post about it but I said "If I post 'Midway Goes Bankrupt' all I will do is make fun of them for their biggest games last year being TNA: Impact and Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe." So I didn't post it until now. Apologies all around, please keep the 'I-told-you-so's to a minimum.
So now that I've made fun of them and told you the backstory, Kotaku is reporting today that rumors are flying that Vin Diesel's Wheelman originally slated for a March 24 release under Midway is now being reported by some retailers such as GameFly to be published by Ubisoft with a date TBA. Official word is mum, but it looks like a delay is likely so that the new publisher can promote the game, sell it to retailers, and get it to distribution.
I'll keep you updated. Lesson learned never bank on TNA wrestling and always take the opportunity to take potshots on a former industry titan.
