Max Payne 3 Hostage Negotiation DLC Screens

Fans of Rockstar's fantastic third person shooter,, may remember when we covered the details on upcoming DLC packs for the game. At the time, no juicy details were revealed for the "Hostage Negotiation" pack, but we did know it was scheduled for a September release. Suffering a slight delay, the DLC is still on its way, and Rockstar have now released plenty of details and a few new screenshots to keep us in the loop.

The upcoming pack is stuffed with some serious multiplayer goodies, starting off with four new maps that players will recognise from the campaign side of the game. These new locations will offer a variety of visual settings and structures for the fast and intense battling of Max Payne 3's competitive multiplayer.

Club Moderno will have players making their opponents dance as the sweet music of dual-wielded pistols sounds throughout the nightclub:

Favela Heights takes Max back to the rundown, gang-infested neighbourhoods where the buildings are decorated in gang signs and graffiti, and filled with pumped up players ready to bullet dive recklessly out of apartment windows hoping to ruin their opponent's day:

O Palácio Strip Club and Estádio Do Galatians, unfortunately, didn't get any screen coverage along with the news. Although players of the campaign will easily recognize each map as the Strip Club is another place Max visits during his trip to Favela Heights, and the Estadio is the football stadium in which another chapter of Max's story takes place.

To add icing to the cake of these new maps, the Filhos De Ogum will be included as a playable faction in competitive multiplayer. They can be seen in the third and final screenshot doing battle against the U.F.E.

To top it all off, gamers can get their blood-filled hands on two new weapons: the M24 Sniper Rifle, and the IA2 Assault Rifle. Three new items will also be available to equip on your character. The Explosive Burst for your explosive booby trapping needs, the Bomb Suit (as seen in the first screen), which will thankfully protect you against all things explosive, and finally the Intimidation Mask which will make reloading times slower for your enemies.

With the release of the DLC pack running slightly behind schedule and possibly upsetting fans, Rockstar have a little thank you present for us:

Our apologies to Max Payne fans who've been waiting for this one and the other upcoming packs - we're working hard to bring you this and all the other DLC and should have a release date to announce for this next pack very soon. As a special thank you to all Max Payne 3 multiplayers for your support and patience, look for the release of an all-new chrome weapons bonus, which will be redeemable by all Social Club members free of charge. We'll have more info when the unlock becomes active later this week.
The "Hostage Negotiation" Map Pack will be ready to take captives "later this fall", all for the price of 800 MSP. The pack will be free to those who've purchased the Rockstar Pass, as will the game's future DLC.
