DoDonPachi Maximum (WP) Easy Mode Detailed

By Michelle Balsan, 6 years ago
A couple weeks ago, we brought you a trailer for Cave's WP shooter, DoDonPachi Maximum (WP), that alerted us that a patch would be forthcoming. Details were scarce, so we were left guessing as to what that update would bring, but it would undoubtedly be something awesome.

As it turns out, the update will bring an 'Easy Mode' option to the game, which is noted for its difficulty. This will likely be a welcome option to those who already own the game, and may even serve to bring new players into the fold.

While Cave did detail the update on their site, it is very much in Japanese, which many of us don't read. Thankfully, sacra, a reader at WPCentral translated the patch notes.

NEW Easy Mode

First, drastically cut enemy's bullet variety. They received much feedback (especially from overseas) about this point. Now using circle bullets and needle bullets frequently with easily seen trajectories.
Second, fix the enemy's position. They changed positions of enemies that are making surprise attacks or attacking in a low position, to destroy or avoid them easily.
Third, easy to see the enemy's attack. Now it's easy to find routes to avoid difficult barrage like the 'boss'.
Here's a screen of the game showing off the new 'Easy Mode'.

Easy Mode

No definite date has been given for the update yet, but we'll be sure to let you know when it's coming as soon as we have that detail to share. In the meanwhile, DoDonPachi Maximum can be downloaded from the Marketplace right here for $4.99.
