More Details Emerge on Grand Theft Auto V

In the event that you were living under a rock yesterday, you might not have noticed that Game Informer dropped a Charles Foster Kane-worthy amount of Grand Theft Auto V news.

The biggest revelation is that GTA V will have not one, not two, but three protagonists, as shown here on the upcoming Game Informer cover.

Gamers will be able to switch between these characters (Michael, Trevor and Franklin) with a simple button press. This will allow them to see missions from multiple perspectives.

Game Informer also has a bit of background on all of these characters.

Michael is a retired bank robber who is in the witness protection program. Unfortunately for him, his wife has a taste for the finer things in life and has burned through his substantial fortune. As you can imagine, the straight and narrow isn't for him anymore.

Trevor is being described as a "drugged out psychopath", so expect him to fill out all of the paperwork necessary to obtain assault weapons and the like.

Franklin is a repo man and much younger than Trevor or Michael. He is described as "the young and capable one of the bunch."

Another bit of news to excite fans is that their world ("Los Santos") is going to be the biggest in GTA history, "bigger than Red Dead Redemption, and San Andreas combined."

That's really just the tip of the iceberg. You can read all about Grand Theft Auto V in the December issue of Game Informer which will be hitting newsstands soon and is already available for digital download.

Grand Theft Auto V is set for a Spring 2013 release.
