Xbox LIVE 10th Anniversary Sale on XBLA Games

By Rebecca Smith, 4 years ago
Microsoft's Xbox LIVE service was first introduced to gamers in November 2002. Players got their own gamertag and could create a list of all of their friends' gamertags. They could play online in certain games and interact with fellow players via voice communication. Finally, players could get extra content for their games via high-speed downloads. By the end of 2002, Unreal Championship, MechAssault, Whacked!, NFL Fever 2003 and Midtown Madness 3 all had LIVE support. By the end of 2003, it was hoped that nearly 50 games would have LIVE support.

Fast forward ten years to 2012 and the vast majority of games now come with some form of LIVE support, and downloadable games and content are released on a weekly basis. November is the month that the service celebrates its tenth birthday, so Microsoft has discounted a variety of XBLA games for a week. Here is the list of discounted games:

Bastion (Xbox 360) - 1200 MSP 600 MSP
Battlefield 1943 - 1200 MSP 600 MSP
Castle Crashers - 1200 MSP 600 MSP
Fruit Ninja Kinect - 800 MSP 400 MSP

The rest of the games are discounted until November 22nd, so don't wait too long to pick up these bargains!
